Reminds me of two blokes viewing a 70's Roller and one says "Cars got more Puddin(g) than metal under the Windscreen" . Not heard that expression before, or since. Didn't they use to use Lead as a filler at one time? How it stuck to Steel I can't imagine. Non-ferrous maybe, but to steel?

You got 2! Want to swop one for my Chevrolet Camaro 😀
Wouldn't mind a Chevy Camero. (Is it like the Triple D's?
I used to watch them race at Snetterton against Galaxy 500's when as a lad I did a bit of Marshalling.
Got Jack' Lincoln (Continental?) or Mike's Edsel going spare. Interested? Price of a 2nd class stamp

Thanks Phil. More research needed. I put in part number 47781 which gave a few options but when check combatability it states "doesn't fit my Car".
Tell me, if it says Right side. Is this looking from the Drivers Seat or the from the front of the vehicle. Never clear on this and it rarely shows Car image and arrow.
Seems like I'll need search the second part to the number 47781 to be certain.

Looked for parts number 47781 and 47782 which are front Brake dust shields. Found image and part numbers but nothing shows when trying to find if they have any.
They quote vehicle as Europe but presumably having the "R" after UCR10 suggests RHD. ?
I didn't sign in. Essential perhaps?

I was thinking of something like this, possibly mounted in the glovebox:
and then you'd run the cable to the fuse box and earthing point, presumably.
I've got used to this set up. Still has the Cigar lighter (not that I can run to Montecristo these days or would smoke in the Mota!)
Provides me with the two USBs which I run to the dashcam and the Satnav when needed. Don't use the other cigar socket but could add another couple of USB's with another insert. Untidy? well I use cable ties to hold the cables in around the rest of the units.
Only wish the car had an Aux. My Cassette doesn't work and its not as easy to get in to as the thread on here for a LS430. In fact its spot welded on all sides, so a no no.

I see your point. You could buy one of these so that the bulkier Transmitter can be fixed by the passenger central side wall. I have a four way voltage showing adapter permanently plugged into my Ash Tray Cigar socket. It give me two optional Sockets which can be switched on or left off and two USB points. You can of course just use a plug that has two USB points - as below combination

I have one of these stuck centrally on the Dashboard and at present it is used for my Dash cam but that goes on to the Mirror when I need my Sat Nav to be in that position.
Some reversing Cameras have the display the passenger side facing the Driver. Another good use for one of these discs. Is there any reason why you can't route the power cable via the door jam into the bonnet and to the Battery with an appropriate fuse?
Its my next job to move my Screen from the rear parcel shelf as it's only easily viewable in poor light. Even with a Screen around it which I bought (are used by Drone enthusiasts) its not a grand image. I might however be able to continue with the power coming from the Brake light as it does at present. Just will need to cut off the female red plug and link the red pos. cable to the integral red wire which coems with the Yellow circuit. Then the black to a nearby earth point. Well, I think thats all I've got to do?

Have a feeling that my most recnet purchase from Rock was delivered by Yodel. May be wrong. DHL - beware scam emails. Can't recall Rock using them but? May depend whjere you are located?

That £23m new property in Moncao had all the appeal and appearance externally of a Grotto on Great Yarmouth Sea front.
Can't imagine how they got permission to build it. Ugly or what?
One thing is for certain the Builders would have had to have been a lot more careful than those in the UK where to use a Stone cutter little thought is given to where the dust and grit will blow!
-
Now that really is OCD!
Is there a crack in the adjoining part, I think I can see? Twenty year old car and if that the only OCD thingy then you've got a bargain.
Personally I'd not want to remove parts for fear of causing further damage. rear clips break etc.
Touch up paint would for me be the way to go - after very careful checking to get exact match. A bit of tromp l'oiel. But then, I'm a cheapskate!
ps looking at younger Jap Crown Majesta's the wood trim is peeling away and multple cracks to the Upper foam covered plastic.
Good luck with your search

The Dogs enjoying it! Wish my own looked as pristine. Bit puzzled as to why your Leather looks so supple. wonder if the earlier Mk 1 and 2 had better quality Leather. My own is somewhat brittle and has crease marks. £140k on the clock perhpas not dissimilar. I've often thought the earlier Cars had a better quality Leather, almost Nappa?

Sticking needles being an exception to the rule Howard. They don't stick during colder weather! My own stuck AGAIN yesterday, and I'm somewhat hesitant in removing the cluster and wiping the sticky away. My 1993 car is one to which this can be done, so I understand.
-
You could try taking off the negative terminal at Battery and waiting twenty minutes before re-connecting. Then leave for ten minutes before starting the Car.
As you had the Cluster out recently it may be something to do with the time interval you should always allow before working on the cluster though I believe this has more to do with the Air bag.
Perhaps worth a try especially if it was working properly before your unfortunate connector issue.

Soft close doors or Power doors as are quoted on Japanese sales, I suspect are optional on purchase. Started on the W140 Merc series. Essentially you just push the door toward the jam and it self closes very quietly. No need to slam and wake the neighbours etc. Double Glazing once again intro' by Merc but pretty sure the LS430 has it as standard. Noise reducing. You can feel the thickess when open.
So, on steep streets you presumably put the Steering on opposite lock, so it falls back into the curb when parking? Never had a problem with my LS400 handbrake as use it every time I go out. A common fault and fail on MOT in UK to those who don't use it every time, I've noticed.
Wish it was cheaper to import from Japan to UK but still puts a 2006 model in the £5k range and with the Japanese wording, its still questionable as to the advantage. Also, notice Rock Auto in the States doesn't have the Crown Majesta in its parts listing. Many of us rely on importing parts from them. Possible its all the same as Celsior or LS430

Watching the second part of the series on Monaco the other night, looks like they are going to have to accomodate the nouveau riche. Got their first Tattoo parlour! Pole dancing at the Casino, next!
Wonder if old money will find it all a bit degenerate and start leaving the place before they croak it?
Can't compete with the high rollers from Eastern Europe who I read make Billions here in the UK from a certain business.
Guess the Grey Pound will just stay offshore with Mama in its 150 metre Yacht, or the copious dolly birds on the look out for a bright future.
Might get a bit (more) tacky but thats progress for you, init! (hope I'm not letting my envy show? lol)
The latest Lexus in those final images, or was it? You tell me as I don’t really follow Car design, other than knowing about the Rad grill which developed after Audi’s Bull Grill advert some years back. What is it they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

Howard, I don't know if this thread on the other forum may give you a clue as to what to check?
Q. below it sounds like your query but no answer other than above.

Still pleased with the Car, otherwise?.
Does your Car have soft close doors, and double glazing? How do you compare it to any other Lexus you've owned?
I do like the styling of the Car and am even tempted by the Hairdressers white. Mind you, I daresay this will pass.
PS All LS400's have the foot handbrake. Only time needed is on a P&O Ferry when they stow you on the side ramps. Bit hair-raisng I've found. Still no such issue in Oz.

Hope this is not a "now he tells me" moment for Paul?

Hi Andrew,
How's your Crown Majesta coping with the Australian heat and recent events?
I think when we last had a conflab I mentioned one of the downsides of the Car (which I personally prefer to the Celsior in looks) is that interior Wood trim - as seen in this rather nice example doesn't cope with heat. Such a pity though daresay it can be replaced.

try under LPG 06 L**** Guess we all have to be so careful these day. Don't want to upset anyone for fear of being a radicalist- ha ha ha. If only it was funny!

passenger side looks entirely different to the Drivers side - or is that my imagination/the light??
When is a crease not a crease?
Looks nice - not checked MOT history - could this be the sound one?

Bit curious Peter, was there a Panel (undertray) under the engine bay when you bought it?
Is it common to have so much rust for a Car of this age or has the owner been ploughing through a Ford on their way to work, daily?
Leaving the under tray off is not a good idea. Heavy Rain, puddles etc. are held back from doing the sort of damage your Car appears to have in terms of rust.
Well doen you for sorting it.

Hail LEXUS
Don't remind me of Hail - I've got the Golf Ball look already.
Funny how many Cars fail their MOT because of empty Water Bottles, I've noticed over the years. Such a simple and essential maintenance task

Another option is this reversing camera kit with a flush mounted camera, which would be neater, if it fits above the number plate:
Yes I did cut a hole between the two Number plate lights and just managed to thread the camera cable through without actually removing the strip which would have needed removing the rear lights or one of them. The Wireless idea was not arounf when I bought the kit many years ago and left it languishing in a cupboard. Not sure if I'd want more wireless stuff which might interfere with running my phone's music via Bluetooth to the Radio?
Oh no! my timing belt components held by customs.

Would be the best for Wing edges which no matter how much you cure rust and then fill and overspray, the rust reappears after a year.
Got some old lead piping in Garage but don't think I'll try my hand at it.
Problem with 'no lead' solder is knowing you've got the right flux for it. Still using H J Enthoven flux cored that came from Marconi's premises fifity years ago. Not had joy with silver solder.
