I think I’ve seen Cov Lexus mention a few times on here...just wondering who’s the guy to speak to about F stuff there?!
Ta.

Do you know if you can keep extending warranty, so if you've got a warranty on a 2008 ISF that runs out 2019 can you buy an additional 2 years as it's about to expire...does that make sense?!?!
Did anyone know the answer to this? Can you keep extending the warranty even though the car would be over 10 years?

Cheers all. Now I know!

Very boring question but does the ISF have the isofix kids seat fitting things in the back?
I’m sure I’ve looked at the spec online and it has be listed as ‘standard’ but just thought I’d check!

good to see an ex integra type r owners here, was it a DC5 you owned?
DC2 mate, JDM. Here it is (if this works) https://farm4.staticflick
Amazing car. The gear change was something else (as I’m sure you know). I do really like the DC5 too.

I understand your pain Rhys ( @BUG4LIFE ).
There was no way I would advertise a car like the F on PH or AT. I could have got lucky and had a decent person buy the car, but there's all the hassle of tyre kicking, test drives, haggling and money exchange.
I would have sold to someone on here, but I'm not a Gold member, so even mentioning the car was up for sale would have been a NO NO.
It is a shame. The car is in better condition that it ever was. Here are some details for anyone who visits Lexus Stoke
Year: 2009
Garage queen - used only at weekends (preferably in the dry)
Driven like Miss Daisy (most of the time)
Warranty: June 2019
Servicing: Full Lexus - last done June 2017
MOT: June 2017
Front tyres: Last month
Rear tyres: June 2017
Steering rack: There's a design fault with the ISF steering rack - my whole rack was repaired under warranty (£3.5k)
Cat back Infiniti exhaust (I've given the original boxes to Lexus Stoke)
Body work unmarked
All wheels refurbished by Lexus Bristol back in the Summer
Airbag recall - DONE
No problem mate. I didn’t realise there was ‘rules’ like that on here...which seems a pity as I’m a serious buyer and want to be part of this owners club. I don’t know if a PM would of been against the rules?!
I think when people call about a car you’ve got for sale you can pick out serious buyers, but I’ve never sold a car privately as expensive or high performance as an ISF so I imagine there is a certain amount of worry. The last car I sold was an Integra Type-R, I’m sure you can imagine the kind of people they could attract! A young lad from Scotland caught a plane to come see it so I knew he wasn’t going home without it (he was bugging me for months on a Honda forum to sell).
I’ll keep my eye on it and maybe put in a cheeky offer (I mean how many people are looking to buy such a car coming up to Xmas)!!

Gutted, a 2009 with 57k miles I’m sure would of been in my price range on the private marketing...now the dealer has added their chunk on it, it isn’t ;(

Strong money for a 2010 no, even at a dealer?
I do like them in white though.

It's up to 10 years at the time you take out the warranty. You can take a 2 year warranty out the day before it's 10 years old. So many will be 12 years old before the warranty expires.

I hope more do pop up for sale in the new year!

@Nutey Duncan welcome to the forum, 3 have come on the market since Monday but I see you want a face lift car, you need IMO to get yourself a test drive in one any one if you can as ride feel between them is marginal if anything on our 'great surfaced roads ' and is not as bad as journalists have made out.
As regards the wheels they are corner specific so they need to look like this which ever wheel it is........
Sorry about the generic pic but it shows it well, as regards LSD unless you are going to track it it pretty pointless on the road, the conectivity in the later ones is better though.
Good luck with the search any more questions just fire away 👍
Big Rat
Sorry to be stupid but what is it about the wheel that shows it's correct???

I was going to say that looking at the photographs they were taken last winter.
I noticed this one when I started 'researching' the ISF. I think it way near £24k then?

Yes this number of owner issue I would not want to do someone a disservice who is trying to sell a car, but if you change your number plate or address whatever I see that some car information sites count this as ‘number of owners’, thereby giving a false number.
Has anyone else been subjected to this ?
Big Rat
I might just drop the seller a message and ask how many owners it's had, in case the situation is as you mention.

@BUG4LIFE tell us what the exact spec of car you are looking for, year, mileage, number of owners and ball park price as you seem really keen to find an ISF, if we see something or hear of one we can give you the heads up.
Might make the process easier for you.
Obviously price is an important factor so I'll be looking at cars under £20k.
Year, any. Though my budget limits me to the earlier ones (which is fine).
Mileage, I'd like under 60k though service history and finding a cared for example is more important.
Service history would have to be pretty much perfect, though I don't mind some 'specialist' servicing as long as I still have the option of buying the Lexus warranty I hear so much about on here.
Number of owners. Again, finding a car that's obviously been looked after is top of the list but thinking into the future, if I bought a car making me the 7th owner, how much more of a problem am I giving myself selling it (when GSF's become more affordable)?! So ideally I'm thinking 4 previous.
Colour, any, though I'd prefer the black interior as I'm not sure I could cope with worrying about people marking the light leather seats :)
I am serious about buying one but I have time on my side, so no probs waiting for the right one to come along.
-
Awesome, where else can you come to to find out so much about a car :)
Pity it has had quite a few owners. Not that that makes it a bad car but my preference would be to buy something that hasn't changed hands every year or so!
-
Does look a nice one. Wish the owner had gone into a bit more detail with the info though. I think with a car like this you should really go to town with your ad as it's likely to appeal to a 'car enthusiast'. He obviously likes Lexus as he wants to replace with a GSF.
I wonder how many owners it's had (the service history has quite a few different dealer stamps)? I wonder how long 'some time' is?
Has the big service been done (that I've seen mentioned on here should be carried out at 6 years, even with low miles)?
Wonder why it's been used so little since 2011?
Looks very nice though.

@BUG4LIFE Rhys keep plugging away at the search it will be worth it in the long run, not talked to anyone who has or had one who regrets it. 👍

I've got plenty of time to find the right one. I got pretty close to buying what could of been the perfect car this week but it unfortunately didn't happen in the end ;(

Hope you enjoy the GSF. I've definitely got one on the maybe list for the future. Got to concentrate on buying and owning an ISF first!

If people want to be mad at me that's fine, everyone makes decisions for their own reasons, its their business and no one else has a right to know.
Lexus Cheltenham didn't take the pi$$ with the PX figure, far from it.
I said would, as in not! I wasn't being serious buddy :)

@BUG4LIFE Given em a ring Rhys and sound them out they may want to move it quickly, Max Wright the sales guy there not a million miles away from you.
Big Rat
It is a big chuck above what I'd want to pay mate. I'd have to go down the PCP route, which isn't such a bad thing if it wasn't for the large APR figures for used cars [if I understand it right]?!

Top notch car. Nothing wrong with that baby!!
Just trying to work out the prices differences between the years.
I would be mad at Mark G for not trying the forum first for would be buyers, but I think he asking price would be been higher that I'd want to go. Hopefully Lexus Cheltenham didn't take the pi$$ with the p/x figure!!

You reckon the price is right on this one?

I’d say more like 5.
That’s too much for a 2008 (not very low miles either). I while ago on here a chap was selling a 2011 with warranty for the same price...yeah I know a dealer car will of course be more but I wouldn’t be surprised if that car remains at the dealer for a good while if the price remains that high (as nice as it may be).
I’ve missed out on two 2008 ISFs, both will less miles and great history (one having a 2 year warranty), for a lot less than that.
I am of course bias as I want to buy an ISF! Another example of an ISF going to a dealer though when there are buyers here...which makes me sad (though I do understand why) ;(
