  1. Hi All forgot to update above as I promised. I have used a 128 GB memory stick now and it also works fine. I have not bothered to go any higher as that takes a lot of music
  2. Hi All Just in case anyone else has this problem Yesterday I was in a car park with engine/everything off. When I started engine all lights came on as normal but also a warning light ' Steering Lock On'. and as stated steering wheel was locked and engine would not start. Nothing seemed to clear it so I thought I would exit vehicle and lock/unlock it. Started it again.-- no broblems -- warning light disappeared.
  3. I have tried a number of modes since buying my 450h. In ECO mode ( sluggish/boring) I was getting 43MPG Motorway/34 MPG Urban. In normal mode 37MPG Motorway/33 MPG Urban. Not bad for the size/weight of car and definitely more enjoyable to drive in Normal Mode. As commented earlier in ECO mode you only have to lift of the accelerator a little for EV to kick in
  4. Hi JeffL I have a RX450h. I noticed that after cleaning within a couple of days the two rear door become quite dirty at the bottoms. In my mind its a design fault because when closed the bottoms of the rear doors form the surface of the wheel arch and so collect any dirt thrown up by the rear tyres.
  5. Hi Just in case this helps anyone I was faced with the audio problem when I first got my RX450. I tried an MP3 player with no success. I then thought why not try a USB drive so I bought an 8 GB USB drive and tried that. Played first time/showed all the tracks/Titles/Artists and worked from the steering wheel. I then thought what is the maximum capacity I could use. I went from a 32GB with no problems and I am now using a 128 GB USB Drive. I haven't gone bigger at this stage as the 256 GB are still pricey and really you can get a lot of music on 128 GB. So all in all this is a very cheap option and works. Hope this helps someone
  6. Hi Goose I saw those earlier but was not too sure if they would fit. Have now ordered them. Thanks
  7. Hi The USB/AUX ports are found if you lift up the central arm rest. Underneath the sliding tray (best removed to see them) you will find both ports at the front near the bottom. The next major service is at 60k miles which is nearly £800 so a service plan to my mind makes sense. I bought my 450h in February and decided to go with the Service Plan with Lexus including the Major 60K service in the deal and the next 3 services ( 1 major/2 intermediate) for £895. To my mind that was a good deal and you are getting the reassurance of genuine Lexus parts/labour/repairs. Also you get the Lexus recovery service free for the first year. Yes the ECO does kill the performance of the 450h. Try it on normal and you will soon find the difference. Prepare yourself for it though. Hope you find the right car
  8. Hi Goose May I ask where you sourced your Lexus logo valve caps from? I have been trying to get a replacement for a missing one with no success since I bought the car
  9. I asked this recently from Lexus MK and you don't get extra discount
  10. Well did a second trip to Bexhill on Sea from Oxford 128 miles each way starting with a full tank of petrol. On the first leg MPG showed 44.4. On the return hit a lot of traffic in London/M25 which didnt help so ended up at home with an overall reading of 43.7. I have since used it for short urban daily 9 miles journies and it is now down to 40.3 and slowly going down. Still very good though with the tank showing just above 25%
  11. Hi All Recently aquired my 450h 2011 and it is mainly used for short ( 9 mile or so) urban journies. The MPG when I got it was an average of 24.6 MPG on 29/2/16. Since then the average has gone up to 30.3 MPG so I am really pleased with that. Yesterday I did a 256 mile round trip from Oxford to Bexhill on Sea with a full tank of fuel/ 2 adults / 2 dogs.I really tested efficient driving and by the time I was back in Oxford the MPG had gone up from 30.3 MPG to 40.4 MPG. I kept the speed to between 50-65 MPH on the motorway wherever possible which was alien to me but I wanted to see what difference it made. To my mind that is a good MPG for a car the size/weight of the 450h. The next longish journey I am going to see what it does with normal driving
  12. Hi All I have managed to answer one of my above questions should it prove useful to other members. Did not solve the MP3 player but found that I could use a USB memory stick in the USB Port. Everything worked well and you can use the dashboard/steering wheel buttons to go through the records. I have used a 8 GB USB as some people say that is the maximum. I have ordered a 32GB USB stick to try that. I will let you know if that works. Tom
  13. I have just bought a 2011 Lexus RX450h Premium. Still finding my way around but have met my first problem with operating a Creative Zen MP3 player through the USB port. I can't seem to get it to work. Is there a way to do this that anyone knows off or will it only work with an IPod? Another way I thought of is using the bluetooth connection on my mobile phone to play its music. Would that work and what would the quality be like? Great forum group and pleased to be a member hopefully for many years as I am very pleased with the Lexus
