  1. Hi, I may have some standard fog lights, which parts exactly do you need? Just the lens? Let me know!
  2. I maybe up for this so will my bro in law, i have an IS220d and he has an IS200...guess this forum has hit rock bottom :(
  3. Hi Guys Thought i'd give my input into my recent experience with brakes. Well i needed my front discs/pads changing so i figures upgrade all 4 corners. After much research, i ended up going for MTEC Discs (Drilled and Grooved) with Mintex pads. Firstly i noticed uneven deposit on one rear disc and felt slightly dimpled which caused some judder on applying the brakes (indicating it is coming from the rear brakes). Also looked like the pad was wearing quite quickly, but that could be me! Ended up putting the original rear disc on that corner and the judder still ocurrs. Have got a replacement disc from the manufactuer so i will probably put that on with the original pads (which has plenty of life) and see if the problem disappears. The judder does get annoying and i've just started hearing a clunking noise coming from front on tapping the brakes as i pull off arrrggghhh!! Could be bushes or ball joint!?? Long story short, i can see why spending a few extra quid on genuine parts avoids this agro!
  4. A long run every 4 weeks or so with hot engine and running slightly high revs should be ok. Just keep it in your mind and it will all fall in place naturally! Mine has never had an egr clean nor dpf issues so far ( touch wood)!
  5. I would say look at the 220s then, just look for a good maintained car that is running well and has done some long runs in the past rather than used for just short journey s only. Like any diesel, a good thrashing on a long run is good for the engine just to clear the system and let dpf regenerate but what you mentioned about frequency seems fine, defo look for se-l bud with media pack :)
  6. You want OEM then surely you should just go to dealers?
  7. I would suggest sticking to an IS250 Auto, but keep looking and haggling to try and find the right deal, i do understand that will be a tough job anyway as not a lot out there.. I do a lot of short journeys, live in Cambridge and do face a lot of traffic and my work is only 5 miles away, but i get by in a diesel, still cheaper than running a petrol, i know because a mate of mine had a IS250 and it wasn't cheap to run!
  8. I guess excluding those things, just leaves service costs right? Mine is due for a major service in Feb, and that's £279 from dealer I believe. Bear in mind you can't get autos in the diesel model. I top up £75 full tank and that returns at least 400 miles. You probably won't get that on the 250. I had a look on auto trader, and for an auto, they are rare and not so common to find a SE-L. Would you consider IS200 at all?
  9. The reason why i opted for the 220 is because running cost, road tax etc. was all cheaper hence why...but i guess if you do low miles, then the 250 will do the job nice. the IS250s don't have timing belts, but are chain driven. Like buying any car, i would suggest get one with full service history, try and get lower miles and most importantly, ensure you negotiate hard! Remember, the road tax and running costs are higher than average, so this puts off a lot of people, but gives you more better buying power. Always knock off 10% and try and stick to it :) Buying privately is quite good, it allows you to know as much about the car and owner so you get a vibe of the way the car has been maintained and driven.
  10. Haha really, i'll keep using it until it starts adding BHP on top of the standard amount lol
  11. Why is there an ad on this forum from BHP Plus, but when you go to their website, they don't even have Lexus available on their car model selection criteria...bit silly isn't it??
  12. I've started my first bottle on my car, and have noticed it starts a bit better tbh. However haven't noticed improvement in efficiency. I suppose it may require a few tanks of these before noticing difference? I also try to use V Power Diesel too, hopefully a combination of all of these will be healthy for the car!
  13. Let us know how you get on bud, i'm local in Cambridge, happy to hear from other owners so i can learn too (I've had my IS for about a month now) - so far so good!!
  14. Hi bud I recently bought my IS220d SE-L, paid £6K got a 2006 model with 70K. I would say £6K budget is good enough to get a decent buy. Keep looking around, especially for the SE-L model as i have seen many IS250s for sale while i was looking. Although they're probably ok when the mileage is high, but some parts are likely to be needing replacement when they hit that kind of mileage. My tip for you is to look at all the SE-Ls available with the media pack etc. and if mileage is around 60-70K, all good! Unfortunately when they go beyond 100K, the resale value drop more as 100K is a big milestone for a lot of people. Hope my words of advise are useful! Shipz
  15. Cheers Frankie, yea i was told same too which i agreed to. Mounts from Lexus was around £75 so once i have everything, need to figure out the cut out for the left side tip. Have someone ready to do the job for me, and he works on a lot of jap sports cars and does a lot of fabrication so will probably leave in his hands to sort out for me..will defo keep you posted on it! If it all goes well, i will be happy as i preferred this option over the custom exhaust option as i don't want a loud exhaust :/ It's only a diesel lol
  16. Good stuff, unfortunately i don't know :( Glad you found a link!
  17. I hope you are following the basics and leaving the L and R switch on one of these directions rather than in the middle... I realised this when i first got my car
  18. Hello mate I have actually been in contact with the seller for a week and done the deal with him after ordering mounts etc off the dealer, he should be taking it off eBay tomorrow. Sorry bud!!
  19. I have an issue sometimes when i depress the clutch, hit the start button, it starts up then dies. Only way to overcome is once started, tap the accelerator to give it some gas and it runs fine. This issue is very intermitent, only does it sometimes, but mostly starts fine...haven't yet found the cause of this! Are you having the same issue? Or do you have no power at all?
  20. I have had my 06 IS220d with 71K miles for about a month now, a total fill up takes about 55 litres (with computer saying i have around 20 miles left) so if some is kept on reserve, 60-65 litre tank sounds about right. Every full tank fill up gives me around 400 miles per the computer, but i usually get around 420 if i do some long runs too. I believe i am doing early 30's in town but early 40's on the long run. I find it hard to believe that you could get 500 miles out of a tank, is this on a long run? I moved from a 2005 320d and have a good idea of both cars now. BMW is better for that build quality and performance, but Lexus all day long for comort, reliability, gadgets and looks :)
