  1. So, the test drive. Not a bad car, but not a good £68K EV. Built quality looked nice, no odd noises, no squicking or rattling, looked solid. A much nicer place to be in than in a tesla, same league though as the iX1 Acceleration was OK, much better than the Leaf's , not as impressive as Tesla's but it is definitely plenty enough. The HUD is confusing but hey, something to get used to I am sure. Battery was more or less as expected, while in the city or under 50 MPH it looked as it would achieve 200 miles. Sadly at 70 MPH looked that it wouldn't last more than 150. The final blow was when the Lexus lady - very good service by the way, no complaint there - turned on the heating and Boom, 40 miles down. So in reality it is a city car. A big and expensive albeit pleasant to be in, city car. They need to do a really really good deal to make me buy it, the missus thought that it was on par with the Leaf from her point of view on the back seat - and the Premium Plus does not even have back heated seats.
  2. Exactly. You want me to pay £20K more than bZ4X ? OK, give me reasons.
  3. I am still going ahead with the test drive. I promised I will give it a fair chance before I withdraw - if I withdraw - my £2000 deposit. If I am positively impressed and the price is right I may still go ahead The interior was the one at Premier Plus The blander is that I was originally told that I will test drive the vehicle before it starts production, and will be able to change colour or specification etc. The discussion was something like " yeah, choose a colour now, you will be able to change it later; sure, go for the Premium plus now to secure a slot and if you like the Takumi interior better after your test drive we can always upgrade" Few days ago I got an email that the car is ready and on its way to the dealreship. I am now unable to make any changes and obviously I haven't driven the car yet.
  4. Yeap, that's what dealer told me today, fingers crossed he knows what he is talking about. We'll see. He knows he made a blunder with my order, (he was a bit apologetic) and that I expect a significant discount if I am to keep the vehicle
  5. I do not believe that many owners will keep it past the 3 years PCP period , considering that in 3 years Toyota/Lexus should have their advertised new battery technology. There is no way that a 3 years old 30.000 miles RZ will cost £32K in 2026 That 10 years battery warranty is a completely moot point
  6. He said from 245 to 285 and believed that range is realistic
  7. Saw it in flesh for the first time and I have to say that I am unimpressed. The quality of materials - at least their feel - is definitely lower than the one in my RX. OK, the bar is set high, but the two cars cost roughly the same. He said that a software update brings the range up to 285 miles, not sure what to make of this/believe it or not. If true it is a massive gain. Waiting for the test drive to make up my mind.
  8. Thanks for that, I have seen videos suggesting like 130 miles on cold weather so that's a problem. I can live with 200 miles, but not with 130 on cold weather ( the missus has severe range anxiety, she is almost ready to call AA any time leaf goes under 20% ) Also, Tesla dual motor now costs 47K, with 0%APR, zero deposit, so the price difference is just huge. But Musk is an idiot so we will see.
  9. Damn, I was about to buy a Tesla and then saw Musk asking Zuckerberg in a serious note on twitter for a " ***** length challenge " or something like that. Not sure I can trust him with my money... Let's see how that RZ test drive will go, should do it in the next few days
  10. well, I have prepaid £2000 that I was told I can claim back if I do not like the car this is the advert and they have a Takumi as well https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202307119530131
  11. Lexus Bolton is already selling the car on Autotrader significantly cheaper than my "guaranteed" price
  12. So same battery, same range despite this being a smaller car?
  13. Speaking of discounts, there is a whooping £10500 discount on a brand new RX500h at Brimingham as we speak https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202303275671272

  17. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202306168601326 Another used takumi for sale Vehicle registered: 20/04/2023 Edit and another one https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202306218764240 Vehicle registered: 28/04/2023 Edit And another one https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202306188650006 Vehicle registered: 28/04/2023
  18. First used Takumi 23 plate already on Autotrader https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202306018012096 it is interestingly advertised as "TAKUMI|PAN ROOF|240+ RNAGE" I guess RNAGE is RANGE, so they advertise it as 240+miles of range. No wonder the buyer returned it - doesn't look like a demonstrator, too soon to put it on the used market.
  19. That's great news. Which Lexus branch offered it and can we ask our local branch for this as well? Also any newfound rattling after the plate attachment? Many thanks
  20. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/06/07/new-york-sues-hyundai-and-kia-because-cars-easy-to-steal/ That's interesting. Lexus, do you hear?
  21. Is that 2.5 miles / Kwh accurate? that's 2.5 *64 = 160 miles
  22. May I please suggest documenting percentage battery at the beginning and at the end of your trip? I think that's a more realistic calculation sometimes
  23. Can you please be a bit more specific? Thanks
