  1. Hi Paul. The struts fitted perfectly and I have had no issues at all since fitting them. I know my problem was different to most others, but it seems strange that my problems started when the battery died.
  2. Hi Paul I received the struts on Friday and decided to fit them this morning. It took me about 10 minutes in total and lo and behold, the tailgate now operates normally. It seems that I've been lucky in that the problem was the struts and not the motor. I'm not counting my chickens though, so I'll let you know in a couple of months time if they are still working.
  3. Thanks guys. I think I'm going to get the struts from Amazon and if they fit, all well and good. If not, then I'm down £38 and I'll get the ones from Lexus. Thanks again and I'll keep you posted.
  4. I got rid of my 2006 RX350 just over a year ago after having it for 10 years plus, with no problems whatsoever short of renewing brakes, tyres etc. I have now owned a 2010 RX for a year and until about 2 months ago when the battery went flat, I'd had no problems at all. I charged the battery a couple of times but it still went flat after a week or so of not using the car. So, I replaced the 12v battery and since then, my tailgate has become possessed. It opens with the normal beep, but as soon as it gets close to the top, it starts juddering with a constant beep and starts shutting by itself. This doesn't happen every time but probably 30% of the time. I now tend to hold onto the tailgate when it gets close to fully opening and push it up the last inch or so manually. This seems to keep it at the top and then it will close normally when I press the tailgate button, in the car or on the remote. I'm assuming and hoping, that it's just the struts and am pondering whether to buy a pair from Amazon as Lexus want £115.00 per strut. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tailgate-Supports-Replacement-2010-2015-Liftgate/dp/B08YY5V5RX/ref=sr_1_2?crid=FK7A6DJICBLT&keywords=Lexus+RX450h+tailgate+struts&qid=1674509819&sprefix=lexus+rx450h+tailgate+struts%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-2 Any advice on whether my assumption is correct and if so, would the Amazon struts be ok for my car or should I bite the bullet and order from Lexus? Thanks.
  5. Funnily enough, I often head north to watch united. Not the united you mean though, the one and only mighty Leeds United. Erm, maybe not mighty any more and I probably should have kept that quiet the way we are shaping at the moment. Thanks for the replies regarding the car, I will be contacting Croydon tomorrow and more than likely shopping around if they can't better the offer.
  6. Got a quote for the 70k service at Lexus Croydon for £180.00. Asked why it was not £159.00 as stated on the fixed price promise and was told that the £159 price was with semi synthetic oil change and doesn't include the stamping of the service book and the £180.00 price includes fully synthetic oil and the book gets stamped. Also offered me a courtesy car for £20.00 for the day. I booked it in, but if there are any other recommended Lexus dealers within a reasonable distance that will charge the advertised price, I'd be prepared to travel. Thanks Gary, but Stockport is just a little too far.
  7. Lexus Guildford quoted me £211.00 for a minor service and 49.00 for an MOT. I was told the MOT was £54.00 but " I can do a deal for you at the moment of £49.00". I will be calling them back tomorrow and asking why the difference to which is quoted on the fixed price promise. I will also call Lexus Croydon to see what they quote me, as they are actually closer than Guildford. To be honest,I actually thought £211.00 was a decent price until I logged on. Thanks to all for the advice that is posted on here.
  8. I bought a Lexus RX350 on an 06 plate with 52,000 miles on it. I have had it for a week now and I'm like the cat that got the cream. There is not a mark on it, plenty of toys and runs as smooth as any car I have ever owned. Glad to be part of the Lexus owners club and wished I had got one a lot sooner than I did.
