For crying out loud, white lights at the front so you can see where your going, white lights at the rear so you can see where your going, the camera is an aid and nothing more. Reverse light/lights also tell/ inform other motorists of your intentions so act as a tell tail light, it's not rocket science. Lexus don't get much wrong but this is all about design over functionality, and it would be far to costly for Lexus to put right, it's not classed as dangerous so there will be no recall. We could all enroll on a Jedi masters course, might even get a group discount, may the Force be with your when your reversing or just a good old full moon, that's WHITE as well.

Can u take some pics, of the other side of the pump please and a close up of any writing/words might shed some more light on whether it is or isn't .

Hi I too got a genuine 13/14 DVD E18 ver 2 from joker 4791 in Germany for £65 off eBay, good value for money as I initially got a copy DVD and found it had no zoom function, they told me they left it off as the ran out of room on the disc,that cost £40 ,but I did get my money back so all ended well. I agree, Japanese and Korean manufactures use cotton but European manufactures the likes of the (german and French) use paper. You never know Boxbrownie, for all we know Robin might have OCD,after all he's does like a clean highly polished car, (which will aid fuel consumption slightly) less drag,in which case he might also like a finer filter, every little bit helps!.

They generally won't make much difference if any at all , cone filters will give u cooler, so denser air which will aid combustion. They do increase air flow, due to the filter being less restrictive, but this will only really works on high powered performance cars but It will however filter out even smaller particles than standard paper elements.

A K n N filter will not necessarily make much of a difference if anything at all,they tend to be more free flowing less restrictive allowing moe air through on high performance cars when req'd,and will filer even smaller particles. On cleaning and re - oiling you mustn't over oil,as it has been known for the excess oil to contaminate the air mass sensor sometimes, causing catastrophic engine damage,Subarus spring to mind.

Just looked the Q8 oils application database it says you can use 0w-20 2 types of 5w-30 And even a10w-40 The latest and best spec being the 0w-20, so if your dealer doesn't supply it, it might be worth buying it yourself and giving it to them to put in on your next service ,but only use reputable makes.

Lower viscosity oils will defiantly improve fuel consumption to a degree and so will inflating your tyres, the only downside to inflating your tyres is they will bow a bit like this ) but the other way round, causing your tyres to wear out prematurely in the centre, but yes, less rolling resistance. Don't forget manufactures do a lot of testing before deciding on the optimum tyre pressures, based on ride comfort and efficiency. Your tyre pressures will also increase as the temperature rises as you drive. Your choice of tyres will make a difference as will staying away from cheap supermarket fuel

Hi Just got one for my rx ,from seller joker4791 on eBay in Germany, genuine Lexus E18 single disc version 2 for Western Europe. Got it for £65 including postage ,he's got lots of different ones,obviously split up the 4 pack and sells them separately ,ordered mine last Thursday at midday, in and working at 09.15 on the Tuesday morning.

You will generally save more money on major services by taking it too a local, prestige or Toyota specialist. Have a look on the good garage scheme website, where you can put in your postcode and check out the customer's feedback of garages near you. All good garage scheme members use forte treatments/ additives, they'll put one in with the oil and one with the fuel with amazing results, by bringing compressions back into line and cleaning the air/fuel ratio sensors, the benefits are a smoother more fuel efficient engine. Brilliant, I just love reading all the comments on here about the the white lights to the rear of this particular vehicle, that produce as much light as old miners lamp or less. We'll I'm just glad it's just not me that thinks there s****, I was just in the process of booking myself an appointment with a well know spectical supplier, talk about relieved, them designer ones aren't cheap!. I have twice come close to reversing into a couple of posts,one on my drive and one on my mates only last night, and that's with me fog n brakes lights on too,so there's only one thing for it, I'm going have to find that left over spot light, that I had bolted on my mini boot lid back in the 80's, that'll light the bugger up. Fuchs are very good oils,up ther with the best. Some oil manufactures with do crazy deals for bulk orders,so they will probably have only the 1 oil grade and use it in anything, I don't know? It's more critical in some cars than others 10w-40 was considered fine for 400h 05-06 but not a year round or not recommend for temps below -10 so the 5w-30 became the norm 06 onwards . Basically their going to do an oil and filter changed for £40 quid,just doesn't add up but what they might do is produce a list as long as your arm of things you need doing, sir your shockers are leaking (after they have sprayed duck oil on them) your brakes are binding( but rather the strip and clean them,will try and sell u discs and pads all round then telling you, oh it's your calipers too) and your tacking out (it might be but to what degree) I know it goes on its happened to friends of the family, but the usually pick on the vulnerable some people panic oh can't do with out my car and in a lot cases with have it done and that's how they make ther money. I wouldn't compromise my engine for the sake of a few quid, engine rebuilds are expensive. Interesting to see nelmo used a cheap own oil in his bike and it went on to do96,000 miles fore he sold it, in my bikes( yamaha r1/fz1) I use the oil q8 10w-50 racing and change it every 3000 miles without fail.(be interested in finding out what year and size bike nelmo had?). Another question I would ask is why a expensive quality car then compromise on it's maintaineance. Sound like a job for an auto electrician to carry out the necessary checks first, but should u need an abs pump there are a number of company's that should be able to fix it for you, like BBA REMAN / ACTRONICS /AUTOTRONICS /ECUTESTING they may all not do Lexus pumps but worth a call.

Ref the wipers they will be rain sensitive surely , so u won't have intermittent. Operate once to clear the screen on entering the vehicle then it will work from the rain sensor if it set correctly on auto. On my wiper stork it says Mist (manually operated) Off Auto Lo Hi Or something like that.

Hi No need to buy genuine discs n pads as they are expensive and are all made to the same specification (reg90) which is within 10% of the originals fitted at the factory. I use Pagid from Euro car parts, made by TMD friction and zinc coated for so the don't go rusty like other that aren't coated. Do it on line and u even get free delivery within a couple of days and would think you are looking around £100-115 for the fronts and £95-105 for the rear all inc vat. Regards Shaun

Hi Tow bar express were wrong,the tow bar fits all the RX range up 2009. I will only use a westfaila detachable bar with 13pin, a little bit more expensive maybe but far superior to others and I would recommend dedicated electrics also ,so u end up with a like for like as you would get from a Lexus main dealer. Cost me around 700 but dealer wanted around 1300. This was done in Hull so you might find a price difference down in the capital. Call Westfaila on 01785 226 888 and find a few authorised fitters near you. Regards Shaun

My opinion as a self employed mechanic (ex Toyota ,Mercedes,jaguar, bmw) is that national tyres are doing charity work at that rate, put it this way they are not using a quality oil, not at that price. An oil filer would cost me in the region of £5 or 6 quid +vat so might retail about £8 or 9 + your vehicle takes 4.7 litres so say 5 litres of high quality fully synthetic retailing at around £10 a litre + so that's around 60 quid ish for arguments sake, then an hours labour at around £45 to 50 + screen wash etc so say £140 ish inc vat for good reputable garage to do it. Note; oil filter media is made to be comparable with the oil designed for that engine, using the wrong oil can cause this to become brittle and break up,this is really only visible on paper element insert filters. I have come across this on 3 occasions on servicing new customers cars. Conclusion avoid national tyres like the plague,use Lexus for the minor services until u find a reputable garage to take on your car, and don't be afraid to ask important questions like what make and spec of oil are they using. Forgot to mention DONT opt for a cheaper flush, as a lot are solvent based and DONT do what they say on the tin. I have used forte products for around 20 odd years and they just keep getting better. Shaun

Hi You have absolutely nothing to worry about, most manufactures state 1 litre to about a 1000 miles is ok,from memory BMW state 600 miles to 1 litre. From max to min on most dipsticks will be around 1 litre of oil. But if you would like to reduce the cars oil consumption I would advise you flush your engine using forte advanced formula engine flush added to warm engine oil,you can either leave it to idle, or you can drive with it in for approx 45 mins then drain until lit stops dripping, adding an oil system protector on refilling. The flush will remove the glaze/varnishing on the bores and the oil system protector will help prevent oil burning. They are not available to buy in any shops so you will have to find a good garage scheme member close to you and see if he will sell you them,setting u Back about £23 + vat, If you would like more info on the products, type forte lubricants into your search engine and the good garage scheme to find the nearest garage to you selling the products. I would also check the spec of the oil you are using as I'm not sure it's correct . These are the specs you should be using GM Dexos 2 MB 229.51 BMW LL-04 VW 502.00/505.01 ACEA A3/B4 ACEA C3 low saps I would only recommend a known brands like Q8 SHELL MOBIL CASTROL non of the cheap crap u get from auto factors,own brands etc, it's cheap for a reason! their is a big difference in the quality of the additives they use.
