  1. Well done...glad you have fixed it. It is a right pain in the a..e having that go of after 10 mins driving.

It may well be a known fault but you try and get Lexus to sort it.....reluctant is all I will say.

Let's hope a few others can get the same result too.

Must be difference of dealers , mine didn't even question the problem they just booked it in and sorted , wish I had done if myself though ha I knew what to do too cos i seen it done on the Internet . Wouldn't have had my console damaged .
  2. I average 18-22 mpg, and it's never really changed between service intervals. Lowest figure recorded was 4 mpg on our gliding club runway when investigating whether the car starts to run out of steam as it approaches its electronically controlled limit (it doesn't by the way, just keeps pulling).

    Naughty boy lol

  3. I really like the alloy weave lol that's one thing that I first loved when I saw the pics etc .

Tyre pressure monitors yeh I agree .

Yeh stu I agree it doesn't sound too v8 ish .i think I imagined it to sound American muscle car v8 but never the less still sounds good.

I would have liked a newer revamped model with the softer suspension etc but I can live with it ,it is quite harsh but ok on nice roads .

  4. Just wondering folks what did you think the isf would drive like etc before you bought one .

I bought mine over the phone 3 hours plus away , I had only ever seen one but wanted one .

I hadn't a clue what they were like but as I was driving down to collect it I thought to myself

I think the steering will feel heavier that my 250 , it would feel more planted etc .

I didn't think it would be as fast lol and my expectations were bang on .

Just wonder how you others felt .

  5. In Lexus techs/mechanics defence, I actually know a couple of them and a Toyota main dealer tech. They are not allowed loose on any car until they have received their induction training and are shadowed by a senior tech while they're in their induction period.

They also receive a hell of a lot of training. They're going on courses all the time and when a new model is launched they go away for a whole week sometimes to get to grips with it and learn the car and recieve training on it :)

Yeh I agree that's why they repaired my stereo on my last is250 and scratched the console when they took it out .fully trained eh .

That's why when I dolled my isf my Battery was loose , wheels the wrong way around , tyre pressures all over the place , air filter not cleaned out , fully trained eh .

    Two different dealers .

    I'll get my coat .

You had a bad experience and sounds like they let a numpty loose on your car so therefore all Lexus and Toyota techs must be untrained numpty cowboys.... Stands to reason doesn't it :whistling:

  7. I had a black is250 sr a few years ago . Had it super guarded when I bought it from my local Lexus dealer . Big mistake .

It looked a million dollars for 3 months then in the sun one day I've never seen as many buffer marks in my life .

It looked awful .it gradually got worse as the finishing coat wore away .

I traded it in soon after .

Lesson learnt never get a car buffed with one of them machines .not that I knew if was getting done cos I didn't .

Anyway good look mate and hope yours stays looking good .

  8. Fair enough and all reasonable objections. I'll get mine booked on I think.

Thanks chap. Apprwciate the help. I also think it may have happened due to pot hole as only noticed it last week.

    Stu

I'm not even going to look at mine ha bet it's the same .anyway what you doing driving looking at your steering wheel , look ahead ha .

Good luck let us know the outcome mate .

Lol. Only noticed it last week. It amazing how you just pick it up. Even the slightest of angle. Just doesn't look right!

Ha I know what you mean ,I try not to look it does my head in
