  1. Sorry guys I missed all of these replies for some reason! This is the one I've put a deposit down on (wish I'd read the forum before doing that!!!): http://www.autodevotion.co.uk/norwich/used_cars.php?dgroup=9655&make=22 I dont know if you'll be able to see it as its supposed to be coming down to me on Wednesday for me to inspect. But if any of you pass that garage, a quick once over on the bodywork and interior would be MASSIVELY appreciated. ...or tbh, even if you could say you're checking it over on my behalf. I'll PM you my details.
  2. Replied. As mentioned in PM I wont be able to take pics until Wednesday, but I'll be looking for seats that are in same nick as mine.
  3. Just gauging interest at this point, but I wanted to see if anybody would have any interest in swapping their half leather IS200 black interior for my IS300 black full leather interior? The wifey doesn't like full leather unfortunately.
  4. Hi Guys, I've just put a deposit down on an IS300 that is being driven down to me on Wednesday for me to look at before buying. Obviously I will be checking the following: - General bodywork condition (rust / paint / resprays / filler etc) - Interior condition - Buttons, knobs and dials all working along with engine check light connection - Service history and stamps vs clock mileage (it apparently has 7 Lexus stamps and cambelt was replaced last year). - Knocks and bangs over bumps + any rattles It's coming from a dealership that will give me 3mths guarantee, but is there anything else I should be looking at? Or any faults specific to IS300?
  5. Hi Guys, Right, I think I've found my ideal IS300. The dealer says it's an immaculate example with only very minor stone chipping and no other dents or damage. HOWEVER, I live 90 miles away, don't drive at the moment and have nobody to take me there to see it. The dealer has offered to deliver it to me, but I don't want it to get here and then start noticing stuff after the deal has been done. So, I was wondering if any of you nice chappies live in Norwich and would be willing to give it the once over - maybe take it for a test drive if you have time. I'd obviously be willing to pay your petrol and would be forever in your debt. Jim
  6. Hi Guys, Well basically after only a month of owning my IS200 the wife has decided that she wants to start driving again. Unfortunately as she's only got an auto license the IS200 has to go and I'm looking to trade it in for an IS300 so I don't loose any performance by going to an auto. I'm willing to pay up to £2k cash for a trade-up providing the IS300 is a minter. If there's any interest I'll post the full details of my IS200. But basically it's a 51 plate, strathcarron blue, 60k on clock, VGC, full lex hist.
  7. Sorry dude, didn't get round to it. TBH the Mrs has been messing with my head. All of a sudden she wants to learn to drive, but she is insisting on learning in an Auto. So it looks like we may be trading the IS200 for a 300 instead If I could sway her into a manual my next issue would be that IS200's don't really seem to be shifting much at the moment. I've seen the same IS's on Autotrader for several months now :/
  8. I've actually seen a rather immaculate black one close by that's less than I paid for my 200. Only problem is that it was a CAT D write-off. Being a fairly old car now, I guess it could have been something rather trivial like someone keyed all the panels, or a little rear end shut. Of course it could also been slammed head-on into a tree. It's tempting tho...
  9. Okey dokey mate. Need to get my head straight on way to do with my IS200 here as well. Only bought it 4 weeks ago...oops :P
  10. Yeah tbh there's lots of things I'd like to do to it. But considering I want tints, sports bumper, skirts, zorst....I'm thinking it might be more economical to PX it for a pre-modded one when the time is right.
  11. Haha :) From what I've seen the 300's sell for about a grand more than the 200's on a 51-53 plate. However when I asked a dealer if they'd PX with me, they wanted £2k simply because they want to make a decent profit on my 200.
  12. Thought it was about time I said HI as I've already been sapping you guys of your knowledge for a couple of months already :D Here's some shots of my baby
  13. Cheers for all the replies guys. They'll go a long (well probably short) way to convincing the mrs. Whitey, here's my baby (SE model):
  14. Sorry, I meant that would be my reason for not choosing the RS200. The IS200 is plenty comfortable for the rug rats, and tbh I'm not keen on the GS's looks.
  15. Guys, I've been toying with the idea of changing my IS200 for either an RS200 or an IS300. My initial gut feeling is to go for the 300 as it will be cheaper to insure, less likely to have been ragged (due to auto tranny) and more comfy for the family. I've also heard reports of it doing 0-60 in 7.5sec which is pretty damn good. However, its going to cost me at least £2000 for the trade-in with a half decent IS300, so I'm after some feedback from people who made the switch 200>300. Did it seem much faster? Does it sound any more menacing? Do you miss manual transmission? Anything else I should be aware of? Just wanna make sure that I'm not going to be disappointed.
  16. Wickford mate. I did spend a few years in Waltham Cross tho which is probably closer to you?
  17. If you do end up selling it, you can come and visit it at weekends :P I'm probably only 30mins down the road from you (essex)
  18. She's a beauty mate! I absolutely love the black/white schemes. So clean yet striking.
  19. Sounds bloomin awesome azza. I would be very interested if you do decide to sell. Only issue is that I know you're goign to want a considerable amount of reddies for it which means I'd have to flog my IS first.
  20. Hi Guys, I'm on the look-out for an RS200 with reasonably low mileage (below 70k miles) that is in A1 condition. Preferably in any colour but silver, with tasteful mods like a TRD kit and a fairly stock engine. Will pay good money for the right car, or if you're looking to downgrade to something a little more insurance friendly, I have an IS200 SE for PX. Cheers Jim
  21. So all the stuff about 228/240bhp is loblocks basically? As there's no way really an IS200 could get tuned to that without SC/TC, and he'd make a point of mentioning that? Whats with the engine cover btw? Says Beams on it...or is that a Toyota phrase?
  22. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1707381.htm I'm a bit confused as to what the hell this is. The title says "AS200 228BHP", yet in the description he goes on to say "AS 200 RS 228 BHP" and then "ITS SPORTS AUTO AND THE 240 BHP MAKES IT A VERY FAST". Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the AS200 just the jap IS200 (same engine?) - in which case it'd be hard to get it 228/240BHP without some serious mods? I'm thinking that maybe its an AS300? I'm new to the Lexus/Altezza's so feel free to say I'm speaking cr*p and correct me :P
  23. Hi Guys, I just wanted to know if any of you had looked at getting an IS200 half/full leather interior inside a RS200? I really want to buy a tezza but the only thing that puts me off is the lack of refinement on the inside. I know it will slow the car down a tad, but I want the best of both worlds :P
