  1. Having gone from an IS 250 to the F, I'd say about 7mpg worse, insurance would vary massively, depends on age, NCB, postcode etc, mine is £268 a year, with £500 excess, BUT I've not got any boltons insurance co offer,.....tyres n brakes are the biggies, plus the large service at 60k, which Lexus have said to be around £800, I also get a multi car discount. But WHAT a car, think most will agree, they are fantastic fun, a very enjoyable place to be
  2. I've only ever seen one on the road in the Collier Row area, it's a grey one, not seen any where i'am, I stopped at a crossing in my local high street to let an older couple cross, they stopped on the crossing, pointing n chatting about the car, then watched it pull away at the side of the road.
  3. Hold out for what u want, the colour is the main thing u see every time u get in it, u know when u smile at ur car u picked the right one, good luck to u, happy shopping 👍
  4. I assume insurance wasn't a lot more due to being 43...lol, I don't have protected no claims, legal cover etc, it's all to get additional premiums from u. Coming from a family of insurance workers (baring me) I know that whatever they can avoid paying out on they will......as for IS-F 500, I may well stand corrected, but was always led to believe when first produced, they where goin to limit the build to 500, was led to believe it was never intended as a mass production car, just to prove it could be done better than merc n BMW, some thought it was to tie in with being a 5 ltr engine, I may well stand corrected tho, as I assume there was more than 500 made 👍
  5. As far as I'm led to believe, no, it's classed as a car of the "United Kingdom & channel isles ". Insurance was another £40 to renewal from my IS 250 SE-L. I did have my concerns, I nearly bought a "Singapore " celica along time ago, this was an import, insurance was more than double, but like I say, was many many years ago. Not sure if views of imports have changed in insurance terms & views .
  6. Was a channel island reg car, doesn't fall in mainland tax bracket, there's no co2 emissions on it, found it hard to believe too, even phoned Swansea to check
  7. My car was first registered in Jersey, is a UK car, but doesn't come under mainland co2 levels, Jersey cars are taxed on width, so it taxes as pre 02 bracket, no emissions on log book or DVLA, even rang Swansea to check
  8. Hi Gents, interesting read, I've just purchased an IS-F, from Coventry Lexus, October 08, 49k with full history, Mesa Red with the sunroof option, was the colour I've always wanted too, I paid 20,500 for it, probably a little to much? they did put new discs n pads all round, I'm absolutely over the moon with it, it's my 4th IS, mine has the mark levinson unit, not sure if this was an option? my IS 250 SE-L didn't, did ring about the Cardiff one, but they where similar miles, £1500 more and mine taxes at £230 a year as a pose to £505, as I plan to keep, I opted for the 08 car
  9. Hi, this is my Mesa red one, I purchased from Coventry Lexus, a cheap weekend away to the "motofest " from my wife for my birthday, turn into an expensive one. Lol, the colour needs to be seen in the flesh, there is a sparkling snow flake effect in the finish, this is my 4 IS,......my wife ok'd the purchase, as this is my "car for life"......but, it's socks n takeaway for the next 20yrs
  10. I did as much research as possible, have only been told of there excellent reliability, hence having bought one, this is my 4th Lexus IS, and loving every minute of ownership
