  1. I want to lower my IS. Was thinking on the Spax (-25mm) springs. Did you do this yourself? I know there is a workshop article on this but is it a simple enough DIY job?

BTW, car looks great. Don't forget to get the alignment done after a few hundred miles.

    Gavin :)

yes mate i did it myself :) well i got my son to help me with it :whistling: it did not take that long to do as there was 2 of us :winky:

P.S i,O,U, A BEER Maz :winky: Thanks mate

  3. Normaly its to conver 4 stud to 5 stud config, but with the fact that you already have a 5 stud config that would mean that it would be easier, plus it will space the wheel out that extra 10mm!

cheaper for sure, no new discs etc. just a bolt down spacer with new studs

so if i did this what offset would i be looking at then  if i did this :whistling:

  4. I here what you guys are saying :duh: but i had to try, i made a call today to some thats know,s all bout wheels and makeing custom hubs and discs he told me it would cost any think from £600 - 1500 to make a set of custom hubs & discs so the wheels would fit  well you know what i told him to do with it :tsktsk:

Thanks any way guys for your feed back on this :whistling:

  5. Centre bore is much bigger on the BMW.

The problem with buying new hubs is you can't get them. Who would make a hub for a Lexus when it does even fit the wheels?

You would have to get them custom made, fit new discs and probably have to reposition the caliper mounting.

just siting here thinking  as i would need to remove the hubs and fit new ones  how big are the lexus discs and hubs and how big are the B*W discs and hubs could i not just take of the std lexus ones and put on the std B*W ones or would i have to use custom made ones ;) OK can any one tell me what holds the hub in place :excl:

  6. the E46 is from ET35 to 45 i will not know what the ET is untill i pick the wheels up next week as the guy i got them of :duh:  well you could say he is a noob when it comes to cars :hehe:when i asked him what the ET was he did not know what i was talking about ;)  so the ET could be any from 35 to 45  come on dobedo tell HOW to make them fit mate :D

arggghhh ...sounds like you have bought them allready

there is no easy solution, not one that wont cost more than a set of wheels would cost

although ! you could allways cut the studs off, and use a few tubes of no nails, it would stop the buggers nicking them for sure :winky:

there are three things which makes wheels correct

    1. the stud pattern

    2. the offset

    3. the centre bore

if all three of these are wrong, you wont have much luck :crybaby:

do i hear someone saying e-bay :whistling:

ok 2 out of 3 is not bad as i know the ET is ok i think and i know the center bore fits but the bolt pat is 120 :crybaby: can i not just buy new hubs and discs :whistling: O and no i did not get them of eBay

  7. the E46 is from ET35 to 45 i will not know what the ET is untill i pick the wheels up next week as the guy i got them of :duh: well you could say he is a noob when it comes to cars :hehe:when i asked him what the ET was he did not know what i was talking about ;) so the ET could be any from 35 to 45 come on dobedo tell HOW to make them fit mate :D

  8. No.. you'd need new hubs + custom discs for starters.

Probably cost more than a decent set of wheels that fit properly.

Think you're on to a loser here..... may as well give it up.

so how much are new set of Hubs going to cost me :whistling: i dont need custom discs as i would just go get the ones to fit the hubs  ok if i take of my discs to get to the hubs can i just take the hubs of and put new hubs that fit this wheel i know i would have to buy new discs to fit the hub but as i need new discs any way :whistling: im thinking it would be a good time to do the hubs and then get the discs to fit the hubs :whistling: as you can see i am and i will fit them some how and i will not give up till they are on the car :winky: when you see the wheels you will see why i have to make them fit :whistling: so PLEASE any help on this from the guys that KNOW HOW :excl::excl:

  9. Why would you want'a fit bimmer rims? They look sweet?

yea mate i have a nice set of rims that come of a B*W but i need to know what i have to do to make them fit, they are not std B*W rims but they did come of an E46 B*W so there for they are will only fit Bolt pat of 120 so if any one knows what i have to do to make them fit please tell me how, :whistling: what if i got new dic,s with a 120 bolt pat would that work :excl:

  10. I need some help guys :whistling: i need to know how to make a B*W E46 wheel fit on my IS what would i have to do to make them fit i know the wheels are ET35-45 on the E46 but the Bolt pat, is 120 on the E46 and on the IS it is 114.3 so what would i have to do or buy to get the wheels to fit ;)

  11. This is what i was going to do, to match the front lip, like pete was saying just cut it out so you have about 3-5mm lip all the way round to fit the new Mesh to :winky: i will post some pic,s as soon as i do it , as there is a lot out there thinking of doing it :whistling:
