There was also a Tesla owner in the US who tried to charge when it was very cold and the car wouldn't let him. Several hours later he came back and it hadn't charged at all, it was still supposedly trying to warm up the battery but somehow failing to do so.

I also hear some people think the Earth is flat....must be ture right?

EVs in the UK seem to work fine in winter, any idea how hydrogen fuel cell cars manage a UK winter, so real life experiences you can share would be great :).

    OK you guys

THIS IS the refuelling station i want to use

    so tell me please

AND Gang where we can go meet with this purveyor of hydrogen stuff

    Malc

Looks fowards to it, glad to hear you have finally bought a hydrogen fuel cell car :).

Which one did you get? We are in Loch Lommand next week, why don't we meet up to compare how BEVs and Hydrogen fuel cells car work and give everyone some feedback?

  3. There are so many choices now buy what ever car you like with in your price range.

We've had an EV since 2015 as our main family car, our current EV is now 5.5 years old with 63k miles on the clock.

We are going to Loch Lommand from Leicester for half term, and in the summer going to Milan.

Our IS300H only gets used for local trips, it's done just 42k miles in 7.5 years.

The Mercedes EQ range is worth looking at as well as the BMW I range if you cannot bring your self to buy the default choice for EVs.

Oh I would love to visit Sweden in our EV, last year we did UK to Norway. We are lucky enough to have visited some amazing places in the world including New Zealand and most of the far east, Switzerland etc, but Scandinavia blew us away. If I was single and 'free' I would be seriously considering how to emigrated there, its an amazing part of the world with some of the friendliest people I have come across 🙂

It's a secret, only for those with hydrogen powered cars. If you give me the make, model, registration and VIN of your hydrogen car, then I can let you know your nearest location 🙂

Oh it requires someone to have bought an hydrogen fuel cell car!!

Given a number of posters on here love hydrogen fuel cell cars, let's see of they can help :).

sadly the Q is a bit dopey once one has read the dialogue herewith .............  and a normal adult, grown-up intelligence has even tried to comprehend what's going on with the hydrogen fuel availability and likely roll-out ..................

    Malc

....and the answer is?? Comeon it's not hard is it? Yes or No? 🙂

maybe . not sure ...... have you read the points here about the potential roll-out though ?

    Malc

So you cannot answer a question with a straight No or Yes?

Is 1200+ BP hydrogen fuel stations fantasy? Yes or No? Is it that hard concept to grasp?

Gang, do you need to return to primary school to learn to read all that's being said about the potential roll-out ?

    Gawd 'elp us all 🤣

    Malc

So the answer is Yes? 1200 BP hydrogen fuel stations is fantasy?

Can you not give a straight yes or no answer?

Gang, when you get permission from your daughter ( is it ) to use her secret access code to her computer then you can look up where all the BP forecourts are and understand that is likely to be the locations where you will be able to refuel with Hydrogen when the pumps are installed ..............  also there are the existing Hydrogen refuelling points where the local police forces refuel, where they have the Toyota Mirai Hydrogen cars

Gang, why don't you ask the Police where they refuel maybe .  then you'll maybe believe them 🙄......  and then continue your rigorous questioning with them ...  they might appreciate your attention to their needs  😅

    Malc

So Still no answer to my very simple question of where these 1200 BP hydrogen fuel stations are?

At this point I have to assume you are talking about fantasy versus reality?

Malcolm, you are clearly wasting your time on this.Someone is clearly a sole practitioner in the priapic arts.

    David

All I want to know is where these 1200 BP* hydrogen fuel stations are....Is that too much to ask?

*I miss quoted the figure before as 1000, so 20% underestimate.

Why is that then Gang  .  why do you look forward to seeing them ?  are you going to buy yourself a newfandangled hydrogen powered car ?

    Malc

Why wouldn't I? I've had an EV since 2015, my current phone folds in half, I've just managed to move my entire work flow to 'cloud' storage, and the builders have just finished foundations to our house where we are installing 4.5 meter high glazing with Alum smart wall support.....I like to try new things, something they work sometimes not, but you never know till you try.

But hydrogen fuel cars, you cannot even buy let alone refuel one. If you can find me one of these 1000+ hydrogen fuel stations you keep on talking about I suspect I'll probably at least try one before some on here who just like to talk but take no action :).

  11. Whilst we all wait for the fantasy that is BP hydrogen refueling stations to reach the real world of adults, just the number of DC EV rapid chargers in the UK built by one company is multiplying like rabbits.

I look fowards to seeing hydrogen fuel stations reach similar numbers, end of this year or next? What's peoples bets on here? 🙂

methinks every 10 years or 100k miles is somewhat negligible  imho   😇  .  and all that expensive suspension stuff about every 150k miles too

let's just wait to see what a 10 y/o / 100k miles EV looks like for maintenance costs at that time .......  if I'm still around to find out  🤣

    Malc

I can tell you in 2027, so 3 years away, though we'll probably hit 100k miles in the Tesla by 2026.

Currently maintance costs = 1 12V Battery, 1 set of front brakes, 1 aircon regas, and tires every 20-25k.

Gang, perhaps your daughter could teach you to use the internet. 😁

I actually cannot get into my daughters iPad as she doesn't tell me her pin :).

But I must be missing something because I cannot see the 1000+ BP hydrogen fuel station some on here keep talking about. Instead I see a handful of fuel stations that look like an experiment versus anything close to mass roll out.

Which is why I keep on asking people to point me in the direction of my nearest hydrogen fuel station.....and it doesn't even have to be a BP one.

Yet no one here seems to be able to, my daughter learnt about the difference between fact and fiction about 12 months ago, she is 7.

I'm starting to wonder if some on here missed that bit during their education:).

Gang, why are you being so ridiculously obtuse about all this  ?

    it's quite unbelievable really for a grown-up   🤣

Give me your postcode and i might be able to send you a google map link to your nearest BP garage that will probably have a Hydrogen pump when the BP production is forthcoming

OR indeed you might be able to savour that directly from google maps .  you know, search for  " my local BP garage " style of searching ....  that will indubitably assist you in your endeavours 🤩

    Happy Hunting Gang

    Malc

I'm still struggling to find any BP hydrogen fuel stations near me, please point one out, because you clearly have all the trade secrets!

    Your forbearance is impressive.
Some children it is not possible to explain everything. Unfortunately, this is also the case with some adults. And even if the birth certificate says otherwise, there are children who never grow up.

    Peter Pan?

Don't children belive in fantasy? 1200+ hydrogen fuel stations in the UK.....now that is so good fantasy or just total delusion:).

    Gang hi,

Logistics are simply that BP has an existing estate of some 1200+ forecourts around the UK .....  and I'm thinking BP knows a little more about it's own business than your Google searching will ever reveal .........  I did say that I read all this from my usual daily perusal of the BP stockmarket stuff ...........

Maybe BP hasn't a clue as to what it's doing eh !  🤣

    Best wishes Gang

    Malc

Well Goolgling appears to the way others on here get their 'news'.

But feel free to point me to my nearest BP hydrogen fuel station :).

  18. 7 hours ago, Malc1 said:

a Conspiracy theory by BP of course .......  developing Hydrogen Power in the north of England for roll-out to it's forecourt estate in the UK of 1200+ bases

Great to hear Malc you have news that 1200+ hydrogen fuel stations are coming, please post any info of where/when these are built. Using Google doesn't work, because the answer it tells me is pretty much zero :).
