I was just looking at this company the other day; they've got a really good reputation. Don't know first hand however. They offer a refurb service for Air struts - a cheap(er) alternative to new; will report back if I decide to go with them....

Call me a cynic but I reckon it's all deliberate on Clarksons part. They're all nearly out of contract, this way he manages to get fired (negating non-compete clause in his contract), then sues for wrongful and wins £s. He's now free to go his own way do his own thing which he's already got in the pipeline. what's the betting they all come back to our screens (itv,Sky, whoever) with a world first special of the much hyped la Ferrari vs. p1 vs. 918 comparison, to blow ratings out of the water. Also, as a point, he doesn't hate japs and love Germanics - he's always banging on about how great Honda are (were) and how ******* porsche are. Think he just genuinely likes cars. At the risk of controversy on this site, perhaps our lexus's are not as good to drive as bmw, Mercedes equiv and as a journalist, he's just pointing that out. We just like them for different reasons; for me it's value for money and reliability.

Thanks for all your responses everyone. Looks like my best option is to try a breaker, though the ones I've approached so far want £200 ish- I can get a new one from the US for £230.... I did try Lexus but they basically told me to 'go forth and multiply'.

Hi all, I'm new to the fold having just bought an 04 ls430. Got a problem in that the front pulley has sheared off he driveshaft, so need a new compressor. Have a receipt from the previous owner only 22 months previously when the a/c compressor was replaced by lexus dealership. Car has full LSH and covered just under £100k. Two questions: can I get lexus to replace foc under the sale of goods act. They have said doesn't apply as sale was between previous owner and them, not me and them. Is this true? There's obviously an underlying problem to go through two compressors in under 100k, any ideas what? From the paperwork I have, owner had a/c problems throughout ownership. Thanks in advance....
