  1. feel so sorry for u dude, such a shame, hope u get sorted soon
  2. fitted a new earth temporarily to the relay today and bingo, we have lights again, i think this is defo a anti theft issue as i dont have a horn either, ive got a new ecu on its way, hopefully this will cure it, if not im going to bypass it with new feeds to the lights and horn because im not spending out loads of money on a fault that could re-occur, id rather sort it once and for all
  3. Yeh ive checked the fuse in the fusebox under the bonnet and thats fine (unless theres another in one of the other 2 fuse boxes) Ive checked it today with a tester, i have 12volts going to both + sides of the relay, if i put a 12volt feed to the switchlive then the lights come on, the earth seems to be fine, but has an intermitent pulse on its continuety. If i put the relay back in, it buzzes and i only get 8.2 volts at the headlights. any idea's? it seems to me that either the relay is at fault, or there is a bad earth to the relay causing it to pulse? Or is the relay controlled by an earth feed from the ECU? at the minute im thinking on running a new earth to the relay to try and solve the issue
  4. My is200 has HID's fitted and the other day the passenger side went out, followed by the drivers one starting to flicker 5 minutes later and then went off. The headlight relay now clicks continuously untill u either remove the relay or disconnect the ballast units on the lights. Ive now gone and bought a new HID kit thinking the ballast units have gone, only to fit thebkit and find the lights still dont work and the headlight relay has started to click again! Anyone know the cause of this or is it just a new relay. I have read somewere about a anti theft ecu causing the fault aswell? If it aint gonna b an easy fix or turns out to be a costly one then im just gonna go and rewire a new circuit to the lights via the stork on the steering column cuz i cant b arsed **** about to find a cause and it not be a perminant fix Any advice greatly appreciated
  5. thats more than likely wats happened, ill look at them tomorrow
  6. yeh the horn has a fuse, ive checked that and thats fine. All interior lights work and lights on the dash so im not sure were else to check
  7. Im having a few elctrical issues on my IS200, i cant get the cigarette lighter to work (no light around it or in the ashtray bit) ive looked everywere and i cant seem to find a fuse for it? does anyone know if its linked into anything else? also my horn doesnt work, the relay is clicking when u push the button but no noise, is it possible that both horns are knackered? thanks in advance for any advice :)
  8. Cheers dude. Its a good car, just a shame the alloys are in dire need of a refurb. When the funds become available ill replace the alloys and maybe replace the exhaust, i dont want anything too loud tho, just a bit more sporty lol plenty of time to get that sorted tho
  9. yes mate we were there. Will be at Brands Hatch aswell nxt weekend
  10. Stopped drummin a few years back due tonlack of time. Still have a bang about now and again tho. Its just a name that ive been stuck with on forums etc since i was an early teen lol

  12. Thanks dude, after fitting the radio today and resting the aerial on the dash, it seems to work fine, so im going to route it rearwards to the parcel shelf and see if it will be fine there. :)
  13. Ive just picked up a new headunit for my car. A Philips DAB CD player as Halfrauds had em on special so i thought it would be worth a punt, however i dont like the external aerial they supply. Can i fit this on the inside or has anyone tryed routing it up by the standard aerial? ive seen the screen mounted aerials but id rather not have to fork out on another aerial if i can help it
  14. Only 2 days. Found it on ebay and was only 10 miles from me which was a bonus. The car is as i bought it, only had it 4 days but i love it. G9nna do summat with the wheels tho. Either refurb em or replace them. Not decided yet
  15. I just picked one up for £1100 and its very very good for the money, interior is very good, not mint, but very good, externally its very good origional paint, a few car park dings but ill pop them out. The motor is very strong, and gearbox is brilliant, and its for 164,000 on the clock. Suspension is spot on aswell. And mountains of paperwork to go with it it just needs a wheel bearing and ill put a cam belt on it for peice of mind. id say look for cars with lots of service history and buy with ur head... not ur heart and u wont go far wrong. sound like u really hit yourself a jackpot... would love to see your ride (picture) sweet :zee: I put a few pics up of my car and bikes in the New members bit but heres the car again

  17. Hi guys, im John from Northants. Ive just become the owner of a Lexus is200 sport, its my first car as ive always had vans since ive passed my test. Reason being is i race dragbikes and do other forms of motorbike racing. Recently ive just become a father and decided i needed to change priorities, and the van had to go. I didnt want a Mondeo as i wanted a quality car, my brother has always had jap cars, so i decided to go after a car ive been wanting since i passed my test which was a Lexus IS. So this is what i picked up at the weekend, needs a few minor issues sorted like a new wheel bearing, handbrake adjusted, repaint the bootlid and to do something with the wheels, either refurb them or replace. And need to realy clean out the air filter as its bogging, but other than that, she drives great. Going to order a towbar for it tomorrow aswell so i can tow the bike trailer. Any feedback welcome, im new to these cars so if theres anything i need to know then fire away. And this is my other toy, my 8 second nitrous Suzuki GSXR1100. And im also cheif mechanic for Team E-Lites Kawasaki, BSB National Superstock 600 team (im the shortest one) lol
