  1. Hi guys just got back from the Japfest, just like to say a big thankyou to bazza & Janey :D

nice to see all the old faces, and some new ones as well, had a good time at the meet :D seen some very nice cars there, best bit of the day was seeing 2 cars come of the track :whistling:

The Drift cars went out on the track, well what can i say.......they must have Balls the size of Footballs to drift at the speed they was doing it at  take my hat of to them all..........

  2. my roadbook may not be up to date, it tells me to leave the M20 to go by M26 at Addington then leave the M26 10 miles away at Chevening to go onto M25

the estimated time is at speed limits, but I think I will take a lot less time to do it :whistling:

you are right Yemgi, M20,then onto M26 for about 8 to 10 miles then M25.....

Right! if you want to meet me and Dave, the best place to meet is at Clacket Lane services on the M25, as so as you get on to the M25 the services is about 8 or 10 miles, we should be there for round 6.50 to 7am :whistling:

    up to you mate :D

  3. I can meet you at Reading as I am coming from the M25 from the south then going to the M4.

Only problem is I don't know where is the services station

Yemgi, what time do you think you will get to the M25, i only ask as me and dave are comeig round that bit of the M25 and we could meet up :winky:

  4. My ticket has landed...........will be there going bottom of M25 :D

  7. I'm after some 18" tyres for my TTE Chicane wheels. I was looking to get probably 225 /40 but fear they might rub on the arches as the car is on coilovers. Then I was looking for 225 / 35. But I need a bit more rubber on the wheel because of traction.

I'm now after 235 /35. I've looked everywhere for some but the only wheels I can find are Pirelli Pzero. Does anybody know where I can get some from? Preferably Toyo Proxes.

    I've tried blackcircle, mytres etc

    Thanks

Is that all they are 7.5j my wheels i have are 9j i have 225/35 all round, Pzero,s :winky:

I have a mate who,s the manager of Kwik-fit by me........and he is going to get me some 235/35 just for the back end £80 each :whistling:

  8. "when has cooling on the IS ever been an issue"

Bazza, could be that he comes from the "caribbean" bit hotter out therei think........ but then saying that its not my cup of tea, but each to there own

why dont you just get a vented bonnet ;)

  9. Hi folks,

i have recently got my turbo back from the states after being rebuilt under warranty because the oil seals were gone. It had started to whine also like a SC before it was removed so I know it was deffo not right.

The problem is that since I have re-fitted the turbo I am still getting blue smoke from the exhaust. We have put this down to valve stem oil seals. The same thing happened to 2 Honda B16's a B18 and a B20 engine that we did all after getting either turbo'd or SC'd.

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone on here. I think it only affects the engine when running about 0.5bar of boost or more as it never happened at all with the TTE SC fitted.

Well im running .6 Boost and all is ok and my IS has done over 100K miles............the smoke could still be comeing from oil still in the Exhaust, take it for a good long run and see if it go,s I had the same thing with the 1st Turbo i got the oil seals had gone, i had to take the car for a run of about 50-60 miles to get all the oil out the exhaust :winky:

  10. Weird. Aztec fire is metallic brown and definitely

O and why we are talking about colours, Aztec fire is not a metallic Brown.....it is a metallic red, like me logbook says

and by the way, that car looks like granite sky to me :geek:

  11. If I got this right you get 2 times under ET, top one is 1/8th and bottom is for the full 1/4.

Given that I was getting around 2.9 secs for the 1/8th and assuming that I was at half terminal speed (which I would guess would be higher). Using 3 secs and 43mph on the 1/8, one of those net calculators it gives an estimated 0-60 of around 6.75 secs.

So where is the top end?

:whistling: the best 1/8th time i got was 1.76 :D

so who won dave, do you have a list :whistling:

  12. Time was 14.68 seconds ......... terminal speed i think was about 93 - 97mph ....

    Neils tezza ..... well, let's say .... I thought I was running on my own ! lol ........ sorry Neil ! :D

Ya boo sucks Mr Scarface

Like I told you after the run I had hesitation off the line and it took about 2 seconds to start firing properly, by that time you were off. Let it cool down and you declined my polite invitation to go "head to head" again. Said you were getting bored or something.

Seriously though I was a bit disappointed at the 1/4 times. Best was 16.52 with 87 mph terminal speed. Problem I think is the auto box is programmed for the stock ECU so is always working at the top end so you don't get the advantage of the extra torque in the mid range.

Most stock manual tezzas' do 15.5-16s so maybe little slower for AT. However yours has mods which should make it 0.5-1sec faster surely?

What did Zee or any other Altezzas do 1/4mile times in?

Think Zee did a 14.21 something like that........

  13. Congrats.... :)

May i ask what time and your terminal speed.....?

Would also love to hear what Neils Altezza tiptronic done ?

Anybody pair auto against manual just to see?

    thanks

    pretty please

PM me if anybody dosen't like to boast..... :)

    Neils tezza ..... well, let's say .... I thought I was running on my own ! lol ........ sorry Neil ! :D

I went up against a few IS200's S/C and Turbo's ............ must say it was almost neck and neck ... if not quicker ! :D

Me and Marcus went up first ............ first two runs I had to show him what an 'auto' could do ........ but then I thought I'd let him get the best of me on the 3rd run ...... he he ! B) :whistling:

I did about 17 runs in total .................

 as if you let me..........ahmet, my start time .......the 1/8th time was 1.79 thats how i won that 3rd run :winky: and that was my best time i had done all day........it was all good fun :D
