  1. Thank you for the input guys... :) Yeah i was looking into ARBs but there seems to be only 2 types, Cusco and C-One both being on the dear side. Are these the only two types available? How easy is it to fit them yourself, i'm quite comfortable with a spanner... any special tools required? Actually thinking about it is it worth up-rating your ARBs before WIM-ing the car? Or is the wheel alignment not affected? Is it normal for up-rated (mod-ing) parts to be so thin on the ground and expensive for Lexus?
  2. Hey guys, After reading several posts on the forum about cheap and cheerful mods... i've been looking at few items and wondered if anyone could suggest a good place to buy them from or a better product for similar money?? Panel filter: Looked at the K&N filter on fleabay K&N Panel Air Filter or are Pipercross better? Front upper Strut Brace: Again ebay however if anyone knows any other sources that are worth recommending please do... Firstly i found this on ebay, Cheaper FUSB £39 Or is it worth splashing out abit more?? Slightly more expensive FUSB £79 I really have no idea, so some guidance and your suggestions would be great!! Cheers
  3. ye thats a bit far!lol Yes only 540 miles for me but well worth it :D :D I hope that 540 was there and back! :o I'm looking into WIM'img mine, last service they said i had abit of inner edge tyre wear which i've read is a problem WIM'ing can relieve... does it really have a huge effect on the handling??? Cheers
  4. Haha, they do look good indeed... i realise i might have alienated the chaps with blue calipers... ooopps Glad you guys like the brakes, waiting for the weather to change so I can paint me back calipers...
  5. Haha, sorry my poor english mate Is there like a main warehouse that the Lexus Dealership's use to source there parts from if they don't have them in stock??
  6. Haha, indeed it was... a very switched on cookie, wasn't sure if i could mention his name... Hopefully get it on Saturday... if it arrives through all this snow... Where do is this magically Lexus Store facility???
  7. Cheers for the link, Yeah i had a look on ebay but inc postage it would of set me back over £70 and the guy at the dealership could get me one that was a fairly close paint match for just £40, so i was willing to respray it if really needed it. Hope the weather improves for you, could you post some phots when ur finished as its on my to-o list as well... David
  8. Yeah by the sounds of it tryin to get hold of a sports grille may become very difficult as several Dealership's i spoke to only have 4 colours available to them now, at just over £40 each But ring round different Dealerships, as some are more switched on than others... i recommend Sheffield Lexus, the chap there had a hunt round there system and managed to source me a blue one... four other dealerships i spoke to only offered me the "standard" remaining four colours... black, silver, cream, granite.
  9. From the pics I can see why you made the trip over there to see it.... shame it wasn't brilliant in real life. I take it all the interesting stuff he didn't want you to see was on the opposite side to the 2 photos.
  10. Keith, Sorry to here about the fine mess "the car shop that shud never be named" got you into.... Where did you eventually source a decent paint match from?... My paint code is also 8n8 Dark blue Mica, looking to re-spray a Sports Grille when i get my hands on one, and like you i'd rather not entrust the job to the chimps that work there.... Cheers
  11. Winner!! Excellent, thanks for for that Rig-Pig that was exactly wat i was after. It looks good, i can't see the mismatch in colour unless you told me. I think i'll get the Royal Sapphire one from the Dealership. Cheers
  12. Hmmm looks v.nice... very tempting but just don't have the money...
  13. Awesome, thanks for the advice will have a hunt around.... Discovered that my car isn't in Royal Sapphire (ooops) but a variation of Navy Blue code 8n8 Apparently Lexus don't produce grilles in that colour but according to one Lexus Dealership i spoke to if i bought a Royal Sapphire one you wouldn't really notice the colour difference too much... is this true? Does anyone else have this colour combo goin?? Cheers
  14. Hmmm not too sure, have you checked the fuses for the SatNav? Have a look in this manual IS200 manual The particular diagram your looking for is Lexus SatNav Circuit diagram This tells you all the fuses you need to check. However If its powering up, then it doesn't sound like a fuse to me. Best bet is to speak to your local dealership, as it sounds like a problem with the SatNav ECU unit it self. Sorry i can't b anymore help.
  15. Morning, i need alittle help... Been ringing round trying to get a sports grille from my local dealerships after reading suggestions on a few post here, but it seems that Lexus don't make them in my colour anymore, its the standard Royal Sapphire (i think). Does anyone know where i could get one from? And for how much? Cheers
  16. Thanks for the comments guys, I thought about painting them blue but thought that might be a tad too much blue for one car!
  17. While replacing my discs and pads on the front brakes, (with Blueprint Discs and Mintex Pads) i bought some sliver brake caliper decals off Ebay and as you have to take both your calipers and torsion mount off i thought it might be a good idea to paint my front brake system. Used a wire brush and various cloths and thinners to clean the brake dust off, then used some Hammerite Smooth Black. After afixing the decals i obtained from Ebay, i finished it off with a couple of coats of clear laquer. What do you guys and gals think? I'm quietly chuffed. B) Next is to change the rear pads and paint the rear system, will post some pics when i get it done. Cheers FiZiX
  18. Awesome, that looks proper smart. Don't mean to be the devils advocate but... it must be really noisy when you reverse now, with the parking sensor unit making noise aswell as the alert you get for putting the car in reverse??
  19. Rite, no photos i'm afraid but it was the 7.5A TV fuse located in the Passenger Side Fuse panel. I have a technical drawing attached below. Hope this help others Fuses.pdf
  20. I think every bloke would cry alittle on the inside if they saw that... would not want to be the two delivery blokes!
  21. Kool, cheers for the advice guys... I evenutally went out and bought 2 Blueprint discs for £57 each from Davmac and a set of Mintex pads for £24 from Sutton Auto Factors. I'll let you know how it goes.
  22. Kool, cheers for that reganlives. Just had a quote for set of Mintex pads and Quinton Hazell Discs £102.10 for a full front set. Doesn't sound to bad, never heard of Quinton Hazell they any good?
  23. Morning, Its time to replace my discs and pads on the front, i've been looking on internet (mainly ebay) and ring round car part dealers. Mintex seem only to be available online, Blueprint and Apex are all in stock at my local car part dealers. Apex come in at the bargin price of £93.33 for full set front (discs and pads) Had a quote for set of Mintex pads and Quinton Hazell Discs £102.10 for a full front set. Blueprint come in at the price £160.00 for full set front. Not sure what to go for, any suggestions? Cheers
