  1. Many Thank for the info Nev, I have ordered the 2 rear backplates from AMAYAMA in japan £67 delivered, Good company to know about, And they say they are genuine parts, Just hope I get them, I will let you know the outcome, Thanks again Gus.
  2. Hi Guys, Thanks for all your help, I was told by europarts and other suppliers that you can't get aftermarket backplates/dust covers. They have to come from lexus, Perhaps their prices include a car bolted on to them HA HA! So just going to buy any ones of the same diameter, and the mechanic said he would adapt them to fit, Can get them for around £20 each. Cheers.
  3. Thanks for your replies guys, The back plates as I thought they were called, have rotted and are loose, in fact the o/side rear was hanging on by a thread, so I pulled off what was left of it, the n/ side rear is nearly as bad. Can't seem to find them online, but as you say, maybe they are called DUST COVERS so i'll try again to hunt them down, Cheers.
  4. Anyone know where I can get new disk backplates, at a reasonable price, As I think the ones from lexus must be gold plated, As I was quoted £365 + vat - and wait for it - yes -EACH, It is a 2005 RX 400h, Many Thanks.
  5. Many thanks for all your replies, they have been a great help. Cheers, Gus.
  6. Yes my 400h is the same, I had a prius before this, and it was exactly the same. I think it is the power generated by braking that gives a surge of electricity, a bit annoying at times. But yes they're all the same
  7. Hi, I've had my 2005 400h for 2 years now, and have noticed a slight drone from the rear, not really heard at 75 mph, but heard more at about 50 mph, car has done 69k miles, I do mostly short journeys around town, when you don't really hear it too bad, but went on a trip last week, and after about 100 miles, came off motorway and hit a 50 mph limit and noticed the noise. Pulled over and one of the hubs was very slightly warmer than the other, Had al brake pads and parking brake shoes and cables renewed about 7k miles ago, So I'm suspecting a wheel bearing noise, Is it best to renew the hole hub assembly, or just the bearings, as the dealer is looking for over £300 per side, although they are on ebay for around £100 each for the hub assembly, Has anyone bought the cheaper ones, -are the inferior, what's the best make to buy. Many Thanks for any help you can give, cheers Gus.
