Ha ha that last post is great ! Its ages since I set this debate going and it was from a pure observation that in my very dark drive I could see bugger all and I was just aazed such a great car could be let down in this way.

I still find it astonishing that people think these lights dont have a purpose of actually allumiating the area behind your vehicle so you can actually see where you are reversing ????

Just an observation if they were to warn others that a vehicle was reversing why are they " White " and projecting white light, as any rozzer will tell you white light can only be projected from the front of a car !

Hi fella I dont recall the exact details but they came as a full set of LED replacements off Fleabay. I changed all the interior ones, number plate ones, door lights they are so much better.

It still makes me smile this thread is still going and how some people are lets say ' odd ' in their view, I understand what people say about the lights are there to warn other road users that you are reversing, if thats the case the very people you are trying to ' warn of your intended reverse ' will know you have attempted a ' reverse ' due to the fact your hazard warning lights are now on after you crashed into all manner of stuff due to the fact you cant see s**t behind you !!!! These lights are there to help you see when going backwards simple as that, I have removed them silly deflectors and replaced the standard bulbs with LED's and now I can !!!!!

Right you lovely knowledgeable lot ...........any ideas on how to cure my near side light cluster slight condensation problem ? Its not hiddiously bad but its there, and only on the near side set. My car is a 55 plate RX400h. Would simply removing cleaning and resetting the seal, if there is one to re set cure it ? Can you get new seals ? And do I need to sell a kidney to fund this like most ridiculously priced Lexus parts.......... Any answers gratefully received

Hi guys I have looked into having my RX400h " Terracleaned "its a process where they inject some magic cleaning formula into the engine while its running and it gets rid of carbon built up over normal use. They say it makes your car run like new, increasing fuel economy and reducing emissions, well my car runs perfect and im getting 31.7mpg so would anybody like to hazzard a guess on how much this could be improved by ? Plus the guy had to get technical guys to tell him what to do to keep the engine running while the process took place, they say putting the aircon on full chat will make the cars engine stay running long enough to do the magic ? Thoughts please ?????

So are you saying its worth firing one thru ? My car is returning just shy of 32 mpg so im happy I cant see it improving much on that ? Can it ?

When I bought my RX400h it had one Pirelli scorpion on the back, strange I know all the other tyres matched, and on the test drive I was sure a rear wheel bearing was going, after buying the car a put a full set of Hankook Ventus on and the noise from the back went away ! These Hankook tyres are spot on, very quiet and plenty of grip in all weathers.

I saw an episode of Wheeler dealers where they did a treatment on a car with emission readings before and after and it " appeared " to reduce them dramatically ? I know im never gonna get 40mph out my RX400h but knowing its working as efficiently as possible makes my OCD happy

Hi guys I obviously know I can fold my mirrors in with the little button down on the right hand side under the dash but is there a way of having them automatically fold away when you park up and turn off the car ? Or lock the doors ?

Hi guys, have any of you ever used one of these engine treatment products, the stuff thats surposed to clean out carbon deposits and give you better fuel economy etc....,, or are they just a load of s**t and dont actually do anything ? I wouldn't have thought removing carbon deposits from your pistons and sending it all down your catalytic converter would do it much good, thats if these treatments actually do that ?

Well yes I see what you are saying but as you say its difficult to determine if they are actually working as the garage floor would mean the car is sitting level. Its a bit like them not testing the emissions thats awesome mines a 3.3 V6 and would produce heaps of bad **** if it was failing but they wouldn't know lol crazy rules eh ?

Be thankful you dont need to replace the whole mirror, my darlingMrs clipped our on a bus and mullered it the price from Lexus?...................... £542.11p !!!!!

I have had the same issue, Lexus Norwich quoted me over £500 just for the part and said it was an MOT failer which isnt entirely true because if the lights sit at the correct level when the car is tested they are fine. I searched the internet and found more than one company who supply these units, I was quoted £156 for a second hand one and for a part you cant see it would make sense and save you a fortune ! Dont get me wrong I love my car but that price is taking the p*ss !

Hi guys any body know where I can get a front nearside mudguard for my RX400h ? I only want this one not a full set ?

The casing is smashed and the mounting part is also busted, the electrics still work but I bet you cant buy the full mounting and casing thats painted ? Its very frustrating ! It's also damaged the side window glass so I'm now thinking its gonna be an insurance claim

Hi guys My darling Mrs clattered our RX400h off a BIG YELLOW BUS and basically destroyed the offside mirror, I went to our main dealer and the nice (slightly smarmy) guy told me the replacement would be £542.11p ! Sweet baby jesus & the twelve deciples !!!!! Thats just stupid. He did say it comes colour coded which is nice. so my question is would any of you lovely folks know of where I can source a replacement at a sensible price ?

I have just put a full set of Hankook Ventus on they seem to handle the wet very well, so I will report back on tyre wear as we go. # I have two new tyres spare if anybody wants them call me on 07870296819

I dont have any alloys for sale but I do have two new Hankook Ventus 235/55/18 tyres for sale ? £170 for the pair they are basically brand new and have done about five miles. They are normally about £140 each !

Hi guys have any of you or do any of you know if its possible to mount spot lights on the front of the RX400h ? Do you know of any brackets that can be fitted to mount spot lights on ? Oh and before anybody says the lights are perfectly good enough and why would I want to put spot lights on my car I live in rural Norfolk and there are a lot of Deer running around at light and some of them are B I G so I want to able to see as far down the road as possible and having used KC Daylighters in the past I want to mount a pair on my car.
