Yes mate you can get a trans cooler on its own I’m aure . Think RR racing does one but I’m sure the lads on here will correct me and point you in the right direction

There was someone from the midlands that had the same issue Lexus Carlisle told me and one in the states . It’s obviously a defect in manufacture or age . Whether it’s to do with lack of use etc I’ve no idea . I didn’t use my isf much so maybe sitting in the garage for days each week didn’t help . Or maybe I was just one unlucky ***** to have that happen . Like finding a doe doe eating bird seed in ya back garden .

Well said mate and that was my argument with Lexus GB . It broke because of a part that cannot be seen not checked and isn’t checked under servicing not mot . Lexus GB suck and I told them that too . I’ve spent over 70 grand with Lexus and I got fobbed off . I’ll never own another . ive warned a lot of lads in the states they could be sitting on a time bomb too . The answer I got off most was . Well mines ok lol yeh it will be till the pipes fail inside the main rad lol

Yeh the car is a belter mate . I changed the oil between services every 5000 miles . I put new brakes all round . New tyres . Anything it needed . The gearboxes are really robust but the way it broke down was a nightmare because it wasn’t even the fault of the box it was the bloody fluid pipes that run through the main rad . I fitted a new torque converter too thinking that was the fault so your gear box will be good as new now with a rebuild . And I know the car has never had a bump or accident so someone will be getting a belter . I would keep it if I was you mate cos you won’t get a better genuine one in that colour and age . It’ll be worth a few quid in a few years .

Did Lexus Carlisle fix the gearbox before you bought it .

No mate my car wasn’t under warranty when it broke . They sold me a warranty after I told them to fit a new torque converter and fluid . It seemed to work at first so I took the warranty then it went again so all they would do under warranty was keep it in a week and put a tube of anti shudder in it .

It lost all its fluid because of a burst pipe in the main rad . There’s a post I put on here last year about it . Burnt the clutches so needs a rebuild or new . Lexus put a ten quid tube of anti shudder in it after I spent 3 grand on a new torque converter and took out a warranty . When it shuddered again and slipped in auto mode they took it in and under warranty put that tube of crap in it trying to get out of fitting a new box . It wasn’t right when I sold it but I had had enough of being messed around and fobbed off .

My old silver one is back up for sale on eBay I see . He hasn’t had that long . Bet the gearbox is playing up again and Lexus won’t replace it under warranty .

Awesum mate . Yeh I do agree with all you have said . Zero confidence . I won’t be back in a Lexus for a long time . Loved the isf but the way it broke and the damage it caused was a joke and the push away attitude from Lexus GB . All I wanted was them to realise that the part that failed inside the main rad couldn’t be checked atall so how was I supposed to pick up the huge cost of a defective manufactured part . Cheesed off to day the least . That car needed nothing but I cudnt put ten grand into it for a new trans .

And because of the bitch that was emailing me and the goon from the warrenty I’ve had to sell the car I paid a lot for and loved. Well seriously I do hope they end up having the most miserable lives ever . Absolute keyboard cabbages .

Wish it all went like that mate . Honestly it’s been a nightmare with them . I pushed hard believe me . Pleased to be out of it all tbh it was so draining .

When I traded it in I said it’s not right you know and they said we will just sell it and if anyone notices we will either take it back or they can try the warranty . good luck there . Out comes another anti shudder sachet 16 quid

The warrenty is a rip off mate . They promise you everything but when it comes to the crunch they turn away with excuses . Shocking . Lexus will never see my money again . I even asked Lexus GB to put me in touch with the gearbox manufacturers in japan and they wouldn’t . Honestly Lexus GB no nothing about the isf . I’ve a million emails back and forth asking them questions. Asking for help . 5 Lexus I’ve had inc 1 brand new but nope they just said hey it’s bad luck it happens

Hello mate I’ve got a focus st for now

New rad is 300 and you can get anyone to fit it so yeh well under 500 . My water pump was fine just the pipes running theough the inside of the rad with the trans fluid in burst . Couldn’t believe it when my trans started slipping and juddering . Was gutted . I’ve had my isf over 5 years . It was immaculate not a single dent in the side panels etc

Hello mate 85000 it had but wasn’t treat badly or abused or raced . But yeh I would reccomend the lads with the older ones to think of a better solution to stop this happening . Honestly it’s a nightmare when the trans fails

Very true . Good customers and we spend thousands with them and we get back nothing . Just excuses . I asked lexus GB loads of questions about the isf trans and they just kept saying our tech team reccomends you change the complete box at 9 grand ish . Then after I done the converter etc and got a warrenty they said try the anti shudder . Hmm they didn’t mention it needing a new box then . Cos it was coming out of there pockets . Greedy horrible people at lexus GB and they lost a very very good customer . Over the years I’ve give them approx 80’grand and all I get back is 16 quid super anti shudder fluid lol

The last time it was in Lexus it was in for a full week . I never got a phone call or update or anything until it was after a week and I said oh you’ve had it a long time have you put a new box in under warrenty which is what I expected . They said no the warrenty guy from Liverpool had been in contact with a gearbox specialist in Liverpool and they said hey try this new anti shudder fluid you put in your box . So that’s what I got for 75 quid a month . Bargain that . That’s why I said hey it’s fixed you can have it .
