  1. Dont you have to be Gold to sell things on here?
  2. Can't beat a nice set of 18" 6 spokes Uploaded with ImageShack.us (the kerbing wasn't me)
  3. me too, It was an absolute bitch to drive once the steering wheel started shaking.
  4. sorry that was £110 for the caliper including fitting. I should be more clear. Got the pads and front discs off ebay for £89 i think it was. Was toying with the idea of fitting them myself but I dont trust myself to fix something as vital as the brakes. don't fancy them failing at 80mph on the motorway cause i didnt tighten something correctly.
  5. I'm afraid i just got my garage to order it, but its gonna cost me £110. I have seen them on ebay but i couldn't vouch for the quality of them. sorry i couldnt be of more help to you.
  6. Problem solved, Apparently I have a ruined caliper. Its sticking on the near side. which has therefore caused the disc to warp. New caliper ordered along with mintex discs and pads. Hopefully that sorts the problems out, otherwise i shall be annoying everyone again.
  7. there are quite a few potholes on the road i take to and from work so chances are I have hit one of them. cheers for the reply, will get it looked at tomorrow.
  8. Today when driving at around 50-60mph the steering wheel was wobbling from left to right at a ridiculous rate. This has never happened before. Do I need to get the wheels rebalanced/tracked or does is indicate something more sinister.... cheers

    Why?

so after getting home tonight i checked all the hoses around the brake fluid sensor, there seems to be no leaks or any sign of leaking in the past... anything ideas as to what i could try next would be good. And if anyone knows why the brake sensor would have been spliced that too would be handy. many thanks for the replys

    Why?

I see, I wish cars were simple and one light meant one thing. the brakes are very good actually, but i will check the pipes for leaks to double check.

    Why?

It's good to make sure. Just been and fumbled around the dark and disconnected the brake fluid sensor (pulled out the wire) the light stays on once the brake pedal is released. So that narrows that down... maybe...

    Why?

LOL I know where its but cheers.. had the brakes serviced last week, had system bled and fluid changed. Is there a chance that the sensor could have broken?

    Why?

I'm not sure tbh. The handbrake light goes off when I let the hanbrake off. Could this still be an issue? If so I will investigate!

    Why?

I'm still in pursuit of trying to turn the handbrake light off on my car, it comes on when i press the brakes and doesn't go off. ALL brake bulbs have been checked/replaced including the rear parcel shelf light. So have been trying to work out what else might be causing this issue i.e bad connections. So i located and removed the brake sensor from above the brake pedal and found that it had been spliced into for some reason. this has been removed at some point and was just covered in electrical tape. (hence me thinking dodgy connection) I have ordered a new one so will see if this fixes the issue. But does anyone know why this would have been messed with? any ideas would be great
  15. they beep inside the car to tell the driver that they are in reverse. It took me a bit to get used to it but find it quite a handy thing to have really.
  16. mine beeps when reversing - 1999 manual
  17. Will keep that in mind for next time. Gutted I have stock taking at work this weekend so I'm not free. any other weekend is normally good but just bad timing. Keep me in mind if you meet up in the future. Would be very interested to see some more IS owners and what they have done to their cars. Cheers for the offer though
  18. continentals at £175 p/tyre including fitting. what tyres do you run?
  19. 2 x 215/40/18 continental tyres ordered. Blimey they weren't cheap, but needs must.... Lets hope they do the trick, Cheers for all the help
  20. Well that is good news. Shame i just put 2 news front tyres on it though. Might put the new 225's on the back as they seem to rub less often and put 215's on the front. So glad i dont have to resort to new alloys as I am quite fond of the ones I have. Will the 215's get rid of the rubbing alltogether? the other thing is I dont know what the offset of the alloys are! (Kahn RS-S 18x8) is there any way of me finding this out. Ive tried searching internet to find this out but can't find anything..... Cheers for the replys.
  21. My IS is on 18" alloys with 225/40 tyres, with standard suspension. when driving along good smooth roads the ride is fantastic. Stick it on country roads around Fife and I have a massive problem. The wheels are scraping on the arches, its a horrible noise to be hearing especially after putting two new front tyres on her. (Its also starting to effect the arches) So now i ask for advise, what are my options!? how can i fix it without resorting to 17" alloys. I'm thinking of putting coilovers on but i dont know whether these are going to solve my issues. Please help! Thanks
  22. Ok so today i disconnected the rear spoiler brake light and the handbrake light came on again when i pressed the brake. so now i have no idea. Does anyone know if the sensor on the brake fluid level can fail? causing it to believe there is no/very little brake fluid. I believe I am now clutching at straws and before i have to take it to the garage to be robbed for a diagnostics check would like to see if i can resolve this issue myself. Cheers
  23. i have changed the parcel shelf bulb, so all brake lights now work and have new bulbs. So it seems that the LED light is the issue. If anyone knows antone/thing to help me sort it without resorting to lexus then that would be good. If not then i might have to learn to live with it! Cheers for the fast replies
  24. The handbrake light has been on on my car from when i bought it (i got it cheaper due to this) I have had pads/discs and calipers all checked. Replaced all brake light bulbs so they now work and the light still remains to come on as soon as i touch the brake pedal...... I have since noticed that the rear spoiler brake light is LED. I believe that this may be causing the problem. I would assume there would have to be a resistor of some kind. but from here on in I am stumped. I dont know if this is causing a problem, if it is what do i need to do about it! Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if you think I am barking up the wrong tree any other advice would be great. Cheers
