  1. ganzoom: you wrote the you have 30 minutes experience.... My experience is over 1 year and 25kkm. And I'm using Sport mode a lot of the time. No surprise that you wrote that IS300h is under-powered if you tested it in the different than S mode mostly...
  2. thanks, of course kph this is the default for Poland :-) http://www.klikk.no/motor/bil/biltester/article868615.ece 0-100 km/t, sek: 8,4 ... 60-100 km/t, kickdown: 4,3 ... 80-120 km/t, kickdown: 5,3
  3. The same as the IS300h - you can keep it on 4000-6000 (highest torque range) non stop if you want to have a good response. Just set it to Sport plus S manual mode and keep it on 3-4 gear, response is immediate. And indeed, it will reduce the gear if you press the throttle as kick down (additional switch at the throttle). it has 4 seconds from 60-120 and 5 seconds 80-120, it's pretty enough in my opinion. The proof: please look on the RPMs and gears: The difference between Eco, Normal and Sport is huge, and even greater with virtual gears. But... you have to learn how to drive the hybrid car :-)
  4. Could you explain please, what it means "10x more responsive"? The ZF has 100-200ms shifting times. The IS300h has, as I believe and feel (didn't make exact measurement yet) something about 50ms. So, which one is more responsive? Unless you're talking about more the shifting noise and mechanical jerks :-D
  5. Yesterday I found linked thread on australian forum: http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/12573-is-300h-vibrations/ Indeed, it could be exhaust pipe resonans.
  6. Hi Tore, thanks, so this is a good news! I didn't know that you succeeded with the car exchange. I'll wait for the fix, however, I'm getting a little nervous, because after the "software fix", which temporary caused that vibrations was less intensive, I feel now that the issue is gradually more intensive again. Maybe it's due to the environment temperature goes down. I hope, that what you wrote, the fix is coming and you will get a new car without this defect :-) Regards! Dominik.
  7. Hi, my ECU as well updated today. I have to spend more time for a better test, but the first feeling is: it is better but vibrations not completely gone. I observed that ECU is trying to omit the "1300RPM hot spot". But it is not possible with each conditions, so we have the issue still. Tomorrow I'll test it a bit more precise. BTW: First time, I tested the inside of the GS300h - I didn't realise, that it has less place for legs on the second row! And the trunk is a lot shorter (not smaller, the volume is almost the same). This is the cause: there is still the spare wheel under the floor, so the battery is "classically" located - behind the rear row. Anyway, I love my IS300h :-)
  8. Hi! I'm going for an ECU upgrade on next week. I'll immediately write a review here.
  9. I'm the left hand driver, and I feel it. Just joking ;-) I have 2kkm to my first service, And I'm going to not to back without the solution. Lexus shouldn't ignore us anymore! Lexus, are you listening?!
  10. Hi guys! As I promised, I talked to my Lexus Service today. I have a clear answer: it's sent to upper level. They wanted my VIN number, because I didn't show it when I was showing our problem. They said: We know the problem, if the central will check it, it will be the service action. Let's keep in touch! Dominik.
  11. John, the IS300h is great car. We must to force Lexus to fix it. Apart this defect, I'm totally happy with my choice. Specially on highways, then it shows how powerful it is! Speed around 140km/h is in its nature :-). Great handling and the response. You right, it will be better if ours services will alert Lexus first. I'll call to my service tomorrow and I'll give you an info.
  12. The problem is, that this is not only the noise. We have the strong vibration. I think, we should to write an official letter to Lexus EU.
  13. Thanks John! So we have a partially good news. Good that they are interesting in this issue, not so good, that nothing happens yet. I have 7kkm before I visit my service for scheduled service, but maybe I'll go earlier. Just to ask what they did after my demonstration of the issue.
  14. No, it isn't just only ICE's idle vibration. It's some interference and/or a resonance. In fact, judder is slight grater than I have in my 2G Prius but it's still not disturbing.
  15. Hi Dazed, we've moved this topic over to "Potential Manufacturing Defect" if you'd like to follow it. Everybody reporting the problem (just 3 of us so far, unfortunately, so welcome to the club!) agrees it happens between around 80 - 90kph when the engine is between 1300 and 1400 rpm, and it goes away if you paddle down a 'virtual' gear. I'm pretty sure there is a solution because most owners don't have the problem - perhaps a little electronic tweaking of the CVT. Please don't let this turn you off the car. I'm bringing mine in to the dealer in a few weeks, and will be taking all the comments with me, so watch this space. Hi Dazed, at least three more of us in France have reported this vibration problem, two on F-Sport and one on Executive version. And as stated on the other topic, it has been reported an other Toyota hybrid models as well. Hi, and please add to the list three reports from Poland - my IS300h, the "demo car" from a Lexus Salon which I drove with service mechanic who heard this issue from a first seconds, and random info from the IS300h owner when I met him on a gas station.
  16. Thanks John, Also I'm less worried now, when I know that I'm not alone. And I hope Toyota is listening :-) If not, maybe it is a good idea to write an official letter from our Club?
  17. Hi Silvian, it seems that many of us have this issue. Please find a topic which I've started: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/86868-potential-manufacturing-defect/
  18. It seems this topic is connected: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/84613-transmission-rough-spot/
  19. Hi! It seems to we've observed the same issue: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/86868-potential-manufacturing-defect/ Regards, Dominik.
  20. Hi! Also on a winter tires? I hope that it isn't overloading the engine - this would be harmful for it. Hope it's what I'm suspecting - the powertrain - suspension resonance. To exclude that it isn't wheel weight problem - if you are on stable speed and the effect occurs, let switch to a "manual" mode - the effect will disappears immediately (unless you shift to "6").
  21. Hi Alex, thanks for reply. Service mechanic said that, it's like too much or no enough torque for current RPMs. It sounds, he sad, like f.e. too high gear for a given load. And that it's definitely generated somewhere in the powertrain, maybe Toyota should modify a torque map. The fact that it wasn't felt on summer tires (at least on two cars) tells us, that you may have right: the F suspension can dump vibration well. For me - it feels like the powertrain with its natural vibration, tends to put suspension into avresonance and maybe winter (softer) tires "helps" this process occurs. My service wants to take a recordings of this effect (by some special microphones) and will talk to the Toyota.
  22. I have posted this potential defect description on the "rattles" topic, but I think it's a good idea to start a new topic. The problem is as follows: Just a few days after I've changed my tires for winter ones, I found strange sound and intensive vibration when I'm cruising with a constant speed, about 90 kmph and when an engine is running low, on about 1200-1400 rmps. I don't know, why this effect wasn't appearing on the summer tires. Before changing tires, I met some guy with his IS300h, and he was telling me, that car is great, but when he changed tires to winter ones, the car drives completely different, that he feels like riding on a bad made tarmac. When I meet him, I was on summer tires, so it was clear to me that he has got bad tires, but I have now different tires than he had, and I have the same vibration. Update: On this Saturday I was in the Lexus Service and the service mechanic heard and feels this sound and vibration from the first seconds. Then we checked other IS 300h ("demo car") from the salon on another winter tires. Definitely, the same vibrations and sound are present, happens on the same speed and rpms. My service center wants to check if there are any other records of this issue on Toyota. I'll inform you about any update. Dominik.
  23. No vibration in my car. on winter tyres! I must go to the service, because it's annoying. It appear only when I'm cruising with the constant speed 70-110kmph and engine is on 1200-1400rmps. I was thinking that it's wrong tire balancing, but if I switch to a lower virtual gear and I'm keeping the speed, it disappears immediately. I meet some guy with his Is300h on the gas station, before I switched to winter tires (and this effect was unknown for me) and when I ask "how is it driving?", he sad: "on summer tires was everything perfect, on winter... this is another car! it's like riding on the grater"... I think, that it's some engine vibration resonance not well dumped. I was at Lexus service yesterday. It seems that the IS 300h has a manufacturing defect! Mechanic guy heard and feels this sound and vibration form the first seconds. Then we checked other IS 300h "demo car" from salon (on a different winter tires) - definitely there was same vibration and sound, happens on the same speed (~90) and rpms (~1300).
