  1. Practical test is on 10th May. Just got to get my head around them gears. Apparently examiners don't like to see you pulling away in 7th...
  2. I reckon its all a big joke. Pete's gone to bed. He'll be taking the **** tomorrow.
  3. Nick, Sorry but I don't really find that funny ...... my friend died last year, broke down on M25. Lorry went straight into the back of him. Left a wife and 1 year old daughter. ← I apologise for that comment, it was an off the cuff response to what Mat posted. With hindsight, it is not something that should be laughed about and I apologise for any offence caused, none was intended. I wouldn't have laughed about it when I saw it on TV, so I shouldn't have done it now. I'm sorry.
  4. No I didn't unfortunately, but the marks I lost on that bit, I made up on the "How to fall asleep and crash into the back of something on the hard shoulder" bit. I aced on that question!
  5. By the way, just to take this thread a bit further off topic, I passed my HGV theory test yesterday!
  6. Hurry up then Pete, I want to go to bed soon.
  7. I had my Audi done a few months ago by a garage which had fitted my tyres. I didn't ask them to check it, but they did it anyway. On the way back home, the steering wheel wasn't straight and it felt like the car was just about to throw itself into a hedge on every corner, which if you've ever driven an S3 is not a normal handling characteristic! Ended up getting Audi to sort it out. Come to think of it, the same company did my GS when I had that, and the steering wheel wasn't straight then either. What causes this to happen? Is it when all the adjustment is carried out on one side? Lexus fixed this in the end. Should have learnt my lesson first time i spose...
  8. You'd be surprised at what Mat does with some threads... :o
  9. When I was younger I wanted to be a jockey. I was too tall though... And I weighed to much.... Used to ride around Southwell Racecourse occasionally though. Not all the way though, my pony couldn't make right round!
  10. This one for example. It wasn't exactly "off topic" now was it? Merely a developing discussion IMO... :D
  11. No problem... Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't misquoted!
  12. I don't recall saying that Matthew. I do agree with people being told to search actually, just don't agree with the manner in which new members in particular are being told.
  13. On the whole, I don't think that the forum is over-moderated, and generally speaking the moderators do a great job. Having said that, there are a couple of things which I personally think have gone a bit over the top of late. Search before you post This old chestnut has been covered elsewhere so I won't bring it up again. Going off topic I assumed that the change in the T&Cs was to stop people having long threads such as "The Monster" and "The Drift Car" hijacked and repeatedly being taken off in a different direction than the author intended. Recently though people seem to be getting jumped on when a thread deviates at all from its original subject even when the person who posted it isn't bothered. Please don't take this as a criticism (although that's exactly what it is I suppose ) of the moderators, just my personal point of view. Keep up the good work :)
  14. I do it all the time in Ifraz's car when he is driving along. It reminds me of the noise that you get on a plane when someone presses the button to get the attention of the cabin crew! Reminds me of going on holiday!
  15. PlusNet come highly recommended from me too.
  16. Couldn't agree more Matthew. It really winds me up.
