Its not that hard. Just a slight stretch. Hoping to add TV tuner and DVD soon once my bank balance recovers ← Hey idmax, I was looking at the same unit today... wots involved in getting this setup? What is there to buy, need to figure out total cost before taking the plunge. Looks Nice! ← You need the Navigation unit (Alpine NVE N099P) the screen (Alpine TME M770) Thats it really rest is installation and of course the Nav Housing. The Alpine bits I paid £1275 and the Nav Housing was purchased froma group member in Germany for £360. I was lucky to get it really. -

Hardest bit was assembling the housing ← Am I missing something or is there some reason why that annoying caution screen is still there? ← That screen appears each time you turn the navigation on, it is in all navigation systems basically protects the manufacturers should you have an accident if the navi sends you down the wrong road eg one way street the wrong way -

I have just finished modifying my install and now has a fully motorized Lexus Navigation housing holding an Alpine touch panel screen controlling an Alpine Nve N099p navigation system. Pics are below:

I used cable ties intead, doen yhr job just as well and wont scratch the back of my screen

I have just changed my setup again, it is in a lexus sat nav housing, fully motorized, not very hard to do if you can find the screws and bits required. WIll post some photos soon.

Where can I buy the threaded brass rod to hold the screen in place in a navigation console. I cant seem to find it anywhere, can anyone help, thanks

Anyone know where I can obtain the Lexus sat nav housing for a reasonable price? I dont want it motorized for now just the basic parts needed to fit on the dash and be able to use it manually. Thanks

Problem with those is they do not connect to the vehicle speed sensor they rely on the GPS signal. When you ose the signal the system thinks you are stationary. This can cause some problems such as missed exits.

Just been to central London (Sloane Street), This system got me around the conjestion charge. It has an option to avoid toll roads. I did not realize it had this feature, well chuffed!!

My Alpine unit (NVE N099P) is made by aisin aw aswell, maybe you will be able to source the laser from alpine, its worth giving them a ring. -
