  1. Oh, don't fancy kerbing those wheels or running over the merest of lumps on the road with those super low tyres!!
  2. Hi, this also happened to me last month and when I called the dealer they gave me the number for the AA, all part of the service. When I took it to the dealer afetr the AA had started it, they advised that the battery was not holding a charge, which they replaced under warranty. The service advisor also said that the car used power when not in use for system monitoring etc and that as a minimum it should be run every couple of weeks. All been fine since, love the car and the way it drives and how it makes me feel
  3. A friend of mine bought some snow socks, not for rear wheel drive though. He is a traffic copper and should now, but he swears by them. £55 from Halfords or some other and you can drivewith them on, not just to get you out of a snowy hole. Might be worth a try.
  4. Thanks for the replys. I thought at times that the windscreen was going to cave in because of a temperature difference or that a brick had been thrown from another vehicle. I will contact the dealer on Monday and get it looked at. Cheers!!
  5. I have experienced a loud crack coming from either the dash board or the windscreen as my car warms up, is something about to break?
  6. Hello Lexus world! I am getting helpful messages from my car, telling me that my fob battery is low, does anyone know where I can get a replacement? The few filling stations that I have tried have been useless. Thanks
  7. What is the difference in the turbo lag between the Sport and Non-sport versions, can a Non-sport version be made to be the same as a Sport??
  8. A ridiculous question really, but has anyone tried to swap their 245 rears with the 225 on the front?
  9. Hi, I have just bought my first Lexus and first impressions are fab fab fab. I was wondering though about the recalls that are much talked about here. I asked the squealler if they had all been done and he said that they had but too quickly. Where could I go to find out if my car had all the work done necessary? Thanks
  10. Has anyone has any experiences of Glasgow Lexus and their servicing?
  11. Saturday was a good day. I picked up my car from the garage, black 220 SE-I with cream interior. It is fab!!!!!! Was reading some horror stories on the forum, but I can only say that none of them apply to me. I just want to drive and drive. Looking forward to a weekend away this weekend and the long drive that goes with it. I am so glad that I have bought it and look forward to every drive. Will be back on for an update after the weekend. Big happy smile on my face :D
  12. Guys, thanks for the positive vibes. let's look to the brightside from now on. Can't wait to get my lovely black car on the road!!!
  13. Thanks for that, I will have to wait and see how I get on.
  14. Hi, I am new to diesels and a bit of a thicko. Could someone please tell me what an EGR valve is?? Apologies for the banal question
  15. Hi, I am due to pick up an is220d next week some time and was looking forward to it, until I joined this forum. There appears to be a lot of bad press and I am sure maybe for good reason. I am trading in a X-Type 2.0 V6 which I enjoyed very much, but a change was due. I was also a member of the Jaguar forum and the constant that I have found is that there is always someone to grumble and there are always common faults no matter what make and model. I know that it should not be that way as we are spending alot of money on something that is only depreciating, but one car is no different from another in reliability really. There may be fewer issues with BMW and Audi, and perhaps they should be the bench mark, but, technology aside have they changed their basic design that much? They should be near perfect. Ultimately your choice of transport it is down to a few key items, price, looks, personal preference and practicality. Don't knock it. The real horror stories aside, which apply to any marque, I am sure that cars are generally fine, we are all different and have differing experience and experiences, just as well I say. I am looking forward to owning my car and discussing other topics on the forum.
