Hi all,
I am seriously looking into buying a SC430 / Soarer but I cant quite decide on what colour to buy it in! There are a lot of white ones on the market at the moment, well at least more so than the black / dark maroonish colour but I just dont know if i like the white!
I am a big fan of white on other cars, and it can look real good but has anyone got a white one, or has anyone seen any nice white ones on the road? Any pics??
Your help and comments are appreciated!
- Mark
cant say i have seen a white one over here, it was never an optional colour
red looks great !

Contact SPC Horsham SPC CLICK ME they are running a turbo IS 200 and have mapping capabilities at their centre if you're near or will give you best advice.
quite a way from Sweden
-
well buying a turbo kit for my is200 and have very little knowledge on what ecu i should use.
any help whit info on this would be great
depends how much you want to spend, and who will be mapping it
if you are using a local tuner for mapping ask him what he can work with
HKS are good but have limited authorised mappers
Greddy are good
Motec very good

all models have a slight tint to the windows
what many tinters do is put a legal tint on, but combined with the original tint it may well put it over the accepted levels
I do believe that to dark a tint is a safety concern, you wouldnt wear sunglasses at night .......would you ?

thats going to take some cleaning up
never try and understand human behaiviour

most local watchmakers or electronic shops do them
and they are not expensive

What's the silver ECU type looking thing - is that the standard TTE silver ECU that's always referred to as I've never actually seen one of them!
And shameless plug - I have a brand new TTE Black ECU sitting in a jiffy bag :)
thats a standard Toyota/Lexus ECU !
-
Anyone thought that this is for a tezza not an IS seeing as its in Japland?????????????
most probably is
but it is the 6 cylinder 1gfe Altezza as written in the ECU
it is also definetly a tte kit
so will fit a Lexus IS200
-
due to my "contact " i can get all the prices from TTE for there products,i can sort a way of getting the stuff cheaper but i need to talk of post about this
eg of prices(in dm)
front bumper(painted)...............858.61
coilover dampers/springs...........2397.85
anti roll bars..............................868.39
these prices include german tax,but not delivery, the price of delivery will add to the price but i can get the parts initially cheaper
Mat,
I assume that's in GBP for the parts, any idea what the freight cost to australia straight out of Germany would be?
I know it might become a bit of a pain for me posting all these questions on the UK forum, but the aussie one doesn't have an awful lot of activity on it...
Thanks anyway mate

Hi,
before i get slated for my first post, I have used the search funtion but found nothing of use unfortunately.
I have been looking at 18" wheels for my 56 plate is220D on fleabay but can only find wheels which will fit an is200. Now the offset and PCD seems the same but you guys are the ones to ask so quite simply will they fit my is220D if they say the will fit an is200?
Thanks in advance.
pretty much a yes
there are quite a few 200's with 220 wheels on
so imagine it works both ways although i think the 220 wheels are on some specs wider than the 200

nice one, glad you are happy with it :D

Well from the condition of the intercooler i think the car had a crash. But you never know in what condition the rest of the sc is. Also how much it will cost to ship in Europe.
judging that the ecu and various other important bits are in the pictures, i would believe the car is not on the road any more, the intercooler shows signs of being involved in a crash, but not a significantly major one, the charger unit is in a well protected position so should be ok

if you disconnect your battery, it will not die.
full tank of gas would be advisable as well.
the alarm will though !

wouldnt worry too much
is it under cover or out in the open ?
if its in the open give it a nice wash and wax and preferably a decent cover on it
may need jump starting after 6 weeks, but depends on your battery strength
short runs and intermittant starting will do it more harm than leaving it doing nothing
good luck with the operation, hope it all goes well :)
sorry bazza but i use my is200 intermittantly, so should i give it a good run on the motorway every now and then ? coz at the mo i do as you say would do harm ?
its not particulary doing it harm, but doesn't do it much good !
a quick blast does it the world of good, try and use the rev range through the gears, try to vary speed and what gears you use, getting it up to temperature will allow any condensation in the engine and exhaust to dispel
the ecu learns how the car is driven, so vary your driving to use all aspects of the ecu settings

im looking for a lsd for my is200 SE
were is the best place to find one, i have tried fleabay and sum local breakers but no luck
also whats the going rate on a lsd?
Don't think they come up very often
The Kaaz 2 way is available here from Ireland @ 865 Euro's
A Tom's one goes for approx £900+ from what I've found
wouldnt advise a 2way one, not on a road going car

could have a quick shift fitted
takes some getting used to, but still easy when you know how

How much is a SC and will it work on my car regardless of it being Auto?...also how much to fit it? And why is a full exhaust better than a SC?
supercharger will work fine on an automatic
full exhaust system will only enhance a supercharger, and give minimal if any gains on a n/a
2nd hand charger kits are around the £2000 mark at present, very little chance of any new ones still being available !

seems a bit harsh ! but it probably cuts down on the accidents through inexperienced drivers
strange when you consider a 17 year old in the UK can pass their test and jump in a highly modified or very powerful car, their only restriction is being able to afford the insurance premiums

Hi guys just a quick one that i need help with! basically ive used all the petrol in my tank, and its sat on the drive at the moment as i cant use it for a few weeks it started cutting out and spluttering the last time i started it so i just need to know if this is likely to cause any damage ( any crap from the bottom of the tank being sucked in?) and also if when i put more in do i need to do anything to get it going again or will it just start? probably sounds like stupid questions lol but havnt got any knowlege of anything yet and am still learning! thanks for any replies :)
should be fine
just top it up, there is a filter within the tank
