  1. I'd check with Lexus on this because on my ISF they look and feel very chrome to me and I use a metal polish on them every 3-4 weeks and they come up like new
  2. In my ISF i once managed an entire tank of 95 Ron in 95 miles !!! When my wife borrowed the car for a week she managed 231 miles from a tank. I guess she found somewhere selling RON230 ?? No, but seriously, I do see a general increase in MPG using the higher grade motion potion but can't notice any performance increase. In my opinion ...and of course this depends on road conditions, traffic, how i drive, temperature and what colour pants I am wearing and in addition factors xy and z ...i would guess I get 10-15 miles more on tesco 99 but i have no scientific evidence...it's just a feeling.
  3. Well consider yourself lucky....later that day I discovered that the ISF can actually "drive" through the gears whilst at a standstill. The burnout you got was just 1st gear - I managed 1st, 2nd, 3rd and into 4th gear later and the smoke was truly immense!!! The feat will not be repeated now for quite some time (approx 5000 miles) as i now have four new boots (and wheels - thank you Lexus GB) so best keep the burnouts to well....zero!!! – it was funny looking at the old wheels - quite "scrubbed" ! Unfortunately I asked for the photos but apparently they have been sent to MI5 for further analysis!!!
  4. Well, for those who didn't make the meet I can honestly say you missed a treat!!! The topless jelly wrestling went down a storm, despite Steve's obvious flaunting of the rules by wearing a full mankini!! (Sorry the photo's were withheld by the developers on the grounds of poor taste) and the car park looked great- literally overflowing with Lexi !! See you all at JAE....
  5. Meeting at 1pm Saturday. Weather Forecast for Saurday in S'ton: Dry if a little cover castin the morning. Rain begins at 1pm :tsktsk: Bugger !!!
  6. 47.25 Hours and counting. So what exactly is the beast Project or shouldn't I ask? <Edit> - i just saw it is a link to a post but the photos are not showing for some reason? or is it just my PC? - other photos in posts show OK...maybe the Beast is having some super power over my PC ?? Lol - we'll have the Brute and the Beast on Saturday :D
  7. Well, at 59.99mph I am sure we will be OK
  8. 3 days to go ....weather looks good for Saturday...:o))))))
  9. The ISF has parking sensors front and rear plus the camera already. They are 2 vertical strips of white LEDs wire to the lights. Only put them on to make the car stand out from the front a little compared with IS220d and IS250 so after someone gets overtaken they might remember next time to move over a little quicker - seems to work quite well. Thanks to all for the compliments on the car - i still amaze myself when I think that I own it !
  10. I bough a set of bridgestone replacements for the rear of my ISF and paid £450 fitted e.t.c which was the absoulte cheapest I could find. I now need all four tyres replacing and Lexus quoted £900+ I was walking past Quik-Fit yesterday and casually asked how much - the answer was £1089. Ouch! I said I wanted bridgestones and he then told me if i had them before the end of the month he could do a deal... £810 fitted but then was was a further discount as buying a complete set and the price ended up at £629 fitted and yes these are the orignal fit tyre. Just thought I'd let you know if any other ISF driver needs tyres (i replace my rear tyres every 6500 miles it seems)
  11. Are you in the south?....we're meeting August 1st... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=61293
  12. Come on guys up guys...(free ISF rides available) http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=61293
  13. Chris, Good luck with the cleaning e.t.c but if you want a mega job i can't recommend Gleamachine high enough - really nice guy owns and runs it and you'll have seen the results from the link I posted. £300 really well spent (probably cheaper as you live in his neck of the woods as I paid more for him to travel). I have only had to wash the car a few times since then and every time it comes back how it looks in the photos and this is about 2 months later - he said it would be like that for 6 months + which is brilliant
  14. congrats on the new toy. I just PM'ed you about a number plate you might be interested in for it. As for the scratched wheels I suspect that this is the same issue all ISF owners i have spoken with have. The brake dust is shocking and if like me you were not aware that not only is it dust but red-hot shards of metal flying off the brake pads onto the wheels and bodywork, you would feel happy to wash the beast once a week. However the brake dust builds up and i didn't really notice until it was too late and the wheels were damaged beyon cleaning. Lexus tried to clean them 3 times and although the dust is all gone now, i am left with scratched inbetween ever spoke and small paint damage too along the door sills. The other white ISF owner I know really had obvious damage to his paint and wheels. both of us have been given brand new wheels despite it not being covered under warranty - good will guesture by Lexus GB (thanks) Advise is to clean the wheels after every trip - as advised to me by Lexus. Here is the post link to see what I mean http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/show...amp;postcount=1
  15. Come on you South Owners...Fishers Pond Aug 1st. Please sign up to the pinned post http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=61293
  16. For those in the area on Saturday 1st August there is a chance to ride the ISF... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=61293
  17. I had been happy in the knowledge that if i got caught speeding on the motorway I'd be able to simply outrun the police (not that I would of course ) and now the buggers have got their own ISF .... Good choice though !!!!... would be good to see some pics of it...
  18. I'll be going - hopefully and bringing the ISF
  19. Sorry to burst the bubble guys but I doubt you will find an ISF owner who gets 20+mpg over any decent period of time. Yes if you go on a 200 mile motorway cruise you can get 20+....but only just The problem is that the noise that happens at 3800rpm along with the power burst and acceleration found over 5000 rpm becomes seriously additive and so i get an average of 13mpg and that is 50% motorway (15 miles per day) and 50% urban. You don't have a car like the ISF to see how much fuel you can eek out of it...i did this for 2 years with my 220d which is what I chopped in for the ISF and was getting an easy 55+mpg. The ISF is just too much fun and so really 15mpg would be the best yopu could hope for combined...unless you are 65 years old and use it to potter down to the golf club in non sports mode, and full auto mode. The "Snow" mode is quite good at saving fuel as you only get about 200 bhp and so putting foot down has little effect. "Sports" mode is much more fun !!!!
  20. So can you let us know if you can come to this fine event?? This is a continuation of Previous Topic OK guys, as i started this post I best make the suggestion. Firstly, yes I know S'ton is next to the sea but there is not too many places suitable witha seaview so I am opting for ease of travel instead. Just of the M3 jct 11 you can head towards Bishops Waltham and Tyford. After about 5 miles there is a large pub called Fisher's Pond, with large carpark, surounded by straight and quiet country lanes (can't think why we might enjoy those). Location link is here so any takers? Shall we go for: Saturday August 1st? 1pm The Fishers Pond Main Rd Fishers Pond, Eastleigh, SO50 023 8069 2209 http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sour...=15&iwloc=A
  21. Saturday August 1st from 1pm. I'll PM the Mods and ask if they put our announcements to give us some air time or it will be about 3 of us which would be a bit rubbish... i'll change the poll to see who will be coming
  22. The normal rate for the guy for the day was £250 but as he had to travel from London to Hampshire he charged another £50 - actually I offered as i really wanted him to do the work because i had seen other cars Gleam Machine had done and very impressive. Worth it though as only washed the car 3 times since then and it still looks like it did when he finished - well except the whell which look considerably darker and seem to be made entirely of soot :tsktsk: collected by every chimney sweep in the country over the last 20 years !!!!
  23. Driving it properly can mean different things... If you mean sensible non ragging it properly I'd say 200 is achieveable On motorways cruising at 80-90 you'll do 250 If you mean making the MARRRRR sound at every oportunuity around town, on motorways and country lanes properly I would say 130 to 150 is the norm although I have managed to do a complete tank in 117 running only round town and sitting in traffic jams
  24. Oh dear, sounds like you know from experience...but neat and novel solution to the kerbing. for your reference here are the pics of the ISF being loved very much.... ISF Pics
  25. Thanks for the suggestions and interesting points raised here (especially fjcfarrar's comments) . Looks like unless we all get ceramics we are doomed to a live of scrubbing, runbbing and moaning to lexus ... :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk:
