Thanks Paul i have never heard of GROM .i did check the video out. I have been in contact with viastech (the same person i bought the unit for the 430 from) and he suggested that i would use the MML unit for the 460.The cost is 250usd i left a message that i would go ahead if they paid the shipping, Maybe if we ordered a unit each they might be more willing to ship for free (cheeky i know , but worth a try) would that be something you would be interested in?. I am located in St Helens. If you wish to discuss this or need help fitting any unit you get please feel free to contact me 07899684249 regards Keith http://www.vaistech.com/product-category/usb-aux-input/

Hi all , i have fitted a xcarlink interface to my ls460 to pair up with a ipod classic 160gb , i nave a good engineering background so installing these things correctly isnt a problem . On completion the ipod got hot quickly and was trying to reboot itself constantly and there was no display,The ipod still works well in its house or garage dock . i spoke to the guys at xcarlink and they suggested that it was a ipod problem, so i used my sons ipod touch, this played music but with no display and a constant background interference ,( to me this suggest that the unit is not suppressed or it is picking up an electrical field from the car wiring harness, a routing problem) .The guys at carlink have been as helpful as possible over the phone but i am removing and returning their unit tomorrow. In my previous ls430 i installed a Viastech unit which worked well if all the music was in playlists. Can anyone of you helpful people suggest another piece of kit which will allow full use of all controls ,keep the cd working and allow me to enjoy the brilliant Mark Levison system, I am going to email viastech and see what they suggest for the 460 , Many thanks Take care Keith

Hi Daniel it has covered a genuine 44000 , i have checked MOT's and Lexus service records from the only other owner ,who was a director for a large electronics company , i have no reason to believe that this is not a true low mileage car -
Hi Phill the 460 is quieter quicker smoother ,comfier. it;s a lovely place to be , and has less than a third of the miles on than the 430 .(but no lpg) The on board computer says at a steady 85 mph it was returning 32.3 mpg , i know thats only a guesstimate but i can live with that , cut out the short journeys and use it as a pleasure beast

yes we had a good run home apart from seeing a crash in the road works of the m6, but using the brake hold option even took the boredom out of queuing. sat nav must have been updated because it new its way around some newer roads and m6toll , i have nav discs and even a dvd of the Lexus Symphony Orchestra which is 12 ls 460 laid out like an orchestra playing music recorded from world class musicians through the Mark Levison system to a concert sized crowd (can be Googled) Amazing ride and quality of finish . whisper quite ,going from 60 to 90 for a heavy car is comparable to my 1040 cc motorcycles

Hi all the search is over , i have now exchanged my 51 plate 430 for a 07 Ls 460 se-l silver with ivory leather and dark maple trim and after all my other wasted trips i am a happy bunny . Travelled 520 mls round trip to Hollybrook car sales in Southampton where the car was exactly as advertised all checks and history were confirmed 44,000mls flsh the part ex price was honoured ,and a deal was struck , very good people to deal with . The car is immaculate and a pleasure to drive and unlike others i've seen absolutely everything works, all it needs is a battery for the key card (£3 flea bay) . it came with 2 x smart keys so that's not a major concern Take care Keith

Many thanks Michael , i think i have found one , all checks clear, 44k miles with flsh, one owner, excellent trade in for my ls430, going to view on Monday, I have had it checked by a friend in the trade and all the seller is telling me turns out to be true , even its previous private plate which i didn't know about. I will let LOC know what happens and post photos Thanks again Take care Keith

Many thanks Derek , after further research , and your input ,i now understand which cars have the massage function, I am currently looking at 3 ls460 as far a field as Scunthorpe , Glasgow and Portsmouth .Must be mad .I have been to see Mercs , Jags and nothing really comes close to the 460 for similar money, hopefully if i put enough feelers out i will find the one im after. Serves me right for being so fussy, not really concerned about exterior colour but must have beige / ivory leather . flsh, which i would keep up, not many miles and low price , not much to ask for . he he he Thanks again take care Keith

Hi i did walk away , i'm just not sure it was a full spec se-l something didn't ring true with my research ... hence previous post. the inner petrol head in me said no. i was walking around it weighing up pros and cons , if all was ok i'm sure i would have felt it, could it have been a true car without the rear massage seats?

Hi all i have just returned from a 9 hour round trip to view a 56 plate ls 460se-l (not sure it was a se-l) these are my findings . The car drove brilliantly, smooth all gears / brakes worked as they should (19000 miles) poor paint respray on front valance, looked like it had been painted with a rattle can in a back yard on Friday afternoon over spray on passenger door rubbers at high level passenger mirror hitting window when car locked, with window open mirror entered cabin by over one inch no massage seats??? , they where heated and vented it did have radar cruise and lane safety function Lexus emblem was raised on steering wheel ( thought on ls460's se-l they where flat) dvd and rear electric /side and rear blinds and rear drop down visors all worked tyres had about 20% left Am i correct in thinking this isnt a se-l or could it be an early one not registered until 56 plate, the millage is proved correct, i would be grateful for any input from LOC many thanks Keith

insurance conundrum
keithls430 replied to Malc's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
In my experience rip off insurance companies wont allow third party fire and witchcraft ,or the cost is on par with fully comp . It certainly pays to shop around and adjust excess or really consider what the company is offering . i had a multi car policy with Admiral who insisted on auto renewing the policy even after i told them not to , i moved to LV and halved the price
