  1. As the title says guys, I'm looking to hear some feedback from you guys that are running with fibreglass front bumpers? I know they'll never be as strong as the OEM parts, but are they really as bad as some people make out? I REALLY want to change my front bumper, but its just impossible to get hold of the Legana one for example.
  2. Oh so very tempting. But I'm gonna have to sit out this one I think as I've got my heart set on a TTE bumper now.
  3. I'd quite like to have this done on my IS300 tbh. The paintwork isn't quite as flat as I'd like.
  4. Hi Guys, I've been looking at things to do to my IS300 in order to improve the performance. At the moment I've just replaced the manifold, bolted on a Japspeed catback and installed a K&N FIPK induction kit. My next step was going to be to swap the camshaft and camgear for some Brian Crower and HKS parts, but as these will be adding up to £1000 after purchasing and installing, it seems a little pointless for the 20-30hp they'll net. So, next step is normally Turbo or Supercharger. But as these cost anything from £2.5k-£5k, and the car is used 90% of the time for taking the wife and kids out and about, I'm not really going to be putting it to use on a regular basis. So it got me thinking about Nitrous - and more specifically nos delivered using a progressive controller (rather than a one squirt wonder). I've read around other forums that the IS300 engine is good for a 120hp shot of NOS which would obviously give a massive boost of power when needed. I'd probably air on the side of caution and go for something like 75shot though. Does anyone have any experience with NOS on the IS's, or any words of wisdom?
  5. :o just :o I dont suppose you noticed what nick it was in did ya? I know if I call em it'll probably be in "good" nick, only to waste my time getting there to find they've used it as a tea tray.
  6. loblox!!! And the flat sport spoiler is screwed into place isn't it? It'd be silly of me to hope that Lex may have just stuck it on with some 3M tape? :P Looks like I may have to play the waiting game for a good nick IS200/300 boot in black 2n2 with the spoiler I want on it. Though I may die of old age before.
  7. Hi guys, I've got one of the factory 'flat' sport style boot spoilers on my IS300 and I'm wondering if any of the other Lex spoilers share the same mounting holes? I'd specifically like to go for this one (sorry whoever's pic i nicked): But I really dont want to go through the trouble of having holes drilled/filled and spraying done.
  8. Cheers mate - I'll have another search. From what I can tell the windscreen has been replaced so that could be attributed to it, but considering how poorly fitting the plastic is, I'd hope that it doesn't play a part in keeping the water out :s
  9. Guys, On the way home from the New Forest yesterday I was going a few MPH over the limit and all of a sudden a large part of the plastic seal that runs down the drivers side of the windscreen lifted and started flapping about!! I pulled in at a service station and popped it back into place, but now I'm worried that it might happen again...or that my windscreen may leak? Does anyone have any advice on whether I should get it checked out, or is it just a cosmetic thing that can be resolved with some double sided tape? Cheers
  10. Glad it's not just me then. I may take it to a local mechanic to see if they can adjust it. I've not had to park it on a significant incline yet, but if it cant even hold against the cars creep, then it aint going to be much good on a steep hill.
  11. Hmm good point I'll have to check next time I'm out and about. It does seem to creep quite a lot. But nowhere near as much as it does in reverse. I swear that car does about 30mph in reverse without my foot on the pedal! lol
  12. I've just received a new one in the post as the paint is flaking off my passenger side one. Does anyone have any experience in replacing them? It looks like its held in place with two screws, but how to get at the screws on the existing one to remove it..i have no idea.
  13. Hi guys, I've just been getting settled in with my new IS300 but have been finding that the handbrake needs to be yanked up as far as it can possibly go to prevent the car from creeping forwards at the lights (Automatic). Is this normal, or should I get it checked out? Also those of you with Auto's, do you leave it in drive at the lights and hold it with the hand/brake, or do you slip it in park/neutral to save the brakes?
  14. Or how about these? ...and ROFL @ Besty! Mmmmmmm lingerie section of Kays catalog...
  15. Dont ya mean... Cars should be like women....Naked :D:D
  16. For you guys that took yours off - did you use the kettle of boiled water + floss trick?
  17. Yeah it's sitting a tad lower than I'd like, but the pics do make it look a lot worse than it really is. I'm hoping that when I add a rear skirt it'll look better.
  18. Intake installed :D Did crap myself when I saw the check engine light, then realised I hadn't plugged in the airflow sensor. Plugged it in and crapped myself agian when the light was still on. Pulled battery for a few minutes - Sorted :D
  19. Thanks :) Sorry it's my first venture into a car engine (yeah go ahead...laugh), so just wanted to make sure I didn't kill anything :)
  20. In which case the tube that K&N provide that goes from half way down the intake tube to the solenoid can be blocked off?
  21. Ok so I'm sitting here with my IS300 in peices looking for an "evap solenoid" that my K&N FIPK intake says should be attached to the bottom of my airbox. It's not..... HELP!!!!
  22. Yeah thats the only thing thats preventing me from whiping them straight off tbh. Even thought I'm not really a name snob, I'm not sure how I'd cope with the "hey, look we've got the same car" to the guy down the road that has a black IS200 :P I just want to be able to polish underneath them to be honest :s
  23. Cant believe there's a 50/50 split in votes...this is no help at all :P haha
  24. Just toying with PS to see if i prefer with or without. I _think_ i prefer without, but I'm after some other feedback :) badged: de-badged:
