    New Alloys

mmm like the first set as well personally, id say 18's purely as im a bit of a huge wheel hater for price hikes from 18" rubber to 19" is a little steep!
  3. nope... no1 willing to share their secrets to the apparently un-tunable engine lol
  4. yeh your reason over fuel efficiency is same for my reason for wanting one over power lol. they are pretty cars, and well once ive got the coilover kit on, "played" with the diff ill have a comfortable daily commute drifter ;-) thats not that bad on fuel! un-related or rather very! turbo kits for the is200.. i know superchargers are about 3k / 2k 2nd hand but how much is a turbo kit..? ive found one on prolex, but doesnt state a price and i was just wondering for future "upgrades"
  5. wow lol, im liking the lexus more and more hahah, so its more economical then bmw as they just reach 28 mpg ish and is NOT a cmoon car and looks like a lean mean fuel drinking beast (the is200 does look aggressive i think) with GOOD fuel read back, does the lexus have an on board computer to tell u mpg, and range etc?
  6. wow im surprised some are able to claw the 35mpg! looks like if i need to save tad on fuel driving like and old man and general economical driving i can eek 35 out my daily run!!!!
  7. ripping out anything let alone flywheels sounds expensive, due to lack to HUGE power im looking into fitting a hydro handbrake into the car only thing now is where to put it as unlike the bmw's etc i dont really want to be cutting the lexus centre console up as its going to be a bit more expensive...
  8. cool thanks for that, just nice to know, when ur planning future stuff. if it concerned me that much i wouldnt pick a more un-economical and slower car lol, all my mates that drift have bmw's and after going out in daves yellow altezza, (i know different engine etc) but its just a nice car! and i love driving :D
  9. yeh i know the 328 is faster but its a bmw and i dont want to be ANOTHER BLOODY bmw lol. i like the look and reaction from an is let alone how awesomely mean they look sideways :P
  10. live in winchester, hampshire looking fwrd to gettin my IS200 in june ahhhh!
  11. no im not threating about the fuel cost ( ive been deciding against a 328 bmw which is far from economical either lol. just intresting to see some figures as i didnt have a clue just ppl poo poo'ing the is as usuall! my run to uni is 8 miles A road at constant 60, then like 10 miles motorway at a good 70 and then 7 miles of rubbish town driving! Another quick question the VVTI bit of these engines ive been told is similar (not as good obviously) as honda vtec idea that kicks in about 6k revs that true? edit: i currently drive a 1.9 TD golf so personally as long as its about 30 mpg ill be happy as a cost to just smile at when im behind the wheel of an IS200 , by the way i cant wait till june when i get an is200!
  12. hello guys and girls, search gave 0 results so thought id make new topic. Ive heard the mpg on the is200 is comparitivly rubbish in relation to performance, but how bad is it really? ppl able to quote there mpg usgae and the driving area / style etc car / mods made: usage: town, mtorway etc pedal behaviour: mashing it to the floor or gental drive, even a granny drive pace lol?
  13. Thats bloody smart is that! copy and pasted to save this ready for when i get my lex. Top job and attention to detail!!
  14. hi guys and girls, wondered what the best mods to do to the is200 performance wise are, from small things like intakes and exhausts to chargers and turbo's be interesting to have a list of what people have fitted and how highly they rate the mod. Havnt found anything through search so thought this would be a good collective idea collection! :winky:
  15. so how does this cover work, im sure im wrong but it sounds like u cut the shape of the part out and stick the metal cut out on top?
  16. OHHHHHHHH whats the shiny bit in your engine, and is that cool colourful pipe ur induction kit? like the look of that :D
  17. yay dave i found u on here lol. one of the above pics with the guy holding the silver camera in passenger seat is me!!! I was SOOOOOOO impressed with the altezza! Ive passenger whored ALOT of cars and had little go my self in couple but daves beast was planted, powerful, and felt so controllable. i BADLY want 1 but i only have around £2600 to spend on my next car in june so will have 2 be a is200, just hope it can be a little bit like this was! again thanks for taking me out in it dave was a eye opener!
  18. im not looking at serious gains, just little tweaks to make it just that little bit better. it is mainly a daily drive car and when it gets wet / opportunity arise the back may step out a bit (when on private track land of course). its to nice of a car to not get purley down to 40bhp or so and im not a fan of common cars is200 is just that little something different.
  19. right! i think im gona go down the is200 route... i know its not as fast etc etc but its a nicer car, not anywhere near as common as the 3 series and figure if im gona be forking out for coilovers etc its gona be a reasobly serious drift/daily comute car, figure whislt at uni for nxt two years have fun in it and when i finish if the performance is actually as bad as i think it may be ill swap in something like a ls400 engine or soarer twin turbo lump lol! what key modifications would u suggest to some1 looking to get just that bit more poke from it i know it wont be wounders but what little things that make just a little bit more difference are advisable.. i heard you cant re-map is200's? is it true and if so what other similar style things can be done and what sort of gains are we looking at! exhuast system how much will that add etc etc..
  20. well at the mo im completely in the air about the lexus. I understand its not a fast car. but i FEAR the problems i currently have arrising. i have my first car at the mo a 1.9 td golf puching all of 75 bhp lol. and tbh its frustrating lol. over taking is fine but always points where u just wish i had power. hence the next car although a drift car will be a daily hack into uni (50 mile round trip) when spending just over £2500 on a car im going to be wanting something that i sit in on the road and feel dam wish id brought the 328i... its a good driving car and will basicly be a "serious" car for me if im going to be spending on parts because they dont come cheap need 2 make sure its not money wasted on a car thats never really gong to have any potential.. but if comparing it to a 328i SE 4d 6.8 s 149 mph 193 bhp is never going to pay off mayb i am better spending money on the common not as pretty bmw.. I just like the lexus so much is frustrating when capped by money not to be able to get a 300 or alteza with the beams engine!
  21. yeh im not so sure my self now i have 2 admit, i cant insure a 200sx full stop lol. went out in an altezza this weekend at drift day and that was loverlly to skid, but there ALOT of money. so undecided yet as to what im going to do what ur help has been very much appreciated! great bunch of informative ppl :D
  22. oh god really? im gona have 2 shed some weight in the car and see what options r available, how much would turbo kit cost?
  23. yeh will weld the diff (i know my stuff dont worry) yeh coilovers arnt cheap for them! but if this is gona become something awesome in few years time will make them worth it!
  24. im not really the traffic light racer, which is proberlly just as well, (i currently own a mk3 td golf on coilovers) and thats a fun car but slloooww with 75bhp 140odd bhp of is200 should do me i hope, as long as it'll beat the boyed up saxo im a happy man...
  25. yeh big balls lol. yeh im quite clued up on it, been to fair few drift days with my mates up at trampdrift west and this weekend off to crail had a lot of passenger rides and had a little go myself, but power is helpful in keeping u there once on the locks lol just so long as its got enough that power wont be limiting factor thats fine :D
