  1. I have found that the tyres on my recently purchased RX450h are Pirelli Verde All Season 235/55 R19 On my Tucson 4x4 I had a set of Khumo All Weather (both mountain and snow symbols) shipped over from Germany which proved both good grip in all conditions and lasted well. Has anyone used these Pirelli All Season tyres and do the All season tyres compare well with All Weather ones?
  2. Looking for owners opinions on the tyres on the RX450h I have bought. On my previous Tucson I had a set of Khumo All Weather tyres shipped over from Germany by my local tyre fitter and loved them. When I bought this RX450h a couple of weeks ago i knew it had Pirelli Verde fitted but was not sure if summer or all season version. Just found today they are the All Season ones 19 inch... has anyone had them fitted to your cars and how did they do for wear and grip in rain and snow/ice?
  3. You are right about the Rangie.. or at least the old P38 diesel I had .. got sick of being under the bonnet of it .. the only thing I miss of it is the air suspension. One thing I don't miss is just over 22mpg from it .. 138 hp with a similar weight to the RX450 ... the Tucson was quite a bit lighter and was 150bhp.
  4. There was a couple of points that it was down to around 20mpg on the display but quite a few times it was at the top of the graph at 60mpg+ ... not had a look at it properly but from the graph display it was around 35 - 40 mpg .. that was taking it steady most of the way with one or two bits faster over the A66. If I can average around 35mpg from it I will be happy as that was around what I was getting from the Tucson 2.0 diesel which I could get any way from 30 to 45mpg depending on how and where I was driving.
  5. If you have the parking sensors on it then some manufacturers have a switch so you can switch them on or off .. the RX450 I have just bought does but not sure yet if it just switches off the front or back ones ... if the back then it is for when you are towing a caravan or trailer so it does not bleep all the time you put it in reverse when towing.
  6. I have just bought a 2011 RX450 on Friday and it was an 80 add mile trip back home with it ... it was lovely and comfortable drive not tiring at all and did not feel unsettled.
  7. Thanks Dan, that is most useful especially the advice of leaving a cable there hanging out. The one I have bought (pick it up on Friday) is black with black seats ... was wondering about the lighter grey interior but was not sure how it would cope with being marked. Thanks Rayaan, if there is a cigar type socket in there then it might be better for me to use that instead then and leave that cable there instead. That range puts my mind to rest with it then.. thanks for the info.
  8. Just thought of another one .. I saw in a brouchure it mentions that it senses if you are close to the vehicle with the keys and allows you to lightly touch the door handle and it will unlock. Does anyone know what the range is on this please, its not going to let someone in if the vehicle is parked outside the house or work office window if you have the keys on you?
  9. Hello all .. new here to Lexus (be gentle ) . I will be picking my (new to me) RX450h 2011 this Friday and have a question about the USB connector on it. Where is the USB socket and does it just act as a connection to the Audio system or does it charge the phone up as well. I am sure I will be pestering you with other questions as time goes by.
  10. With the Rangie it was neccessary to do the servicing and repairs becasue of the number of times it went wrong, including replacing the diesel pump. With the Tucson I have a good garage opposite where I work where the owner is a former Hyundai trained mechanic. I am hoping he will be able to do most of the work on the Lexus as well as I prefer not to do all that these days, but like to know how it all works and what is the problems that go wrong.
  11. For a few weeks I have been reading some of the topics on here and found them interesting, especially ones on the reliability of the Lexus models. Well i have just taken the plunge and buying a 2011 RX450 with just over 70000 miles on the clock and in black (the colour of my first 2 4x4's). I have been driving 4x4's since 2004 staring with a Suzuki Grand Vitara XL7 (my best so far) then a Suzuki GV1600 followed by a Range Rover P38 and then my current Hyundai Tucson. I am hoping the RX450 proves to be as reliable as the XL7 .. and definately not like the Rangie. Hope to pick up a few tips on here especially the maintenance side of things on it.
