  1. Haha! Yea, it's not the most active of forums compared to some! Cute dog by the way!
  2. My bluetooth occasionally won't connect but a reset of the bluetooth on my phone always sorts it out. Never experienced it dropping though. I have an iPhone 6S. if it's saying it's connected on your phone, I'd definitely try a different phone to see if you still get the same problems as it sounds like an issue with the bluetooth on the car to me.
  3. Depends on the cost premium of the fuel I guess. it's 5p more a litre here, which equates to about £3 a tank and I'm currently getting better MPG and likely to get nearly 40-50 miles more from the current tank, so that would make it worth the extra cost. But only time will tell. I'm going to try it for 2 or 3 tanks before making a decision about which to use on a permanent basis.
  4. Good to know. My Mondeo chewed through tyres - replaced the fronts every 15k or so!! at £150 a corner for middle of the road tyres, it got very expensive!!!
  5. This is good to know as I'm with Elephant, which is the same company as Admiral effectively, so pleased to hear that I don't need to shell out for Lexus' insurance to ensure I get my car repaired by Lexus directly, if it ever came to it.
  6. On my latest tank, according to the onboard computer, we're up at 40mpg (fluctuates between 40.1 and 40.7 depending on driving conditions), which I really cannot complain about. Mostly in Eco mode, as I'm in no rush to get anywhere - but had it in Sport and Normal when the situation has called for it. I'm going to stick in an extra 14 litres tonight to simulate the tank size of my Mondeo to get a closer comparison as to how long a tank will last (not 100% accurate, I appreciate; averaged a fill up every two weeks in the Ford unless we had any planned long trips)...so we won't be far away - which for a car which weighs nearly 500kg more than the Mondeo, is perfectly acceptable. :)
  7. If I can get anywhere near those numbers once we've found the knack of driving an auto/hybrid more efficiently, I'll be super happy! 400 miles a tank equates to around 510 in my old car, so the difference is negligible and the pay off is the fact it's a much nicer/newer/safer car...so no complaints there. are those numbers driving in Normal mode for the most part?
  8. She has a heavy right foot, so I suspect she was! Good to know re: the ECO mode. It's certainly ridiculously unresponsive! Could be a lot worse from some of the things I've read on here, so not too worried (yet). Also done some more calcs on what we used to get in the Mondeo - the lifetime average (according to the car) was 45.0mpg - that would mean we'd be getting around 700 miles out of a tank, which I don't think we EVER did in over 5 years...more realistic (optimistic) figures are 600miles a tank, which would equate to roughly 38.5mpg actual...so I'm feeling a bit better about the whole thing. Was concerned our fuel bills would jump up massively, but I think we'll only be spending a bit extra each month...and we get to drive round in luxury; everyone's a winner.
  9. Wife took the car on it's first proper run up north this weekend (300+ mile round trip) and the MPG reality check has hit us...the range when she left was 550 miles - when she got back, it was less than 100...so we got 400 miles out of a tank...which equates to 35ish mpg. She tells me she "never drove quicker than 80mph" and was in ECO the whole time...she did have a lot of traffic to contend with on the motorway though, which won't have helped. Not great, but not completely terrible.... and some quick comparison maths with the Mondeo, in which we would average about 550 miles a tank (70 litres) suggests that if the tank was the same size as the Mondeo, we'd only be about 40-50 miles worse than it...so I'm not too upset! I suspect we can creep it up to around 40mpg after we've put a few more miles in it.
  10. Lexus quoted me £1100 for a policy when I called up for my 3 day drive-away insurance. I'm currently paying just over £300 with Elephant (with an accident as well - although I have protected no claims) for my 300h - my policy expires in Sept and I had to pay £17 to change from my Mondeo to my NX - that includes an £18.50 admin fee...so my premium is actually less, somehow! Will be interesting to see what my renewal will be. I've been with Elephant for the last 9 or 10 years - they always offer the cheapest rate and I've never had a problem with them.
  11. I've requested it, but my Dad (who works at the dealership) took it in on my behalf to save me wasting time - so it's in his ever capable hands!
  12. Already sorted/moved! :D It's going in tomorrow to be sorted, so not too much drama - just a faff more than anything else.
  13. Well....I spoke to soon! First issue with the Nav system - it's not picking up a GPS signal at all! Exhausted the user manual(s) and can't see what on earth would cause this - and google not turning up much om the way of answers!
  14. That's good to know. I noticed that the volume needed to go up with the bluetooth'd music (for whatever reason) - but was worried that when I switched it back to radio (for the wife), it would be at ear deafening volumes. My useage has been limited so far, so I'll no doubt get infuriated with the lack of intuitiveness as time goes by, but so far it's no worse than any others I've ever used. I feel like just going to sit in it for half an hour instead of actually doing some work.
  15. Haha! I can't complain too much. I didn't order one with the convenience pack, and got a handsome discount off the car in the first place.
  16. I do, much to the wife's despair! I did get a bit excited when I was signing the various forms yesterday as it said "Model: NX 300h Luxury (Nav) (Convenience Pack)" - thinking they've somehow sent the wrong one and we'd have a power tailgate, but no such luck.
  17. Even if it's a peasants manual open/close tailgate? I'll have a gander in the manual! Cheers.
  18. The Rav4 Diesel sounds a lot like a tractor...I've never known Diesel engine noise like it to be honest! put us right off!
  19. Took delivery of my NX yesterday afternoon! First impressions are nothing but positive. The rubber boot liner they threw in was a nice touch (especially with the dog!)...Only done a couple of short trips so far, but it's as comfortable as I remember from the test drive. The colour is absolutely stunning, glad the wife trumped me and chose white over black. I've yet to see another white one in the flesh too, which is nice. Reading through the manual, it would be nice to have some of the features the Premier comes with, but all around we have everything we will need/want. We even have the pre-crash warning thing, which I didn't think we would have. The infotainment system is OK - was expecting the worst after some of the things that have been said on here, but it's absolutely fine for my needs. Plays audio via bluetooth from my phone (big thing for me), phones were paired very easily and the DAB stations were already pre-programmed. The NAV seems ok and no less fiddly than what I've experienced with BMW and Merc's systems. If I have one "complaint", it would be that the tailgate doesn't lift as high as I'm used to, so I've hit my head on it twice. No clue on the fuel economy as of yet, obviously, but it had a full tank of fuel and 13 miles on the clock, with a range of 535 miles when we got it - If we get anywhere near this or even as low as 450 miles from a tank, I'll be pretty happy. We averaged about 600 miles in our last car (MKIV Mondeo 2.0 diesel), which is a 70 litre tank. I believe the NX is a 50 litre tank, so 450 miles would be perfectly acceptable.
  20. We looked at a Rav4 before we ultimately decided on the NX...It if wasn't so ugly both inside and out, we would have probably gone for it!
  21. Did I? Apologies if so! Thanks for the clarification
  22. I wasn't sure about White as I know it's the current fad! We had a choice of White or black if we wanted the car now with the current promotion they were running with deposit contributions etc...plus it was timely as our car will shortly be giving up the ghost and is due a service, MOT and new tyres by the end of august... but having seen your white one (and a few other pics), the white looks chuffing marvellous so I'm glad we went for it. there's a couple of things that I wish the luxury had that the F-Sport/Premier has (electric steering wheel rake adjustment and dipped wing mirror when reversing being the main two), but they are more "wants" than "needs" and the spec for the Luxury is more than ample; though having read some of the posts about the Navigation, I'm not so excited about the infotainment system now )! They were even kind enough to throw in the rubber boot liner as part of the delivery which will be useful with a spaniel that loves water/mud! (although I'm pretty sure we've just absorbed the cost rather than it being a freebie!)
  23. Lets try this again...after my original post last week was mysteriously deleted?! Currently waiting (im)patiently for the delivery of my new Sonic White Luxury - due to pick it up on the 23rd June. After years of loving my Dad's last 3 Lexus' (IS250, GS300h and GS450h)...he started working for them and persuaded me and the wife to buy a brand spanking NX over others in the category we were looking at. the smaller space, compared to our MK4 Mondeo will take some getting used to, but there's only two of us and the dog, so shouldn't need too much space!! Hoping we can achieve at least 35mpg once it's run in, so that my wallet won't take too much of a hit compared to the relatively frugal Mondeo which has given me 45mpg over the life of the car (last 6 years). Pics will follow once we've taken delivery. Hope the wife lets me drive it :(
