Would it work if I put some 15mm spacers on to change the offset?

Ah thats my bad, I'm sure I read on the back of them 7 (will double check tomorrow). So what sort of things would I need to look into to get them to fit well? Thanks for your help :)

I have an engineering company that will increase the bore for me, so putting that aside would they fit?

Hey guys, I'm thinking of putting some aftermarket alloys on my IS200 ( These in particular: http://tinyurl.com/o257mdv but in silver ) Currently my car is sitting on sport suspension, I've found a set of the alloys with good tread left on them and the tyres are 235/45 17 and the offset of the alloys are 53. My question is would these cause any problems with stock sport suspension? Thanks

I don't understand what it is. Is it just a tomtom model in place of where the standard lexus screen is?

Well I fitted the IS200 Sport suspension on Saturday and its been retracked thanks to my uncle :). Fitment went smoothly and all in all I'm very happy with them, sooooo much nicer and comfier then the old setup. Thanks for all the advice you guys gave me :)

When I was getting quotes for my Lexus I was looking to get a sport but that added ~£200 to the quotes xD.. Although I am only 22 and most insurers don't like insuring young people on anything with a "T", "Sport" or "Turbo" in the name xD Otherwise I would have gone with a Sport for the LSD and lower suspension (Although will most likely be adding these on anyway)

Its a shame someone close to him can't go and look at as a 'potential buyer' for us just to confirm it. If it's not a scam then there must be something seriously wrong with it at least.

Maybe.. Been asking on ebay and a lot of breakers either didn't get back to me or didn't have the springs, have been given an offer by someone for full shocks and springs from a sport for £120 taken off the car at 50k. What do you guys think?

Yea I was thinking of plastidipping them Ian but that wouldn't cover up the corrosion to well so I'll strip them down as best I can then get them smooth and spray them for now. I''msure in the future I'll dip them though :)

Unfortunately that's the problem, my car isn't currently sitting on stock springs otherwise I wouldn't be in such a hurry to replace them. The previous owner thought the car would look good with lowered front and not back so currently the car looks like I'm breaking hard everywhere and to me look horrific and the handling isn't as sharp as I believe it should be. Also roadworks and tiny potholes are a nightmare unless going ~5 mph.. These are the reasons I wanna change the springs ASAP :)

Will have a look when I have the wheels off at the weekend, did notice 1 or 2 people mention it when I was looking into what others have done but didn't realise it was a known fault. Thanks for the heads up :)

I'm all for people learning stuff through videos/reading, I mean I learnt most of the stuff I know about cars (suspension, brakes, body repair, ect.) through youtube videos and reading pages and pages of other peoples attempts at doing such things. I'm not saying when I start doing all these things to my car I know it will go 100% smoothly because I watched stuff on youtube. It's like I'm planning to refurb my wheels myself this weekend, I've watched about 5-10 different videos on it, read pages and pages of advice on it and asked people on here for advice. If there was a guy who was confirmed as doing it for a living that told me I couldn't do it I'd leave them until I can get them done properly. But watching 1 badly filmed video on how to remove a windscreen isn't really much research as to the actual fitting, it may look simple enough to remove as well but those guys are professionals with all the correct tools and equipment to hand, what if you get halfway through then realise you need something else? Will you be able to go and get what you need or will you be stuck cause your car doesn't have a windscreen? Phone up more then 1 company, best best is to google people in your area as smaller businesses are often cheaper (I find) then the larger companies e.g. autoglass. Also listen to people who do it for a living.

I certainly wouldn't risk doing it myself, as matt said it's an important safety part of your car and if you screw it up then you'd have to pay someone to sort it anyway. If you pay someone to sort it then you've got the comfort of knowing an important jobs been done properly.

Like I said the Eibach springs are a little out of my current price range especially since I need to get the brakes done soon (£200) if the APEX ones last me even a year then I'd be happy, Currently the car looks awful with the fronts done and the rears stock, and planning on doing the wheels myself over the weekend as they look like s*** atm. As long as I get the car looking good for at least 1 year until I can afford all the proper toys I wana put on then I'd be happy :)

Ah I see.. Thanks for the correction Ganesh :) Might just get some springs for now and see how the shocks go, got any recommendations for springs under £150? Can't really afford much more then that. Also anyone got any pictures of a 200 with 35mm drop? Surely paint stripper will blast it straight off? Like I said at some point when I can afford it they will be done properly, if I can get them to last even a year looking better then they are now I'd be a happy bunny. Atm I can't stand the sight of them xD
