hello all....my drive belt [fan belt] tensioner pulley has started to make a noise for a few seconds first thing..my question is does the whole thing need to be replaced or can i replace just the pulley or in fact can the bearing just be replaced..if so does any one know of any suppliers etc?...gs300 1998 s reg..many thanks for any input david

hello again just a little update...took my car to mr exhaust in reigate and spoke to a nice gentleman called stuart..car put on ramp and big hole fount in underfloor cat..bad bit cut out and new bit welded in and repairs to 2other small blows done.warranty given for work and back home in a nice quiet lexus again aaaaaahhhhh bliss..would recommend them to anyone..total cost=£60.....18,london road,reigate,surrey..rh2 9hy..tel no=01737 243900 ask for stuart and expect a long call has he likes a chat..lol thanx for all the input david

managed to find part including vat/del for £140.32 with 2year warranty which i think is not that bad.going to put on mates ramp this week to make certain it is that part..too flaming wet here to be crawling underneath cars..lol

hello been searching for a diagram of the exhaust system of my 1998 gs300 has trying to identify which part to look for[between down pipes and centre silencer]..or if any one knows of a good place to buy from..local motor factors to me dont seem to have any diagrams or pricing..thanx for any help given david

having owned my ls400 for a number of years and being my 2nd car im now down to just 1 car.had to stay with lexus so went and got meself a gs300 se 1998..just cant beat that lexus quaility and the wafting along..just a couple of things to sort =radio lcd pixels nearly going and the n/s/f door will not lock/unlock with the central locking does fine when using key in lock..but very lucky considering what i paid for her... many thanx david

does the same on mine when sunroof is left open but only on tilt.only needs to be left open ever so slightly aswell.hope this works has a very cheap fix.....lol

Thanks for the info David, ordered a set thursday for my father-in-laws LS400, arrived friday morning and fitted myself this morning. £36.75 all in. superb. Bit tricky getting old ball ends out but found best way was to gently cut old strutt ends then fitted ball ends to new strutts, took 20 mins, job done. Also agree very nice firm to deal with. Ahhhh the talking of a man who hasn't had a Lexus for very long..... the above phrase doesn't sit well with a Lexus.... And I was refering to "Lexus4302001" as these features are on the 430, I don't know about the 400..... Hi You check your oil every time you start up, there is no need to get your hands dirty, you have an electronic dip stick and you will be warned via the dash if you need oil, or water, or screen wash, or brake fluid etc etc. Pete cant beat getting your hands dirty pete.nor can you beat seeing oil level with your own eyes because has we all know electronic gaggets thingy things do go wrong and dont always work

check mine every week but get bored because not much else to do after that.does not burn it or lose it....not sure how often you check yours tho
