  1. Just a quick update... I contacted Lexus and they suggested sending an email to privacy@tgb.toyota.co.uk explaining the situation, done... just received a reply saying that only the police can request this information in the UK... I'm assuming is because GDPR in UK (or Europe)... in Australia (maybe US), this service is included for free in the first 3 years of ownership, and if the vehicle is stolen they only need the VIN and crime reference number to send you the location of the vehicle... I've sent an update to the case to the police and I hope they will send that email to Toyota... I'm sure that if they track my car, then there's a big chance of finding more stolen cars... so fingers crossed...
  2. Unfortunately the car didn't have a tracking system and not sure with what I'm going to replace it... I haven't slept all night thinking how can I get it back... Did a few posts on social media, looked around the area in case they left it on a side road, knocked on doors around the location where the car was parked and nobody had seen anything or had CCTV... After some research found this: https://www.lexus.com.au/connectivity/lexus-connected-services-faq#:~:text=Stolen Vehicle Tracking (SVT) is,to either continue%2C or discontinue. It seems that this service is offered free for 3 years in Australia (possible also in US) and to be able to track it using this system you only need the VIN and and police reference number... Why this isn't available in the UK? I'll try to contact Lexus to find out more... I do hope that they can find it... I have a hidden dashcam in the rear view mirror which can record around 24 hours whilst the car is powered on... Unfortunately everything is stored locally...
  3. I was just about to do a system and attach an alarm to the wiring going to the headlight which should slow down or put away the thieves, but unfortunately if was just stolen last night from Forest Hill - London. Make sure that you are making something to slow down the thieves if you have a Lexus or thinking of buying one.
  4. Guess what... My car was just stolen from Forest Hill area in London. I was just about to do the trick with the personal alarm... But now is too late.
  5. Hmmmm... It may sound strange, but... You can buy a personal alarm or purse alarm, attach a wire from the alarm (under the seat) to the driver's door (maybe steering wheel) and leave some space to disable it. It works like a grenade pin, once is out the alarm will go on and on until the battery dies, is very loud and I'm sure this will put off any thief. I might do this myself and update everyone with a post. Maybe even attached to the wiring harness from the headlight. Sorry to hear about your car, I didn't read properly and thought that they used the key signal.
  6. You should also buy a Faraday pouch or case to block the signal from your keys if you are worried about having the car stolen. You are an easy target if the car is kept on the driveway, close to the car keys. No signal from your keys = no access to the car = no car stolen. When I'm away at someone else's house I put the key into SLEEP mode, which stops the key from sending any signal (acts like a Faraday pouch). See video below: Anything to make it harder for thieves helps.
  7. This is the rim protection difference between Potenza (top) and Turanza (bottom), the one on top is a bit wider.
  8. Have you serviced the car with Lexus only? From my understanding is that if you service with Lexus the warranty should be extended up to 10 years or 100k, whichever comes first, but this needs to be activated. https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/warranty/lexus-warranty My first stamp in the service book has a WARRANTY ACTIVATED stamp, I need to check with them to make sure this is actually true. Try asking your dealer about this.
  9. I went with Bridgestone Turanza 006, just been launched this year, and so far I'm happy with them compared with the Bridgestone Potenza which were factory fitted. Not a huge improvement, but slightly better. Potenza had rading B (grip) and D (fuel consumption) with 72bd and Turanza has A (grip) and B (fuel consumption) with 70bd, the only thing is the when I bought them I couldn't find these anywhere else so ended up paying for fitting separately, and the rim protection is smaller (similar to Michelin PS4). This is where I bought them: https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres/bridgestone/turanza-t006/235-40-r19-96y-1524455 If you have any other websites where these are available, please share the link. Just found them at Costco with a good promotion and fitting included: https://www.costco.co.uk/Tyres-Automotive/Tyres-Accessories/Tyres/Bridgestone-23540-R19-Y-96-TUR6-TURANZA-XL/tire/p/622392 Check the size before, I have the Sport model and the rims are slightly different.
  10. I tried becoming a Gold member to get the discount, called a few dealerships, and none wanted to give the discount, they've all sent the same quote £580 for full service and £305 for intermediate. I ended up paying the full price in the end... Not even the person which was giving my previous discounts wasn't able to help. He said that before they were able to tweak the price because it was coming straight from the dealer, but now all contracts go through Lexus and that's the best they can do... I can't tell if this is true or not, but this is what I was told. Maybe something changed recently...
  11. Thanks for the answers, makes sense. I was getting 10% discount on service plans all the time until recently. I do find it a bit expensive for what they offer... 40k service is £580 and they replace oil, oil filter, pollen filter, air filter, windscreen washer fluid, brake fluid, and the battery on the key fob... The rest is a list with checks and inspections... 50k service covers oil, oil filter, pollen filter, and windscreen washer fluid... The rest is the list with checks and inspections, but at least this one is £305. For what is done, I find it a bit on the expensive side, that's why I was asking if the discount is still available. Have a great day!
  12. Averaging 55mpg now, and seen it above 60mpg after replacing the front tyres with Bridgestone Turanza T006 (the rim protection is not as big as Potenza) - previously were Bridgestone Potenza and was averaging 50mpg. During winter I've dipped to 47mpg. Mainly mixed traffic and I'm checking every time I do a full tank.
  13. Hi, Does anyone know if recently Lexus UK changed their Service Plan? I know that the price has increased, but they are not offering anymore a 10% discount when buying a Service Plan and it's not cheaper than buying a service one by one. I use them since 2017 and today was told that there will be no more discount when buying a service plan with them... What is the point of buying a service plan is this is not a bit cheaper than buying a service one by one? Maybe is only the dealership I'm using, that's why I'm asking. Thanks!
  14. Just a quick update, in case anyone is looking for a solution. The chime can be disabled with Techstream, but the dashboard notification will still show.
  15. Thanks for answering. I've checked also with Techstream and there's no option to disable them.
  16. Just asking in case had this done in the UK. In the other forum someone specified that the unit was replaced by Lexus and it made a difference. Checked now the speakers and a bigger speaker won't fit, maybe a better one of the same size which has also base. I'll need to do more research.
  17. Hi, I took the car for a drive this weekends and my friends were at the back, and noticed that there's almost no sound coming from the speakers R+L mostly coming from the front. Tried different settings, changed balance towards the back and still nothing... after doing a bit of research I found out that this is "normal" design... more details in the next link: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-7th-gen-2019-present/901662-2019-lexus-es-300h-rear-speaker-problem-13.html While reading this forum noticed that someone posted that they've had a unit replaced (PN 86280-06232) and that made a bit of a difference #171 I have some questions: - did anyone replaced this unit in the UK under warranty? - what about replacing the speaker with a bigger one? - can a speaker from the front fit in that space (rear speaker)? I know that the size is different, but maybe there's a way to fit a bigger one - will the amp have enough power for a bigger speaker? Maybe is limited by software... Not sure. - any other possible solutions to have a more even and balanced sound in the car? Thank you!
  18. I've seen this done on the IS and GS, but not ES yet. I'll have to try and post an update when I'll have the right tools.
  19. Not with the dog, just with the bag... That's my issue. I'll try with Techstream when I'll have the tools and post an update if it will work. If not, I'll have to get used, not the end of the world.
  20. Always restrained. We have a few parks where we live so most of the time we walk, rarely we take him in the car.
  21. What if I need to take the dog out? Need to train him to get used with... DING! DING! DING! 🐶 I know I can connect the seatbelts and keep the car quiet, but I've got used with my previous cars and want to have the same comfort in this one... If possible, if not than I'll set the ringtone on my phone the same with the car to get used to it... 😜
  22. Does anyone know how to disable the rear seats seatbelt chime? Had my bag on the rear seat today and it drove me crazy... DING! DING! DING! I found a few videos, but not for ES300h: I know that this can be done using Techstream but I don't have access to any of the tools yet. Any suggestion is welcome, thanks!
  23. Does anyone know if there's a way to disable DRL (daytime running lights) while the car is stopped (P position) with parking brake on? I found a video from GS, but this is not available on my ES: I know that this can be done using Techstream but at the moment I don't have any of the tools available. Any suggestion is welcome, thanks!
  24. After seeing quite a few ES300h I can say that the alignment on the bumpers (front or rear) is not great. Initially I thought that a few were repaired, but after seeing more almost new it got very obvious that is just the built quality... After you buy the car, you just don't see it anymore. Mine has a slight misalignment on the front, but I forgot about it until I saw this post 😆
  25. Thanks everyone for the information, very useful! Also found out that the windscreen has de-icer function which is another bonus, especially now that... winter is coming! Is the windscreen de-icer part of the concierge or does it need to be activated separately?
