  1. If its the blue one thats been on for a few months now its had some serious cash spent on it, there was a black turbo on a few weeks ago that got sold quick it was lovely
  2. Tbh I have been looking at up graded arb's also been looking at the under body brace's as well just need to get some funds back in my account first lol
  3. Such bad luck the main thing is you are ok, looking at the damage (qualified panel beater) id say it would be a total loss, your insurance company will try and offer you pennies for it so insist that the assesor comes out and has a look at the car because its in good condition other than the accident damage that way you should get a bit more case for it
  4. If that has cured it then im happy because iv got ball joints drop links and tie rod ends as well as coilovers ordered just waiting on them to be delivered, I habe covered all ball joints drop links and shocks in wd40 today and done about 15 mile since and I havent heard a pep out of it so its got to be one of them lol yeah it does seam like a common thing this, well as soon as all parts are here and I fit them hopefully that will cure and I can help shed some light just like your self
  5. Hi all last night/this morning on my way home from work the car started making a strange noise from the o/s/f wheel, luckily I have orded new ball joints and drop links as well as coilovers so will have most the parts to change in the next week or so, the noise is like a metal on metal squeak just like this below this is not my car and doesnt do the noise when turning the wheel like the beginning of the video, I have had a look today the caliper looks ok pleanty ofpads and disk left also doesn't seam to be sticking all the bushes look ok non seam to have torn and look in ok condition, the drop links and ball joints look ok tbh but im changing any way the thing im starting to thik it is the shock absorber there seam a good bit of play when pushing car down etc I have sprayed with pleanty of wd40 at the moment to clean/lube it, has any body had this type of problems when shocks pack up or do you think I should be looking at something else??? Any ideas or tips would be appreciated
  6. quote name="petayV8" post="851413" timestamp="1389866788"] can you take a closer shot of your DRLs in the highbeams pls there you go mate
  7. sorry mate only just seen this, I will take a pic tomorrow for you, its been an expensive day today I have ordered new top and bottom ball joints new drop links and tie rod ends also a nice set of shiny new tein street advance coilovers :) its going to be like Christmas when the post man comes haha
  8. Even if it was him that broke the caliperhe would have had to been trying to get the pins out with a crow bar or a grinder to be able to snap the caliper :/ sounds a bit iffy to me, storys like this make me so glad my mate owns a garage and lets me use it to do the stuff I need and if I carnt do it he will sort out in between jobs for me for a good price of a bit of banter and a lil drink
  9. I bought a 'ebay special' the it cost £15 to get cut 2 weeks later the other half 'who doesn't drive the car' went to get something out the car and instead of pushing the button on the key decided toput key in door half the way and try and turn it and snapped the new key into bits it was the only one I had, luckily enough I had just taken out key cover on my car insurance 2 days before for a grand total of £15 for the year, I called them and told them I had lost the key, only so I could keep the broken one as a spare the aa come out with a gen lexus key cut it and programmed it to the car, jackpot in my books new genuine lexus key for £15 carnt really complain at that lol
  10. If you carnt see any screws/bolts holding it on then its only stuck on with either double sided tape or a sealer
  11. I got some of them my self I had them in my astra twintop before the Is so I know the a good bulb so I got some for the Is as a spare
  12. I was tempted to do it that way but the cree bulbs needed to be pointing ahead so had to get the ole drill out I sat there for about 30 mins before hand planning it all out and plucking the courage to press the start button haha
  13. Lol I get like that sometimes and just carnt be bothered normally down to the fact I had 2 jobs a day job and a semi night job so just couldn't be bothered doing anything when im off work for that few hrs haha
  14. Thats exactly the look I wanted, so the us spec uses the high beam just on lower power as a drl mmmmmm gets me thinking haha what I done was move the side light bulb to under the main beam bulb so I still have all bulbs fully working, its an absolute pain to do but I think its worth it, the marker lights I have fitted 4x10mm leds above the indercator in the head lights, unfortunately after a few trial fits with them for some reason when the light was stuck back together they dont all work so I didnt wire them in, im planning on redoing my lights anyway so will sort them out again, ill take a pic of where they are later so you have some idea
  15. Looks much better, I noticed you followed the instructions and tryed a test area out first (I dont think the cat is what they meant :) )
  16. Cheers, the front ones look as good when they where all working lol as always iv got a list the length of my arm of stuff I want to do lol
  17. I just thought i would post a few pics of how the Is is coming on i collected the car like this fully untouched other than the windows, the front bumper was a bit battered with scrapes all over paint peeling off and one of the washer flaps missing (was in the glove box) then most would say its unlucky and i would normally but a few days later a lovely arriva bus driver decided he would clip my bumper and wing as he was leaving the bus stop so arriva where good enough to pay to paint my full bumper and paint the wing, so i fixed the washer flap before it went in to get painted, this is where im upto now wheels painted Rear lights split and painted with added marker lights on the sides and the rear fogs converted so they are side/fog (didnt want the brake conversion too) on the front i have had front painted as said above, i have split and painted fogs and headlights, in the headlights i have moved the sidelight bulb from the outer ring to the inner ring and fitted a high power cree bulb, i have fitted 6000k hids and added some orange leds to act as marker lights. after a few times of checking the leds at different parts of the rebuild i put light back together and sealed only 3 out of the 4 bulbs now work so i havent connected them up yet because im not happy with the way the lens fits so i will be ripping apart and doing again until im happy i have also painted the front grill and added a smaller number plate, reason for painting the grill i think it suits the car better with all the chrome gone and im unsure on the sport grills side lights on Hids on Thats it up to now, on my list next in the next few week (other than re-doing my headlights) new ball joints new drop links new shocks and lowering springs
  18. Hi all, I have recently painted my rear lights and done my front fogs, in the rears I have added some red leds on the quarter panel side of the lights just like marker lights, I will post pics of this as soon as I have done my head lights, with the head lights I have some orange leds to add above the indercator again to act as a marker light my question to you all is I have seen a few pics on the Internet with what looks like the side light has been moved to the inside main beam ring from the outside dipped beam ring if you get me? Has anyone on here done this mod? If so was it easy enough to do? Thanks paul
  19. On my way to asda this afternoon the temperature on the is200 flew straight up to the red, I managed to reach the end of the bypass I was on and pull into a side street and shut off before I poped a core plug, bonnet up and slightly opened rad cap to release the pressure in the system, the car has the half hot half cold heater just like many more by all accounts, when the car had cooled down some I felt all the pipes and there was pleanty on hot water in the system except the 2 matrix pipes which are absolutely sold stiff, also with the car boiling over the temp from all heaters was blowing cold, so if the matrix is blocked like it looks like would this cause the car to over heat? And has anyone else had this happen, my plan tomorrow is to flush the matrix and then flush the cooling system as well as a new thermostat, do you think this would cure the problem? Thanks in advance
  20. Cheers will give that ago, the key looks like an original lexus key so dont think it being badly cut is the reason, ill just keep digging and taking things apart lol
  21. Hi cheers for the reply, that was my plan just wondering the locking should work via key in lock as it all works fine when pushing the lock/unlock button in the car
  22. Hi all, im new to this site, I purchased a is200 2001 yesterday and im loving the car, obviously with its age it has a few small niggley bits that need doing e.g key casing broke, passanger mirror doesnt automatically fold in, Central locking doesnt work and rear drivers side window doesnt work, like I said there all small things, the locking and key are the main ones for me, I have researched the key so will be buying a new flip key from ebay, now the locking isnt working feom pressing the buttons on key (battery my be dead but carnt change as the key has been put back together using bathroom sealer :D hence needing a new key lol) the locking doesnt work via key in door only drivers door locks and unlocks, the locking works fine feom the button on the door, I have tried the door dance but no joy its still the same, could this just be down to the key being broke?? Any ideas will be much appreciated Paul
