  1. Thanks for the comments guys. After lots of research I have narrowed it down to a choice of 4. 1. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance (load rating 98 as opposed to factory fit 94) £100.16 2. Goodyear Efficient Grip load rating 94 £108.89 3. Michelin Cross Climate load rating 98 £121.89 4. Dunlop Sport BluResponse load rating 98 £109.56 All prices include fitting, rebalancing etc., and prices above are the best I could find (Blackcircles) I think item one above at £100.16 is the one to go for. I live in the north west of England and we don't get much snow and ice and when we do I tend to stay off the roads. There doesn't appear to be any problem fitting the load rating 98 to replace the 94 from an insurance perspective. Does anyone know any different?
  2. I need 4 new tyres for my 2007 year Lexus GS300. Currently have Dunlop SP Sport 225/50 R17 94 W. Should I buy the same again or are there better tyres available. Annual mileage 7K. Thank you.
  3. What are your reasons for you to go for the 200t (if you were to go for an NX), just wondering why you would move away from hybrid? Also, I have a 2007 GS300 and have been thinking of getting an RX Luxury/Advance 2012/2014 or a used NX 300h Luxury. Just wondering which is the best car, NX 200t or 300h? Has anyone here moved from GS300 to NX or RX. I did sit in a used RX today and it did feel extremely large, maybe too large, although I accept that we do adapt to size after a little while.........
  4. I need 4 new tyres for my late 2007 GS300. Lexus want £217.92 each. Has anyone used any of the mobile tyre suppliers/fitters? Any recommendations? I will also get a quote from the independent garage I use for servicing. The car is at Lexus today for a recall so I am not certain which tyres it has, but looking online, they are probably 225/50 R17, maybe Dunlop. Any advice appreciated re what others have. Thank you.
  5. Found the Carchem 1900:1 Luxury Shampoo on amazon at £11.99/500ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/CarChem-Car-Shampoo-1900-500ml/dp/B01B38NJYQ also on eBay and the seller says that they decant this from large drums, £18.99/1000ml http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Chem-Car-Shampoo-1900-1-High-Concentrated-Dilution-Wax-Safe-1000ml-/151516485485
  6. Oh, what have I started! Well done robski, zippyone and DanD. Not forgetting of course the wonderful work of rayaan.
  7. Thank you. I'll be having a test drive before I buy one, so will report back in due course.
  8. OK, I get it, Dodo Juice for the leather. But what do you guys recommend for, 1. Washing and waxing the paintwork. 2. Polishing the glass. 3. Cleaning the beige carpets. 4. Cleaning the alloy wheels? (How often should waxing be done) Thank you.
  9. GS300 2007 59K miles. Bought from Lexus Stockport in 2009 with 20K on the clock. Never had it serviced at Lexus due to very high costs. I have used a small local independent garage for this car and previous cars I've owned. They have the necessary diagnostic software and the cost is far lower than Lexus. (Might change my mind if I buy an RX hybrid, what do you think about using an independent for the hybrid, in or out of warranty?)
  10. So is it best to buy a 2012 plate facelift or a 2013 plate onwards when looking for a used RX450h? Also, what does NA petrol mean? Thanks.
  11. Hi I use a Nokia phone connected to Bluetooth with my existing GS300 (2007 year) with no connection problems at all. I am looking to buy an RX (2012 facelift model/2015) and also going to change my phone for an Apple iPhone. I've heard that Apple iPhones aren't always as good at connecting via Bluetooth as android phones. Would members please share their experiences of Bluetooth connection with the GS300 and the RX and tell which phones they use? Thank you. (I've also put this in the RX section)
  12. I have a GS300 (year 2007) and one of the things I really like is that when you open the doors, the internal door frames are all clean and shiny. I've presumed this is because they have excellent door seals. Disappointed to hear that the NX has a problem in that respect. I'm actually still looking for the right spec RX at the right price/condition (no rush) 2012 onwards. Can anyone tell me if the RX internal door frames stay clean? Thanks.
  13. rayaans, you mentioned budget tyres earlier. Should the RX450H have Dunlop SP Sports? I see one for sale with N Fera Rui tyres on it, is that what you call budget. Also how many miles do you get out of a set of tyres on your car? I'm not a racer, not one for fast away at the lights or cornering fast.
  14. I agree about the beige carpets, mine are marked but I've got black mats which is ideal. We should start a petition to get the combo you described, would be perfect, BTW, I don't like the ivory seats in the NX as it is only the seat cushion and face of the seatback that is ivory, the rest is black and it does not look as good as all-over beige/ivory (imho). I also agree about the facelift, a big improvement.
  15. RXJasonRX Yes I think you are right. There is a Sept 2009 one for sale on the Lexus site, so probably marketed originally as year 2010 model. There's also a 2010 one.
  16. I wouldn't mind waiting for a 2015 car if they are going to take a huge hit, not sure how long it would take to get down to say £30K? I think I'd be looking for a Luxury, beige interior a must, paint Mercury Grey, Silver, Burgundy or Mesa Red. I had noticed the blue one that's just arrived at Bolton even though there are no photos up yet, thought I might go and see it and get a test drive as I've not driven an RX yet. My local dealer hasn't got anything with beige and I would want to get a proper feel on a test drive with the beige. I'd noticed the back seat ripples on the Derby one you mentioned, but thought that was probably done by child seats but I agree it's best to get one where the leather is tight and smooth. It's a pity that the leather on the driver's seat eventually becomes floppy, but there you go!
  17. Hi Rayaan, thanks for the response, yes I meant to say 2013/2014 in my price range. Also I would expect to be able to negotiate some discount from the asking prices of used as in my experience they are loaded somewhat to allow them to give a larger PX figure. I like the beige/Ivory interior of one of your suggestions, I have that now in the GS. Do you know anything about the problems I've read about with the small capacity battery on the RX400h? has that be rectified on the 450h? I'm talking about the small battery used to unlock the car a start the car not the hybrid battery. Have read that leaving the doors or the hatch open for 30 minutes or so flattens the battery, also leaving the car unused for 2/3 weeks has the same effect. Last but not least are you saying it might be better to wait a few months until the new RX has been out a while as used ones of the current model will reduce in price as more come onto the market? I very much appreciate your input. Thank you
  18. Hi Everyone This is my 1st post, so hope I'm doing this in the right place. I own a GS300, bought in 2009 when 2 years old and 20K on clock, now has 56K on clock. I am very happy with the car, no problems, serviced by local independent. However, I quite fancy the higher seating position of an SUV so had a test drive in an NX300H last week which I enjoyed but I don't want to pay the price of a new one and there are very few used ones about and still pricey. Even though I enjoyed the NX, when my wife and I got back into the GS, we both felt that there was a lot more space in the front cabin than in the NX, so now thinking about a used RX450H, miles 25K/30K, prices seem to be about £25K/£30K for years 2014/2015 depending on spec (don't want the Sport). I'd like to know what experiences forum members have had with the RX450H, how many miles their cars have done and if they would buy another one. Also what do you think of Lexus service centres in relation to the RX450H or do you go independent? The other way to go would be to buy a NEW Hyundai Tucson or Nissan Qashqai which I know is lower spec but at least would be new and for less money. All comments and advice very welcome. Thank you.
