  1. Ive had my is250 sel since Oct 2005 One of the first, its done 40,000 miles and so far the only rattle is from the CD's in the glove compartment, my problem I think. In fact only problem I have had in 2 years was some discolouring of the front wheels, not really bad corrosion and Lexus Poole just fitted 4 brand new ones FOC.
  2. Colin - very interesting....do you know if this techie can sort out the volume for the Satnav which people complain is too low? And also the "Voice Activation" commands which also appear to be too low? I struggled on the test drive with the radio on at a resonable volume to hear what she was saying, but assumed it was adjustable...and my salesman had no idea... Not sure if it can be adjusted in this management control panel but there seemed to be a load of settings, I'm sure you know this but you can increase 'Her' volume in the satnav so that she speaks loader, also you can turn on the adaptive volume control which as I understand it increases 'her' volume based on the radio volume, I have 'her' set at about 4 and adaptive on and don't get a problem listening to her. Also 'She' only comes out of the RH front speaker so if you were a passenger it would have been quiet. Col
  3. Hi all, Just thought that you might like to know; That in addition to the normal volume controls on the IS250 touch screen under Audio, there is a hidden management control which adjusts the incoming and outgoing volumes. The delivered settings are set at 0 but can be adjusted up to 5. The technician at Lexus Poole set mine to 3 and that has dramatically improved the outgoing volume so I dont get any ....Pardon, Speak up, I cant hear you comments from my colleagues. I dont think that you can do it yourself since it requires some techie selecting of the Navigator management control panel by pressing the headlight stalk on the steering wheel in particular sequences. So if people cant hear you clearly then get down to your local Lexus Dealer for a fix Col
  4. Thanks for that, I did give them a ring but they has the Lexus bars not thule, so I contacted Thule and for anyone who is interesed the part numbers are: 2176, 761, 950 Unfortunately item 2176 wont be in the uk for at least another month Col
  5. Hi, Ive had my 250 since November and already have Thule roofbars and three bike holders, which fitted my is300. Unfortunately nobody seems to be able to tell me when (if!) there will be a fitting kit for the 250. Has anyone had experience of Thule and how long it may be before they release a fitting kit for a new model Thanks Col
  6. Yep, It a fact they like it so much they have been taking pictures of it, unfortunately I was a tad over the speed limit on my IS250 test drive when they took the picture OOPS! Anyway I can probably claim to be the first person in the UK to be caught speeding in an IS250? :)
  7. Hi all, On my test drive of the IS250 I am sure the dealer pointed out that I could set the speed or revs with a buton just to the right of the dash that will cause the Dashboard to glow red if you exceed the set speed or revs. Great for driving around town in 30's as a simple warning.. it has to be the coolest and original (I think) toy. Did I dream it?
  8. Sorry deejaygee i misunderstood what you were saying I forgot about the tiptronic function :D Its been a long day lol Thanks
  9. I dont think it would be because it has paddle shift on the steering wheel so i cant belive they would put a button there too. Oh of couse its the tiptronic, sorry, lexicon posted whilst i was typing lol
  10. It's not the power button, thats hidden behind the steering wheel because ive just seen a picture of that on the previous page.
  11. Heay everyone Ive been looking at some is250 interior pics and on left of the gear stick theres a button labeled "+ S -" What does this do? Thanks Niloc
  12. Hi, I had a clutch go a few years back on my is200, happened at about 70k, Lexus dealer was really helpfull and said that it shouldn't go that quick so I got discount, ended up paying for a whole new clutch fitted (actuator and plates) by them for under 200 quid, Probably get it done cheaper elsewhere but I reckon I got a fair price, and would be cheaper for just the plates Col
  13. Hi All, I Currently drive an is300 auto, drove the 250 this morning and I can report that the 250 would probably keep up with the 300, with a 6 speed box it is far more progressive and less jumpy than the 300, the pick up is amazing best auto box I have ever used. Visibility I thought was ok not brilliant but not awaful you dont get lines like the 250 without having to compromise somewhre anyway normal driving visibility is fine and parking is aided by sensors, and I agree the camera in reverse is just amazing. Real plusses for me Looks - everyone turned their heads! handling and performance is terrific Bluetooth integration for phone! and a connection for iPod noise-its so quiet Oh hell just everything is brilliant watch out BMW and Mercedes Though i think i may be the first person in the county to be caught in an IS250 by a speed camera. Dunno if he got me though. Opps P.S. I Bought one :D
  14. Hi. I am going to travel to France next week and was going to buy some headlight converters for my is3oo which has HID's. Someone has suggested that they can be converted by an adjustment in the bulb housing is this true if so is it easy? Col
