    Don't know whether anyone has mentioned this before, but it could be a dodgy wheel speed sensor. I had one pack up (twice) on my old BMW causing similar symptoms. Also, it wouldn't change up into any gear over 3rd unless I shifted it manually which was a bit worrying first time it happened. If you haven't done so already, its probably worth a trip to Lexus to get the fault codes read.

    I had something which sounds very similar on my GS. Can't remember the exact details, but it only ever happened once.

    start in P foor on the brake move selector to D drive stop foot on brake apply handbrake move selector to P remove key about all there is to it mate - you wont have a problem ← Kazdul, once this has sunk in, Matt will move onto Lesson 2 - Reversing

    I'm going to Manchester tomorrow as it happens... and Thursday... and Friday... To be quite honest, I've seen enough of the M1 and M62 to last me a lifetime this week. To make matters worse, I'm making the journey in a Vectra, which I keep nearly crashing because it doesn't overtake stuff as fast as my car. :P
