  1. Premier trim if you can stretch to it will give you the whole experience including the adjustable (non air) suspension which will give you the same ride as an F sport plus a lot more kit. The standard HUD is great.

Important Buy a car registered before April  2017 and it will be £115 a year rather than £400+ Road Tax

I love the fuel consumption = average nearly 37mpg over 7,000 miles since November.

If it has diamond cut wheels check the centres for signs of corrosion and push for a proper refurbishment or replacement.

There has been a recall for fuel pump replacement, check if it needs to be done.

My January 17 car had a water pump at 24000 miles before I bought it. That cost over £1000, so make sure you buy a Lexus Approved car with full warranty.

I have cream leather with brown interior and sapele wood. I sought out this combo because I didn't want black

Feel free to ask me more questions.

    Good hunting

I will be arranging to take my RX for service there later that month or early next month but it will be their 'economy' service, pretty much the same as standard although due to small mileage I do, exacerbated by non use for four months, it has only just done over 40K but would be 50K service. It's not my nearest Lexus Dealer but the car was purchased from them originally and subsequently by me and all services from new were done by them.  It also means that if they will loan me a car again, I can pop over to see my sister and her husband in Stroud for much of the day.

I was impressed today with Mike Harris as always, but the guy who dealt with me  when collecting the car was also extremely helpful. Transpired he is normally the group after sales customer service person, but is currently based in Cheltenham as he only lives in Worcester. Felt very much a valued customer today.

  3. Just had my car serviced at Listers, Cheltenham today.

Unusually for me the service was done on time basis due to lockdown rather than mileage.

If anything service there better than usual. Car came back nicely washed with tyres dressed.

Service should have been £520 plus £37 for wiper blade replacement on the front.

With owners club discount of 15% the total bill was £466.38p so I'm very happy.

  4. I had to get a windscreen replaced in a brand new CT loan car a couple of years ago(less than 200 miles on it) The guy who fitted it(recommended by Lexus Cheltenham) told me that if the camera's are carefully removed and reinstalled there should be no issues with Calibration. Certainly he made a wonderful job of the fitting and everything worked perfectly.

Have you considered a VW GTI? They have Android Auto, are sporty but not really considered "luxurious" and would fit in your price range (used slightly). They are also decently sporty and the DSG makes it a really fun (and somewhat practical) drive.

Also, consider the new Accord Sport? This is similar in size to the Lexus. They are also available with Android Auto, would likely fit a taller person better, and are decently sport. Hell, they are even offered with a 6 speed manual if that's your thing (I'm assuming you wanted an auto, just throwing it out there). You can get them slightly used for well below your budget and they will last you a long time.

My understanding is that the DSG gearbox in the VW is very unreliable and expensive when it fails. Strangely I read an article about it this week.

I purchased my CT in 2012. It currently  has only  98,000 miles. I just experienced the same issue and brought it in to the dealer to see what was happening. Of course it came back needing new pistons and rings with a total cost of $5,900. I obviously am very upset. I took good care of the vehicle and serviced it according to the manufacturers guidelines. I experienced the worst possible customer service you could imagine. I was basically dismissed and told that I didn't purchase the extended warranty therefore there was nothing they could do. Is this common? How could I ever trust this brand again? Any thoughts?

Try talking to Lexus Customer Services.

Often they will make a goodwill gesture outside of any Warranty.

My Last 4 year old RX450h had wheel corrosion not covered by extended warranty and Lexus Customer Relations paid for them to be refurbished.

Not a winter tyre but an all rounder, the Michelin Cross Climate tyres are meant to be a good all weather tyre: https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Michelin/CrossClimate-SUV.htm

In comparative tyre reviews, the Michelins are either at the first or second in their group

They don't do the Cross-Climates in the size to fit gen 4 RX450h 😭😭😭😭

  8. I allegedly retired at the Old age of 49 years and 10 months since when I have done all sorts of weird and wonderful jobs, a while in an opticians working for my daughter, mystery shopping (everything from banks to motorway services). Counting adverts on supermarket trolleys, photographing advertising hoardings to quality control placement. For the last 13 years I have worked part-time for a private company doing house conveyancing searches at councils.

It is surprising what opportunities are out in the world for us oldies

  9. I have the Lexus liner that came with the car which is good. On my last RX450h and previous GS I bought cheap fitted ones which were brilliant from the internet. I think I posted details on here at the time. The best part of them was there was a non slip area in the middle which effectively stopped cargo from moving.

Oops, just tried that number to see what profess was and Andrew answered the phone ( don’t like annoying someone I don’t know on a Sunday). Anyway what I need next is the reg of a 2016/17 rx so he can check it out but he’s fairly sure it can be done successfully. Can I take it that all the engines in a rx from 2016 on are all the same , should hopefully be only a matter of finding a registration of one for sale on the Internet

I don't understand why you would want to convert one of these complex cars to LPG. Mine is averaging nearly 37mpg at the moment which is about 4mpg less than my wife's Fiat 500.

I just wouldn't want to be in an accident with all that high voltage electricity LPG and petrol together.

  11. Just blown £929 into my wife's 2015 fiat 500 with 17000 miles. MOT, major service with cambelt change (required after 4years).

Oh there was an advisory on front tyres so I decided to fit Michelin Cross Climates all round which accounted for £360.

My last 2015 RX450h cost £695 for the big 60000 service.

Funny how all cars these days seem to cost similar amounts to maintain
