  1. Nice to see the pics. Lucky for me the local Open Road had the LFA. I managed to drive all the cars (except LFA) and the IS-F twice (second time around managed to persuade the driver to go off route onto a dual carriageway for a real demo! Boy did it move and roar! over 4k revs it goes insane! When I drove the LS600 it was without a driver maybe changed there minds after a few events drove really strange in comfy mode so glad I found the sports mode :-)
  2. More pictures in the Gallery, enjoy!

  4. Just returned from the Lexus Open Road 2011. If you have never been to one of these events then I highly recommend you take a look. Friendly Lexus staff no pressure, pure enjoyment. Need to wait for the IS-F & LS 600h, but the rest available to try. LFA on display (can't test drive this one}
  5. This happens when you replace the battery. Simply visit each door (not the driver ones) in turn and lower the window fully and keep holding down for a few seconds close the window and repeat for the other ones. Normal function should then return to the driver controls. You said the individual ones don't work (check you haven't pressed the window disable button on the drivers door). Regards Wozza
  6. When it comes to winter tyres the smaller the better. The smallest you can put on a 220/250 are 16" with 205/55/16 Tyres (without changing any speedo set up etc). If you look around hard enough you can pick up a used Lexus alloy for around £20 - £40 in an average state (bit of kerb damage but structurally sound) you can then fit a winter tyre of your choice. Does drastically change the look of your car but the difference is astounding, you can drive in the snow!
  7. Having enjoyed my Lexus for six months is time to sort out a few things. I have tried to sort out my steering wheel and not having much luck! Looks like the previous owner never cleaned it. I enclose some pictures as its easier to explain. The first picture shows what looks like dried out leather and has a sandpaper texture to it. The second shows creases. I have tried cleaning with leather cleaner and conditioner which had some effect but its still not much better. What I really need is some good advice on how to fix these issues and recommendations on products that can help as clearly the generic stuff just does not work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards Wozza
  8. Talking about auto folding I was playing around with my mirror controls one day and found a querk on the pre 2009 models that may help others. As the mirror fold is a press on/off switch you can have the mirrors auto unfold when you press the ignition button. When parking fold your mirrors in as usual Turn ignition off Press mirror button again (whilst power is off) Next time you press the ignition the mirrors will auto unfold. Now I know its not totally automatic but its half a job and once you get into the routine you never drive off with your mirrors folded, now non of us have done that!
  9. As you have found out, you just can't copy MP3 to a DVD and expect them to play, which is disappointing. Even DVD-Audio does have some issues. To work around this problem I use Audio DVD creator which allows you to drag and drop 100's of MP3's and sort them in any order you wish. Ensure 'AutoPlay' is enabled and then you do not need to interact via the screen, simply use the next track buttons to skip tracks. It is a fudge I know but at least you can now store much more MP3's than you would on CD's. Hope this helps Wozza
  10. You need to find the 'L' Shape type adaptors as the standard ones don't fit. I found mine at the local T-Mobile shop for under a tenner. Regards Wozza
  11. Well with a lot of help from LOC my car will be going to Lexus for its final time under the Manufacturers Warranty this week to replace blistering Alloys. They say they will give it a once over for any other faults but asked if they wanted to check anything specifically. Now my question is, although I have an extended warranty (purchased car from Lexus), what are the best things to check for. The Alloys are the obvious ones as these are not covered on the extended warranty. But are there others? Hopefully this may be of use to others. Common faults already checked. Cold start issues Lightsaber ratchet sounds Steering and Brake recalls done Dash rattles Regards Wozza
  12. Just wanted to introduce myself and share my first Lexus experience. Being a 'normal' car driver for many years I have decided now is the time to own my first Luxury car. It has been one hell of a ride, and months in the planning, but I have finally found the Lexus I was after and signed on the dotted line. Well what did I get? Well thanks to all the useful information on this site I managed to discount diesel and manual IS 220/250's and also taken advice to go for the SE-L with added Multimedia but no sunroof as I am over 6", and 17" Alloys. So I will be picking up an Astral Black, Black Pembroke Leather IS250 SE-L Auto MM, 56 Plate with just under 50,000 miles (Service in as part of the deal). It has wiped me out financially, but I guess you only live once! Roll on pick up day (Friday).
