  1. The low fuel light came on at 481.1 miles, but as we were about to leave the Isle Of Skye and head to Fort William, we decided to stop early, as it was a Sunday as well, and fill up. 492 on the odometer and only 61.01 litres went in. 36.7 MPG. My 'ownership average' is now at 31.0 MPG. Yes, I am filling to the brim everytime, when the pump clicks, I keep putting more in until it won't let me put any more in, so I have a rough idea that I am filling up completely everytime.
  2. The car has been behaving impeccably and economically. No midges seen yet, but we are currently experiencing temperatures between 9-12c. Really enjoying the roads.
  3. Lexus Cardiff said that because of the age of the vehicle, 2004, their labour charges for me will always be £85 per hour. I get a further 5-7% reduction for being a Lexus Owners Club member. Yes it does cost more than a small independent, but then it's Lexus!?! Yes, the quality of work is likely to be the same wherever you go, but it's being done by Lexus!?!
  4. I have driven nearly 800 miles from South Wales, all the way up England to the North of Scotland! I'll get it cleaned at some point. :-)
  5. We decided to stop for fuel as we were near a petrol station. 491.1 miles. My wife was getting concerned that there would be no more petrol stations and we would run out. 63.78 litres went in and the average mpg was 35mpg. I could've done it, maybe on the return trip home, I'll push for 500 miles again with pics. This was the bed and breakfast we stayed in, in Jedburgh.
  6. 465.7 miles before the low fuel light came on. I'm going to pass 500 miles for sure this trip.
  7. We're stopping in Annbank on Tuesday 4th June for our last night in Scotland.
  8. Yeah, just reread the first post and thought 'sheesh . . . The wife would've noticed if I was going that fast!'
  9. I think I got my timing wrong in the first post, it must've been 2 and a half hours, there's no way I was traveling fast enough to complete 185 miles in 90 mins . . . . . Anyway, due to set off for Edinburgh around 10:00 , with 378.3 miles completed and the gauge not yet on the final quarter notch. I'm aiming for the fuel light to come on at 450 miles and needing to stop for petrol at 500 miles.
  10. Yeah, I have been cruising at a speed slightly above 70mph. Soft pressure on the accelerator to try and keep the mpg monitor around 40 mpg where possible. The passed couple of weeks, the low fuel light hasn't come until after 400 miles have passed. The car is currently holding my wife and I, plus a medium amount of luggage. We are staying (traveling) in Scotland until June 5th. Edinburgh, St. Andrews, Inverness, Isle of Skye, Ayrshire and Glasgow. MMmmm Lexus driving ness . . .
  11. About to hit 390 miles for the last quarter notch on the fuel tank. I think this may be the first time I pass 500 miles on one tank. Edinburgh tomorrow, Saint Andrews on Wednesday.
  12. Stopped off in Langholm for Lunch at The Crown Hotel, but they had just stopped serving Lunch. . . Arrived in Jedburgh after 369 miles of great Lexus Driving. Edinburgh tomorrow!
  13. Currently stopped at Lymm services. Photo of journey will be uploaded when we return from Scotland. 185.4 miles in an hour and 45 mins. . . Good going so far.
  14. There are some meet ups being arranged at the moment, I drove from Caerphilly, South Wales to meet some guys in Nottingham on May 5th, that was great. Check out the meet up section in the forums and see if there are any near you, or if you're happy to travel.
  15. Hi Rigga. I've been having a little look around too, prices range from £35 - £400. Check with your Insurance provider about what quality/spec camera they would require, ask if they have any incentives or reductions on certain cameras. Then visit Currys and Dixon and see what their prices are like, then see if you can get a discount by stating that you are a Lexus Owners Club member. Use my phone to listen to music in my car, so using it as a camera is not feasible, also, there would be times when I would simply forget to turn it on.
  16. Ah, Thank You Colin. Yes, the is200 SportCross is indeed a manual. When i purchased it, the dealer said that it had cruise control, but as it was a manual, cruise control was never fitted, I didn't pull him up on it, it seemed a genuine mistake.
  17. My wife and I went to have our twenty week scan and we have been told that we are expecting a Baby Girl.
  18. Hehe, yeah my first cars were very uninspiring. Fiat Panda 750cc , Renault Clio 1.2l , Rover 400 , Rover Metro , kia Pride Panel Van . . . Yep! Kia Shuma, vauxhal Corsa and now my Lexus. I've got trc and snow mode buttons, but not found an ect pwr button.
  19. The weight is a minimal difference between the SportCross and the Saloon. Lexus' official figures state that a combined run should be 28.8 mpg, but if you want to check my fuelly from my signature, you can see (how much of a pedant I am) how well the car is performing. I fill the car to the brim and then drive until it's empty, if I only filled up half a tank a time, I could probably increase my mpg. Lol. I've not got an ect power button. But then I purchased the SportCross as we've got a baby on the way. Estate and isofix points. Mpg was another issue, but I couldn't face driving around in a diesel Focus Estate!
  20. No, if you were happy replying to this thread, I don't see the need for posting a thread. I use snow mode all the time and I'm averaging 30.6 mpg since purchasing the vehicle in January this year, nearly done 10, 000 miles. The last lot of mpg calculations were over 32.0 mpg. Loving this car!
  21. So, do you use it once a year to clean the engine out? or just when you notice that it's getting sluggish?
  22. I can't compare, but I used Forte Gas Treatment and I'm finding the car responsive and very economical.
