  1. crikey-personally i think you can buy a much lower mileage one than that for the money- good luck tryin to find out if that one is due a cambelt(by rights it should of had 3 i think) if its full service history check the service records and try and find record of three new cambelts to know if the history is kosher this is only my opinion and i take no responsibility for absolutely anything
  2. cheers guys, still trying to get jayson goin again - similar problem
  3. do you have to reprogramme ecu after a throttle body change ?
  4. lmao-i was thinkin the same,it does look good-accelerometer,g force measurer, adjustable redline warning beep like on a scooby, allsorts plus the obvious uses like code reading and resetting-plus you can use it on any obd car so you can use it in your mates cars too
  5. google :- REV by dev toaster , sorry i dont know how to do a link ie www.devtoaster.com
  6. im just trying to find it now-hang on a min and ill get straight back to you
  7. no i know its a bit pricey-its new though so will get cheaper-you can get the wifi obd sender for 69 quid- i havent seen a wired version-
  8. yea - droplinks arrived from taiwan in four days - booked in at wim next week
  9. if you are into gadgets you can buy a wifi obd sender which plugs in your obd port in your lex and connect your ipod touch or iphone up as a fault reader or as gauges etc-thought lots of us have ipods or iphones and love gadgets so might be of interest to someone
  10. ive got a feeling a lot of countries require you to have a high visibility vest in your boot in case of breakdowns - worth checking if it avoids a possible fine
  11. doplinks coming fromthe guy in taiwan who advertises from fife on ebay-half the price of anyone else i could find plus quite a few members on here rate his products well,i spoke to tony at wim and hes happy to fit them. i doubt i will be that lucky but some customers on his feedback say they got the part in four days ie- i may get mine tomorrow- anyway im aiming to get to wim next wednesday hopefully, gonna take the missus shopping maybe bluewater on the same trip to keep her happy for spending on the car. and i just got my hands dirty on it for the first time-only hiding sat nav wires away behind dash etc(i hate dangly wires and cigarette lighter power plugs everywhere) glad to see your still moving on with your v8 is? ,, what do we call it ? IS400T ? are you sure there wont be any issues putting the fuel pump next to the battery asi ? youll have to make sure your wiring at the battery is spot on -as im sure you will - just to avoid any sparks and fuel fumes mixing type event
  12. update- 2 x KYB shock absorbers arrived toda y at 10am - ordered monday, delivered thursday thanks for the advice guys just waiting for 2 droplinks now before i can book it into wim
  13. hello mate, glad you got home ok-just private messaged you re parts
  14. lol, well it looks like the cavalry arrived-problem is jayson is probably broken down somewhere-im sure he will be glad of a throttle body tho stav-especially as it comes from a known source-do these fail often on 200s then ?
  15. as kam said- you could also try PARTFINDER , you type in the part you want and its sent off to all the breakers yards, then whoever has one rings or emails you, should be able to get one delivered to you, sorry mate i hoped it was going to be easier to fix than that-at least you know where the problem is now though- i havent got a clue how hard they are to fit but im sure the guys on here can advise
  16. ormi i like these-in theory couldnt you have them any colour you like as they only come on when the car is stationary ? also surely this would be a legal and useful use for all those old stock neons halfrauds must have lying about,i wouldnt want neons but would like a red glow ie led strips or something similar-can you get waterproof led ones ? puddle lights would come in handy for me as i got a special needs child and he can get nervous when its dark not to mention clumsy- oh no you might have started me on the modding trail
  17. had all the above done at lexus last week £850 inc vat parts and labour - you should be able to get it done much cheaper by an independant garage (but i couldnt find one near me) also evryone reccomends toyota for the same quality job but much cheaper.
  18. WOW THEYRE COMPLETELY DIFFRENT CODES FROM THE INDY GARAGES ARENT THEY-? theres a full list of codes on here somewhere-i dont know where but search under codes-obd codes-diagnostic codes- should turn them up
  19. good luck with it-lexus will be able to fix it-i for one would be interested to hear what the problem is
  20. i wouldnt hold my breath on the aa carrying the parts to fix your car or obtaining them and then fitting them when they get them(unless its a new service i havent heard of) but they may do if as you say you wait for that part of your cover to kick in before you report this fault. I had a mooch about on ebay last nite for you and couldnt see a cheap crank sensor anywhere-but if youve got a breakers yard near you phone around and see if theres a lexus being stripped and if you can get there buy a 2nd hand crank sensor and a coil pack- in my opinion 2nd hand parts like these arent worth much unless you know and trust the guy you buy off-coil packs fail on all cars on a regular basis, the crank sensor in my experience fails less often but can still go-so try and pay next to nothing for either of these parts from a scrappers, although this could fix your car it might not as 2nd hand parts could be faulty. The guys on here can post a link to the manual on the is200 so you get a clue what parts are where or its on here somewhere if you search. You could have anything from a loose wire, blown fuse upwards to cause a fault like you describe- coil packs can come and go sometimes but its rare for them to start working again once they go wrong-coil packs also sometimes give off a burning smell when theyre going or gone-so if youve noticed a funny burning smell when youve opened the bonnet that could be a clue. a coil pack failing is going to give you a misfire. a crank sensor failing would most likely stop your car a loose wire to the crank sensor or a bad connection would probably cause the problems you describe. ALL THESE IDEAS ARE JUST ME RAMBLING REALLY-I AM NOT A MECHANIC SO PLEASE DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY ON ANYTHING WITHOUT CHECKING WITH A MECHANIC as i cant be held responsible !!
  21. yup if you have relay ask them to take your car to lexus, why havent you called them when you broke down ? i would imagine they would have a code reader. Id be more worried about getting the car home if you find lexus give you a price to fix thats too much money for you-however you could push it off the forecourt and ask aa to take you home again. Make sure you have the relay part of cover and i think you get 3 callouts a year or something similar without a premium increase
  22. hello mate-sorry i just checked ans cant see a pm- i would thoroughly reccomend them, youve been dwelling on this for ages, take the plunge in brighton,,, lol,,, i tested the water & its fine
  23. have u got aa or rac relay just in case-they could tow u to lexus if you dont make it
