  1. Thanks, you've encouraged me to give it a quick google http://www.carpages.co.uk/lexus/lexus-rx-ice-27-02-08.asp Apparently these were the standard items fitted to SE-L versions of the 350 and 400h from about Feb 2008. They were also a £2,200 option on other models in the range. Either way, they're worth looking for as the quality is great.
  2. Hi DanD, The Lexus entertainment in my car has a DVD player in each screen along with an aux in and an SD port (in each one). I'm pretty sure it's factory standard although I don't know if it was an extra option. You can watch a separate film on each one or pipe the same film from either one to the other. The headphones have a switch to decide which audio to listen to, left or right screen. Hope this helps,
  3. Aah, take a look at the back of your drivers seat, there should be a flap that you can pull down. Give it a good pull.
  4. These are the screens I have in mine, are yours different? I presumed they would only have one option for rear entertainment in a model year?
  5. I've had mine for 8 months, bought with 67k and going in for another service next week at 77k. It's an 08 SE-L and despite it's fuel economy - I'm getting about 27mpg at the moment - it is the best car I've ever owned. It had a full Lexus history so I'm keeping that up (£31 a month for the service plan) and other than a sensor that popped (which the dealer I bought it from replaced) it's had nothing wrong with it at all. I can't think of an option I'd like that it doesn't have (other than maybe Apple CarPlay). I'd definitely recommend one.
  6. Pulling a small caravan for the first time gave me quite a shock when I got home
  7. Thanks, that confirms what I'd thought. As for towing weights, the handbook weights differ from the V5C - presumably the lower figure on the V5 is the one to use for any calculations? (Mass in service 2115lg as opposed to 2250kg in the handbook).
  8. Afternoon all, I have just purchased an old caravan, it's very light at 760kg so I'm pretty happy that my 08 RX400h SE-L will be fine towing it (brought it home about 30 miles and it was like it wasn't even there). My query is in regards to the 'Towing Pack' that I've read about on the internet. Apparently it has a grille with holes in the Lexus badge for better cooling, a transmission cooler...maybe some other stuff! My car does have the holes in the badge - do they all in the UK or does my car have this 'Towing Pack' fitted? I'd appreciate any information anyone has about any of this! Thanks,
  9. MOT history is available from here - http://regisearch.co.uk/registration_search.php?registration=CK04LTE&make=LEXUS Hope this helps,
  10. Yep, It's never taken me so long to work out everything on a car, normally I'm done after sitting in it for an hour. Still haven't figured out some stuff on this one! Thanks for the replies.
  11. Thanks, in fact, the car wouldn't start yesterday so I phoned the garage I bought it from and they sent out a mechanic straight away, he got it started and I drove it up the their shop. They tested the 12V battery and it was completely finished. Probably from when the car had been say on the lot although he did say it looked like the original (on a 2008 car!). They replaced it with a brand new Bosch item so I'm totally happy with the service I've received and no more 12V worries for a few years hopefully!
  12. Funny you should ask that. No, I hadn't even noticed the Load button hah! Just loaded up a CD and a DVD and both work perfectly. Although, I'm not sure when I'll ever watch a DVD in the car it's still a fancy bit of technology. Thanks for your reply, I feel like a right dope!
  13. Hi all, i have the iPod connection in the glove box in my 2008 rx400h with mark levinson. That works fine but I can't seem to get the cd/DVDs to accept a disc. Am I missing something aimple to switch between the two? thanks in advance dan
  14. Yep, the inverter recall was carried out in 2014, it's listed on the service. I have no idea what that is but I'm glad it's been done! Thanks :)
  15. Afternoon all, I've recently (yesterday!) bought a 2008 RX400h SE-L so hopefully I'll be around for a considerable amount of time. I think I got a decent deal, I ended up paying 10750 for the car, 66k miles, full Lexus history, a few options that weren't advertised were even on the car. It came with the towing pack, roof bars, boot liner etc and the posh rear dvd equipment that the kids adore. I've spent the day cleaning and treating the leather and giving it a good look over. A few marks which are to be expected on a car of this age but overall, I love it. Fantastic purchase. I'm considering both the Lexus service plan and the extended warranty - if anyone has any information on either of these before I get a change to pop over to the dealer it would be appreciated. Hopefully, I can contribute something in the future! Cheers
  16. Well, I went to view the car...and bought it! I had a few nice surprises once I got it home. It came with Lexus roof bars, the towing package including detachable tow bar, boot liner and the iPod adaptor in the glove box, none of which it was advertised with. Parking sensors as well although I'm not sure they're necessary with the camera. Full Lexus service history. I'm made up with it so far! When the 6 month warranty from the dealer runs out I think I'll invest in the Lexus warranty for peace of mind. Talking of the camera, how complicated is the manual for it! I've read it three times and I've still no idea how all the lines work :S Anyway, here she is!
  17. You might like http://regisearch.co.uk/ I believe a guy on Pistonheads created it. You can get the full tax, mot status and mot history in one place. Really useful!
  18. Thanks Colin, I'm going to look at the car tomorrow evening so I guess I'll find out for myself :). I'm really hoping it's huge as I've set my heart on the car now so I'll be disappointed if it's a no go. Out of interest, the car is a 400H SE-L 2008 with 66500 on. Last services at 60000 with a FSH. It has the media pack in the back as well. Is £11k a fair price for this car?
  19. Thanks, do the rear seats slide forward/backwards? The pdf I've attached to this post states cargo capacity of 1084 litres with the seats up which would be more than double the c-class, hence my confusion! I have considered a Disco but the reliability aspect worries me. Presumably the Lexus is much better in this regard. Thanks again for your reply. Hybrids_Page_10.pdf
  20. Good afternoon all, I'm seriously considering purchasing a 2008 Lexus RX400h to replace my 2008 C-Class estate. The primary reason for the change is I'm in dire need of more boot space for camping trips with my better half and two daughters. I was hoping someone could help with how the boot size of the RX would stack up against my c-class. Will there be a good difference? I'm asking as I can't get to view the car until the weekend and there's conflicting capacities all over the net ranging from 400litres to 1000! At the moment I'm struggling with the C-Class and a 300l roof box :) Anyway, I'd appreciate any advice! Thank you very much in advance. Dan
