  1. So today it was japfest down at the Silverstone circuit, saw a celsior mk3 but not one other ls400 or mk4. I suppose a mk3 does count as a ucf20 but it's still cool to have been the only mk4 LS400 there! ( I didn't see any mk1 or 2, but did see a couple of ls430's) I spent around 6 hours cleaning the car yesterday including clay barring, machine polishing and waxing, which removed a load of previous swirl marks which is a nice bonus Here's a few pics for you all Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks, I prefer the wheels now they are silver too, couldn't tell what design they were as it was all a bit dark. In response to the headlight I appreciate the concern and it's not something that I've just cobbled together over the past few days. I've been working to try and get the beam pattern as close as I can to an acceptable level, I have checked the cut off line and it shouldn't be a problem so far for affecting other road users. Essentially these are being made for show use and now I have use of a company vehicle I don't drive the LS much more for personal use, so it spends less time on the roads anyhow. If they do fail mot or are a nuisance to other road users come the end of show season when the nights start to creep in and it's darker earlier I can just revert back to the original lamps anyhow. I appreciate the concern and warning and hopefully I've made it a bit clearer about how the lights will be used. After all, I'm sure we all see some cars about that are definitely unroadworthy yet still booting it around residentials! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk EDIT: I forgot to mention the main projector that holds the original xenon bulb is of oem manufacturing, it's only the full beam that is an aftermarket projector, so the beam cut off pattern is precise
  3. Thanks for your lovely comment, and I'm glad that the look is starting to grow on You, it seems that a few people are having their minds swayed, and I'm glad that I'm able to do that. There's nothing better than getting stuck in, if it goes wrong it goes wrong, the car will still be drivable and would always try and repair where possible, I'm not one for letting things rot on scrapheaps! When I get home today I will try and again post an image of the headlight build. I have basically turned both the reflector bowls into projector headlights. I hope you guys like them but they are rather distinct, something else I'm sure will divide opinion! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  4. Unfortunately I've noticed that uploading pictures from my phone gives a sub par image to you guys on pc, so for this next post I'll be posting from my pc. Something that I've been working on for a few months is modified headlights, I've been doing this bit by bit and haven't really felt that I had an image I could give you that would show the near finished item, as I'm still a couple of parts away from completion, however these pictures should show you what I've been working on. Even if it isn't something that you particularly like, you can't deny the amount of effort, blood, sweat, and tears that has gone into this build. It started back in around January time, where I took a photo of my standard headlights to get an idea of where I wanted to go with the build after seeing a few builds abroad, I decided to go with the multi lens projector look. and at this point where I want to put a photo in, it wont upload and allow me to post it, to be continued.
  5. Just shows and private roads. I believe when they're imported you can keep the plates but I'm not sure might be wrong on that one. The plate i have are just some cheap replica plates. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  6. About where I would use it or if it was accurate? lol, glad to be of assistance anyhow
  7. Thank you I really appreciate that :) thank you, definitely breathing more life into what most people would call an 'old' car. I just think they don't know what they're missing :P They were taken in Wells, Somerset. Made the trip down for my birthday week. Thank you, great comments make it all worthwhile. I originally wanted a black one with black interior (I like dark colours) Green is certainly one of the better colours I agree. Thank you, small show plate ready for JapFest, the plate is technically inaccurate for a JDM plate, but hey only die hard fans will notice lol
  8. Just some pics as everyone likes a good picture post Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  9. Where are you located?? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  10. I agree, but now I'm thinking I should have just bought silver in the first place lol Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  11. Managed to paint one of the wheels today and prep the rest. Should be able to get them all painted. Silver isn't something I'd like as I find it too standard, however I think it does right by the car Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  12. Today was the day I started to readjust the car and give it some general loving lol. The plan was to get the coilovers adjusted to a more suitable permanent position ready for it's alignment and new tyres next week and also to get the wheels sanded down ready for paint. I only managed to get one corner done as I was too busy faffing do loads of other jobs [emoji23] I thought it would be a good time to give the wheel arch a coat of hammerite to prevent anymore rust coming through. I say anymore like there is some already, but I must say for 20 years on the road there was very little there! Gave it a good coating anyway as preventative is always best :) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  13. Some pics of the car with the now clear front indicators :) Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks :) I plan on getting some more pictures in daylight after work today. Same as any other job on a car. What us thought to be a 10 min job turns into hours lol Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  15. So this afternoon my chrome indicator bulbs arrived which meant it was time to modify those eggy front indicators. I've modded a few sets of headlights in my time but these were nothing like headlights, and so was a new learning experience meaning that it wasn't a brilliant first time at it. However if you never try you'll never know. And should I do another set in the future I'll have a much better idea of what I'm doing and be able to do a much better job at it. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  16. Lovely thread will be nice to see more updates. Would recommend maybe using more paragraphs/punctuation though, some parts seem like a wall of text. and also put in the build thread section? Good luck! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  17. What about diamond cutting? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah that's quite a bit more than I'm willing to spend lol. I think I'll just give the ones I posted above a go and let you all know how I get on Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  19. But how much were they after being made up? Don't want to be spending loads and custom usually means more ££ lol Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  20. There is already some rubber top mats but just want something nicer to look at and rest my feet on. Definitely part of what you say about perceived value. Would make me feel like I'm in a more luxury car Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  21. I think they seem good value too which is what I'm keen on. I have attached a pic as I know people say the floor pedals do vary slightly but these mats are 1300g, whereas the cheaper ones do say model specific but are 650g. Going from the replies to this thread I'd be more keen on plusher carpets! Is there a major deal or variance around the pedals? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  22. Unfortunately not something I have access too and don't necessarily need that much attention to detail (yet!) Definitely an idea for the future Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  23. Sorry for the second thread in one day, but have been looking at getting some mats for my mk4 400. When I bought the car it was missing a passenger mat anyway so not fussed on aftermarket. Been looking at some on eBay but had a look on some reviews and people have seemed to say that the fit around the accelerator pedal doesn't quite sit right. Are there any reccomendations before I bite the bullet and get some anyway. The cheaper ones are 20 quid, some thicker ones are 35 so not crazy money. Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  24. Morning guys. I remember reading in the owners manual that a beep can be programmed in by a Lexus garage so that when the car is locked or unlocked a beep tone plays. After looking around there doesn't seem to be a guide anywhere to do this. I know a few of you are ex Lexus tech's and just wondering if anyone knows the process to get the locking beep to come on? Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  25. When the audio jack is plugged in, spin the plug in your aux port and see if that changes anything. In my experience when speakers do this through the aux port the cable and plug is usually to blame Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
