sorry, only just seen this :( ok, bonnet is £307.59 + vat retail but I can do it for £270.68 + vat . The only problem would be delivery :(

Plus it would need to be painted locally to you for colour matching.

:( i'm gonna go second hand, if the car was worth more and i'd had a better month at work i'd see what I can get from my local dealer while its hard to deliver from yourself, altho if i'd had a better week out of work i wouldn't need it at all, lol, i've managed to manipulate mine so it sits fairly straight and i'll make do for now, plus the guy I bumped is trying to shaft me for his repair lol, can't blame him tho

Sorry to hear that :( you dont have to accept his quote if you think it is inflated, get him to take it to a bodyshop you know for a second quote to see how it compares :) that is if you are paying for the repairs yourself rather than insurance.

Yes I remember Patrik saying the badge off the airbox needs to be trimmed down slightly to make it fit properly.

I ask because the badge on the IS300 is available to buy seperately :)

Now that is very interesting information, do you know how large it is? Rory any chance you could measure the size of the logo on the airbox?

How much is it, if it's not too expensive I might be willing to try this out and see if it works :winky:

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Lexus badge on an IS300 engine cover is the same size as an IS200 airbox?

I ask because the badge on the IS300 is available to buy seperately :)

hi mate,well it depends on how bad the pitting is on the piston this is were common sense comes into it if it looks really bad replace it they are not to costly approx £20-£30...

your kidding??^^^^^^^^^^^^ done lots of these!!

ill start with the most common

1)the lower piston of the caliper seizes which due to the piston not retracting makes the pads move/rub on the piston causing squeeks knocks and bangs hence why copperslip stops the problem(normally till it melts off or rubs off),one thing most tecs will push the piston back and say its not seized not the case if its even slighly hard to push back remove the piston and check!!!

so on we go to warped flanges....

the heat generated by a slightly sticking caliper is amazing so the disk gets very very hot so does everything its attached too ie the flange,the flang can only get so hot so many times before it warps.

2)slides are the second one...no point in buying new ones because they can be cleaned up easy at worst you buy new slider boots and grease them up...

No, I am not kidding. Most of the IS200s we see here are 1 owner cars owned by the more mature generation :) we probably have the lowest mileage cars in the country around here :)

We have had a few stuck or seized calipers but no warped discs.

Hello everyone - I am the very proud owner of a 2008 RX400h and this is my first post so please be gentle !

I tried the search engine, but could not find what I was looking for.

I want to fit a detachable tow bar to my car to tow a caravan. Have no issues with the mechanical bit, but need to know if there is a plug in the wiring loom that you can just plug the towbar electrics into, and is such an electrical cable with the correct loom plug available from a Lexus dealer (anyone know the part number?)

Also another question but not Lexus related. Do you have to have twin electrics to tow a caravan, or can you get away with a single electics setup.

I just called Lexus Guildford and for the bootlid without the lamp painted is £550. Crikey!

AClex - Is that for the boot lid that the break light will fit into? Where is that from, Lexus?

Ouch, that price is just for the spoiler and that is + vat :(

A new bootlid with the spoiler mounting holes predrilled is £171.86 + vat but you would have the cost of spraying on top of that.

Plenty on sale on ebay mate for £100-£120.

And yep, there are 2 core thicknesses- OEM is 27mm and patterned part is 16mm. I have had a 16mm core radiator fitted to my IS200 since 2007 (it has done nearly 50k since being fitted) without any problems.

OEM is either 27mm or 16mm depending which was fitted at the factory.

Just checked all IS200 master cylinders and they are specific to each model only :( they are not used on any Toyota models at all.

Hello, I have recently had problems with my brakes and have come to the conclusion that it is my master cylinder. I have contacted my local dealer as to a price on a new one and this is £300 + VAT!!! very expensive!! Also Lexus have witheld the information to motor factors and it you are unable to purchase a new one from a universal company.

My question is, from previous experience I know that braking parts are bought in when the cars are being produced, whether this from bosch, AP, brembo etc i do not know.... but what i do believe is that this master cyliner must be fitted to another car on the market??

Hopefully if i can find this out I wil be able to source the part much cheaper from a motorfactor stating the different car model.

Can anybody help me on this??

Providing the corrosion has not been caused by kerbing, stonechips or any other kind of damage then they should be replaced as long as the car is still under its manufacturer warranty :)

Nothing wrong with a Cat C or D as long as they are repaired ok and you pay a good price for them :)

Had a Cat C Primera GT for years after a light front shunt no probs at all :)
