  1. Don't think its been covered, can't find it and maybe I havn't looked hard enough, but anyway,

Is there a way to make all the windows go down at the same time? Think its called global or something.

I remember seeing it on an old mates 'Y' reg audi. He did something with the remote key fob.

    Any ideas?

only possible with an aftermarket alarm with full closure or with custom electronic gear

  2. if it is not your fault then you will not get penalised

even if lexus do take control they will need to inform your insurers ? sounds as if they are touting for the work

most insurance companies handle everything for you including personal claims and hire cars, lets face it thats why you pay them

i would say give your insurance a ring and let them sort it out for you

  3. yes but if you dont lower your prices when it drops, but then rise then when it rises its a bit off is it surely?

    I see your point,

In theory the tax was lowered to boost/help the economy, as much as it was aimed at the buyer, many retailers who were struggling took a helping hand as well

  4. Hi, I'm really thinking of buying wintertyres, and simple black iron steel wheels to fit them on. It's just for the winter, don't really care if it looks dodgy.

Now, looking on the internet, I can't seem to find 16" wheels specificaly for a Lexus, and here's the question.

Whith which car does the Lexus IS200 share the same 16" wheels? Might be an Avensis, might even be a BMW, don't care, just need the info. I might be able to find fitting wheels with tyres if I know they can originaly be from another car.

It's just because I'm a bit surprised about what the local tyrecenter is charging me for a set of aloy wheels (which I really don't want, but they don't do steel wheels, 'cause it's only costing about 15€ more for each aloy, still makes 60€ extra for the total :duh: ) and it's about 135€ per wintertyre. Makes 840€ in total, which is a lot of money :crying:

On the net I often come up to people selling good wintertyres with wheels, or aloy's, for less than 500€, makes enough difference to ask this question here :winky:

    Grtz, Philip!

    honda

    mazda

    mitsubishi

    toyota

    kia

there are quite a few, try searching for the bolt pattern

  5. 4wd or 2wd you still need winter tyres

4WD is surely better though? I remember that episode of Top Gear where he was testing the X-type estate with 4WD and despite being on standard road tyres he was having no problems with traction.

Having said that, our Mercedes is so much better on the snow and ice than the IS200 - is that the weight making a difference? (it's also that the ESP is far more responsive than the TRC in the Lexus)

as far as i know most modern SUV's 4x4 are predominatley front wheel drive only kicking into 4x4 when they need to, which is an advantage in ice and snowy conditions, having the weight over the driving wheels

  6. most of cars in the u.k have summer tyres and when winter comes they are crap but if you get decent winter tyres on it will be fine mate.

still nursing my wallet from 4 new summer tyres so seems a bit extreme for 1 day per year

now if they would make a 4wd version, but i guess that's a whole different thread

4wd or 2wd you still need winter tyres

  7. what model is it made for? looks fine to me mate.

Made for the Is300 which has a different engine i believe. Does anyone know if its the same and woiuld fit the Is 200?

    will not fit the IS200

from distant memories on previous IS300's there also may be a problem fitting on a RHD IS300, I believe the steering gear gets in the way !

  8. LOL at Bazza!!

But the fact remains his car is as he says - the 330 BHP one is even better. Don't believe it just take one out for a drive.

Bazza you are welcome to come down with Janey and take our car [ My Car ] , Project 550 out for a run we are going to go to 1.2 bar next week so will see 350

I may take you up on that offer :)

  9. hi there i have one of spc turbo kits and all i can say is that its the nuts.

you get so much for your money,if you compare it to the supercharger kit the power diffrance is out of this world.

i think the supercharge ones could just get 220bhp,stage1 turbo kit is 250bhp,and then all you need to do is get the stage2 kit which is bigger injectors and a remap and you are over 300bhp,and this is still on the std engine.

im waiting for my bigger injectors so at the min im on 250bhp but boy dose it make a diffrance the car just comes alive.

mine comes on boost at about 4000k which is nice as you can drive around town and it is still a lexus but then let it rev over 4000k and all hell brakes loose.i get the noise from the screamer pipe and the chatter from the turbo then the dump valve.

as i say the car has come alive by doing this i highly recommend it.

    thanks jamie

    well recommended Jamie

would be very commendable if it wasnt for the fact you work for SPC :whistling:
