  1. I thought the IS250 had a hard drive? If so I can't help, but if it still runs on disc then you need to purchase the later discs from 2009 on or borrow one to load, as once that's done the software change is permanent to allow changes on the move, even when you put your old disc back in. Thanks Tango, the cars still new and I'd not tried the sat nav out properly, just assumed it was like my 4 year old IS220d
  2. I'm new here & perhaps this is the done thing on this site, but I'm also a biker and this really makes my blood boil!! You lot are bad enough with food, phones and passengers, let alone watching bloody films whilst you're not looking at who you're trying to kill!! :tsktsk: I'll do 15k a year on a bike (currently a Ducati MTS 1200) and I find your comments a bit harsh. Many big bikes have Satnav systems that allow you to input data on the move, listen to music and make phone calls (even accessing you phonebook). I know because I have to do it myself all the time but always with great care and attention. I also have a IS250c and access to the satnav whilst on the trot is what I need (I have to admit, watching movies on the move is more than a little irresponsible). Can anyone help me with what I need to do to activate this function ? Thanks
  3. My IS220D 57 plate with 115,000 miles suffered the same symptoms. Owned from new and serviced every 10k, I purchased the extended warrantee. It was diagnosed as the head gasket ! The warrantee company decided that the gasket was not a 'mechanical part' and it took intervention at senior Lexus level to get them to pay for the 6K repair bill ! Decided to cut my losses and traded it in for a IS250C :-) Good luck
  4. I've just traded in my IS220D. At 115,000 miles the head gasket went. I had extended the warrantee but Lexus's warrantee company decided that a head gasket was not covered under warrantee as it was not a mechanical part !? Fortunately I had the dealership on my side and they eventually agreed to pay the £6K repair bill. Anyhow she's been traded in against a petrol auto IS250C.
