  1. A small mod but still a mod, smaller plate up front :) Got rid of that plate surround and trimmed the plate to fit in the original recess. Will eventually get it fully smoothed off when I can afford some paint [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  2. I didn't know there was a wood/leather one. Think I'll leave mine on for a bit I don't know what I'd replace it with if given the choice lol Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  3. Yes in the original invoice there Is a towing pack in there! Came with the towbar, hook and the cooler. So it should have all been dome by Lexus when new :) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  4. Approve of the clear indicators? Lol Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  5. Anything that I do to the car wouldn't be permanent as I'm aware it makes reselling a heck of a lot easier and also retains value. After modding my celica for a few years I've returned it back to standard and she is now worth more and made a small fortune off selling various parts, so I'm quite happy to mod within certain limitations :) As for the milage the LS has done a little over 97k, not bad for a 90s cruiser! I've updated those yolky side indicators for some clear ones that tidy up the sides much better :) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Malc, Whilst I'm all for untouched examples I also see a car as something which can be personalised in the right way. I'm not going for anything that can't be undone such as flaring arches or drilling holes for daft wings (Or anything similar to that army camo one that was posted the other week! Lol) or crazy camber or anything of that nature I would only be doing things that can be reversed or are practical. As an example the next thing I'm doing is changing those very orange side indicators to a clear lens just to make it a bit more modern. Whilst I love my LS there are a few areas that could definitely do with updating :) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  7. Have the engine bay a good clean the other day as it was dire. The pictures don't do it as much justice as I'd hoped but you can see there difference! (Last pic with a feature from 10mm socket [emoji23]) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  8. Hi there :) I've decided to make a topic so you guys can see the changes I'll be making and updating to my mk4 LS400 over the coming months. I haven't done much and because it's such a good example I don't plan on going totally crazy on it like I first envisioned. I mainly post from my mobile so each new set of pictures will probably be a new post to this thread in itself. If you have any suggestions then please be my guest :) Thanks for reading and here's a few pictures of the day I first got it. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  9. I currently have a 2 usb plug for a 12v socket so I think I'll just repair the lighter and use it from there on :) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  10. Ah so it completely replaces the socket rather than plugging in to it I see. I will still repair the original as the back one needs doing as well anyway. Thanks for your input :)
  11. Looks very nice but no use untill I have sorted the socket itself! Lol. How well does it charge phones? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  12. Is it an easy job? I'm pretty hand with stuff like this but will I need solder or just some electrical tape and spare wire? TIA Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  13. Poor merc! That won't be happening here lol. My only complaint at the moment is that the front 12v socket and drivers rear one doesn't work. Only the rear passenger. Fuses are fine. I've read elsewhere on the forums that the cause may be a small wire on the inside of the lighter. Is this an easy job? Or more hassle than it's worth Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  14. I'm 22 so all of mates are of a similar age and just didn't think it would suit. A quick boot in the v8 armchair changed their mind [emoji2] lol. Some have looked at a few themselves now Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  15. I have very much been enjoying the car, everyone sneered when I said I wanted one but after taking them out for a spin in it they can't believe how good it is! Looks like I'm having the last laugh [emoji6] I was thinking of selling the plate to businesses to fund a new one. I was thinking of buying one that has potential resale value, but one is also available at half the price that is L400 with my initials. I did want a smaller digit plate just because I feel it's 'cleaner' and looks alot nicer but the one with my initials on is also tempting. Now unsure which way to go :( As for the rest of the car I have bought some clear indicators for the side to get rid of that yolk style one on the wing, to bring it more up to date without removing anything from it's aesthetic. Also the whole inside has been treated to a good Hoover (many foxes glacier mints are Found!) And a full wipe down of the leather, door cards and an aircon refresh. The car smells much nicer on the inside and just feels a nicer place to be. Although in fairness it could do with a proper wetvac on the inside. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  16. Yes I noticed that myself, it doesn't have a bsau14d on the bottom corner either. However it is too large for my liking and will be replaced soon anyway, same for the front. In regards to being pulled in my last car my front number plate had no bsau14d or makers stamp on the middle, and the rear was technically a motorbike plate. It passed mot each time and even when I had been pulled they never mentioned it too me. I think it's such an insignificant thing to check you'd have to have a major jobsworth get you for that. 17. Unfortunately the tap on the side of my house for the hose has broken so had to use a paid jetwash elsewhere. It wasn't a full clean that is normally do but managed to wash off the dirt and gave the windows a good lot of rainx so they're easier to do in the future. I must say she scrubs up well :) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  18. I will be don't worry, I usually have off Sunday Monday, college Tuesday Wednesday and work Thursday Friday Saturday. So over the next few weeks my days off and college afternoons will be spent cleaning and addressing issues like that. Once I've cleaned today I'll put up some before and after pictures as so far all of the pics I have seem to make it appear clean and this is definitely not the case lol. In regards to the car park it's not the royal centre it was my local asda where I went to find a cassette/aux cable as I can only listen to the radio and cd's for so long lol. In regards to the cam belt I'll find the invoice later and show you all what was done with it. Thanks again for all your lovely comments :) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  19. I've come from a celica to it so definitely a size difference! Definitely keeping out the way as much as possible from now Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  20. Thank you :) Everything's all rolling now and got a picture of it last night looking quite content with itself Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  21. Thank you all for your lovely comments! Car has passed it's mot, and as previously stated my garage have been quite fussy with it, so lots of advisories. All in all though I'm happy that it's passed and everything that is down as an advisory should be able to be fixed or at least updated to keep it running for another 20 years! The paintwork could do with repainting on a couple of corners and there's a few blemishes here and there. Overall it needs a full polish and wax, something that I should be able to complete on Sunday. Along with a good hoovering and dose of leather cleaner. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  22. I took it straight to my garage for an mot, the reason it hasn't been wasn't anything sinister, it was an elderly owner who didn't take it out much anymore and had forgotten. The previous history suggests that it'll fly through so will let you know the result when I receive a call today Thank you to everyone else who's commented, it cost me a grand total of £950, a real bargain Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  23. @cornershop thank you :) ideally it needs painting in the corners and a full polish but bodywork is excellent for age Yes I saw the previous histories too, pretty much all gleaming. I have it in the garage and it's being mot'd in the morning so will see if a different garage has anything to report, I'm hoping not but I know my garage is rather picky so if there is anything I'm sure they'll find it. Still a bargain either way!! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  24. Yeah I'm aware I've got incredibly lucky and know it is worth quite a fair amount more, couldn't be happier with it to be fair. I did want black interior but the condition of this one is fantastic. He recently had 2 new keys made up at Lexus for around £410, cambelt was done may 2016 by Lexus aswell at a fair cost too. I feel I may be rubbing some salt in at the moment but I'm too happy to care;p. Might I add it was still a 2 and half hour journey setting off at 6 30! Lol Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
