  1. The Tesla is not a comfortable car in any way. It's fast and harsh. But as a company car..costs me nothing.
  2. Ok thanks all..my company no longer offers EV's. Restructuring on going. I used to have an IS300h and it was great. Zero issues in 5 years and 60k miles. So have to get my own car now but economic outlook isn't great and don't want to commit to a long private lease. So Lexus is my choice. Tesla Model is end of lease now. Battery technology is improving all the time so will return to EV in 2 years or so. Hyundai and Kia currently have the best EV's. Toyota (Lexus) has been very late to the game. Whatecer your views about EV's, its that way forward now. I just hope Lexus survives the move to electrification. Toyota ousted it's CEO last week. He was quite anti EV. New CEO is now ex Lexus CEO, so let's see what happens. Next IS could be electric.
  3. After 18 months of the EV experience I am looking at returning to Lexus I had an IS300h for 5 years. I've looked at the ES300h but feels it's just too big for my needs. The IS I had was great but seems a bit dated now. Disappointed Lexus isn't bringing to he new model to UK. The safest option is the IS300h F Sport or higher for me. The Tesla was great but returning it as lease is over. The charging experience hasn't been great. The Lexus was much better overall in terms of experience. I don't feel like getting another EV just yet. I had the Advance model previously so F Sport is my target. Does anyone have any thoughts about the model choice ?
  4. Ok I finally made a decision. I couldnt get the price down to a acceptable level. So I have decided to give up my Lexus IS300h Advance of 5.5 years for a Tesla Model 3. The model 3 is a standard range plus - not the one I wanted but better than nothing. I will be sad to see it go as its been 100% reliable. Its very likely I will return to Lexus in the near future.
  5. Ok thanks...I've had the car from new as a company car and it's been well looked after. I will aim for £13k.
  6. ok thanks all for the replies...I will try and negotiate a better price.
  7. Hi All I've had an IS300h Advance for 5 years as a company car. I have the option to purchase it now. 42k miles, FSH. Asking price £14.5k. I was hoping to get a Tesla under the company car scheme but the list of electric cars is rubbish. So, given the CT and IS models are no longer in UK line up, is it still worth buying an IS. I've driven the car for so long now and wanted a change. I intend to keep it 2 years. Extended warranty will be £795 and the 6 year (60k) service is due in Nov. £14.5k could buy a 2 year old Honda Civic - and yes I know its not a Lexus. For me 100% reliability is key. Thoughts welcome.
  8. Agree totally. The point I was making was the UX isn't up to meeting the competition....I am hoping the next IS,300h will be EV...IS300e....I am sure they will have something up their sleeve but feel Lexus will lose a lot of sales over the next 2 years. I wish UK government would give hybrids zero BIK as they do for EV..
  9. Lexus has told me the UX300e is for Q1 2021. The IS300h and CT200h have been a success story as far as company cars are concerned. Lexus will lose a lot of customers to the EV providers. Tesla is the market leader. The main driver for companies promoting EV is they can claim 100% cost of the car back in corporation tax.
  10. Ok thanks for reply. Which EV charger did you have installed at home? Did you go for the Tesla one or the many others that seem to be availabke...e.g. zappi.
  11. Hi all, my Lexus is300h is up for renewal as a company car. I really wanted to stay with Lexus but the tax rule changes from April 2020 are compelling me to choose an EV. From April 2020 the BIK is zero. From 2021 1% and 2% the year after. I've researched this all thoroughly and apart from some inconvenience in charging the Tesla an EV seems the way forward. I don't understand the UK government's approach. Hybrid should have been zero BIK too. This is the best middle ground solution until EV takes off. If I order another Lexus, I stand to lose around 3k per year. If I choose a Tesla, then I save 3k a year. The Tesla does not feel like a quality, luxury product. It feels like an expensive car made cheaply. The is300h has been faultless in the 4 years i've had it. I just feel Lexus has missed the boat on their global strategy. Even tho the ux300e is imminent, it feels like they are late to the game. So it looks like I will move to Tesla for 3 years until Lexus releases a viable EV to challenge the Tesla model 3. Is anyone else in a similar position?
  12. Hi All I've had my IS300h for 3.5 years under a company car lease scheme. I thought I'd post a quick review of my own observations. Having had a stream of German cars for many years I changed to the Lexus IS300h advance. Driving an auto and hybrid was a major change for me but after a few months I was very happy with my choice. The car still feels fresh as it did on day one with no fade in performance or handling. In my view, the car is the intelligent mans choice for a changing landscape with anti diesel rhetoric and ULEZ about to be rolled out. I will most likely stick with the Lexus brand as build and overall quality are my main criteria. Well done Lexus for building such a great car. My next car is likely to be another IS300h or the ES300h. Nick
  13. Thank you for the advice. I think the car is worth it at £10k for a 55k mile F Sport with one owner and FLSH.
  14. CT200H F Sport - 2012 Model I am looking at buying a CT200h with service history. It has 55000 miles and is approx £10k. Is there anything I should look out for..what service items are needed at say £60k miles ?
  15. Hi there, yes that's true...but it's still over sensitive. Thanks for the advice. I really like the car and managed 50+ MPG on a 140 round trip today.
