Could you enquire through something like 'Nextdoor' if anyone has a suitable Garage or workshop that you could rent for a day or two? There are many car enthusiasts about who may love to share their experiences etc.

I temporarily had a new Chr with the same infotainment system as the new UX so I'm assuming yours is like that. Big, wide touchscreen etc. That worked perfectly and the voice command system was spot on.
I'm going to ask them to check my aerial at the next service but I do wonder if these fins are up to the job.
Since fitting a Bluetooth dongle I tend to use Android Auto and BBC sounds. This keeps the signal, the Google voice works well and the Navigation seems smoother than the built-in version. As long as the phone's not in your pocket that is as there's very little 5g where I drive and Levis appear to be excellent signal blockers!

Thanks, I personally think it's connected to the burning smell although we have had no smells since getting it back but maybe it's burnt it self out, the Lexus dealer cold not find any evidence of any damage! we are away on another holiday Saturday, when we get back i will give Tim a call and maybe have a trip over there. Since Sunday the only problem is the radio cutting all the other main stuff has not happened,
Good to hear you sounding a little more positive. With regards to the radio, mine is dodgy too, looses signal fairly regularly. It depends on your channel choice I fear!

Is there a voice command to end a navigation? I couldn't find one after accidentally starting a route and then failing to turn the darn thing off!

I find it rather retro but classy.
I don't get the 'retro' to be honest but it is so much nicer than my previous (NX) that was gorgeous from the front but jelly-mould ugly at the back, still loved her though!

The jury is out on the wheels as I tend to favour many spokes but one thing in favour of the five spoke wheels is how easy they are to clean.
I mostly love the UX but apart from the lane keep defaulting to on, there is one other thing that really sucks - in fact I’d go as far as saying it is rubbish and that is the auto wipers. Denso have never got it right and on the current system you can’t even trick it into being intermittent. Needs sorting Lexus, it just isn’t good enough.
I realise that your vehicle is a newer (and higher spec) car than mine Don but have they altered the switching this year? I'm sure that My Lane Keeping can be turned off completely and always is. When I collected the car from the dealer I drove home via the M69 and it seemed like the car had been drinking! Quite severe reactions by the lane centering software. Having arrived home I turned it off and it stayed off until recently when I tried it again after I reduced the sensitivity. When on the lowest setting it appears to have virtually no action except for the distracting graphic on the dash. Could you just reduce the sensitivity and put-up with it that way, or have they taken that option away too?

Personally I think that in a world of ugly back-ends, since the SUV craze took off, the UX has one of, or even the prettiest, back-end of all cars on the road.

My local dealer has fitted standard Nexens and mine is now a different car. Quieter, smoother and more like a 'luxury vehicle'.

I use Meguiars Black plastic restorer on all black plastic and am extremely happy with the results. Even the external black plastic parts are still looking like new.
Top tip... Wipe it on and leave it moist to dry naturally. Don't over polish it.

Analogue to digital Speedo was the first thing I changed when I got my UX. Much easier to read imho.
We have a 21 plate Yaris. No engine vibration at all and apart from not riding the bumps as well as the UX it's a lovely comfortable little car.

As it happens, the recommended tyre pressures by both car and tyre makers are based on those recorded on a cold tyre. The use of a slightly raised pressure would be indicated in the event of unusually heavy loads.
This is an extract from a Continental Tyres web page on the subject. I have always considered that the ‘recommended’ pressure is the target figure when cold, on the basis that it is the optimum starting point as neither tyre nor car maker can control the varying weather conditions or driving styles that the tyre may face - even in the course of the same journey.
Continental Tyres:
Cold tyres. You’ll get a more accurate reading if you check the pressure when the tyres are cold, before the outside temperature rises and the tyres are exposed to direct sunlight. If the outside temperature increases by 10 degrees Celsius, the tyre pressure will increase by 1.6 PSI. In winter, in some climates, tyres could experience a drop of up to 5 PSI.
That may be the case but I found the car was quieter and more comfortable starting slightly low when running the dreaded run-flats. Now I've changed to standard tyres I will probably go to the 2.3 bar the system states. Thanks for the useful info though.

My warning light alerted me on Sunday when we had a slight frost. This isn't abnormal in previous cars when the weather changes. I had 4 new tyres a couple of weeks ago and although the plate states 2.3 bar I actually like to start slightly low as the tyres get firmer when the temperature from road friction does its stuff. By the time everything was warmed up the monitor reported 2.3 bar on all tyres but the front nearside still showed yellow on the graphic. Ironically, when first started, they all showed 2.1 bar except for the front nearside that started at 2.2 and this was the one that showed as 'low'!
I have reset the pressure switch and will see how it progresses but I may have to add a little pressure for these colder times!

You dont need to start the engine to close the windows, just hold down the lock button on the key fob, and the windows will either close or open, whichever you want
I've read this before but it doesn't work on all cars, not even all the same model of car.

Let's face it, it will be no better under Labour. If you can actually define their policies and that's a challenge, they appear to be saying that they will not turnover any of the decisions the current government have announced but they will tax private schools! How will that help? They also say that local mayors and councils will get more responsibility. God help us if that happens. They're diabolically poor managers and mainly self serving in my experience.
As for housing. The one thing that councils did do okay is run council housing. They should build more, but better LA housing and freeze out private landlords who may milk those poor individuals stuck in such a housing dilemma.
Clearly if we keep allowing over 600,000 migrants per annum, whether legal or illegal then we will never have enough housing and it's immoral giving anyone hope to only dump them in hostels and old manky hotels. Can't we put a stop on things and get ourselves set before we recommence being the generous nation that we have always been.
To be honest it is all very depressing.

I am retiring next year, was thinking of getting out and about on the wifes e-bike while she slaves over a works computer for a couple more years. All these stats suggest maybe I should stick to becoming a couch potatoe.
And that's Holland! They've banned hills there I believe! Maybe just use the bike to get to the cake shop and back Pete!

Tried this in my car (22 UX) and I just get Radar Cruise with one press and ordinary cruise with long press. Must be on higher rated models I guess.

Our Yaris has this (2021) and the briefly owned c-hr had it (2023) but no Lexus I've owned had a limiter. Shame because they're really useful. I have set the overspeed alarm to +3 and that helps to give one a nudge.

btw I personally think the LC models look bloody sad and awful .......... but again, that's maybe a generational thing too 😥 ....... some people ( maybe me ) have no taste eh !🙃

I like them but not very practical for my lifestyle. I've already banned my granddaughter from eating an ever lengthening list of stuff and could imagine a total ban in a top end car. Good job I've only got a modest UX.

That will be my 4 children after the taxman has taken his slice. Funny that when you get an inheritance the first thing people do is spend it yet when you get old you are reluctant to spend your savings. I think it’s a generation thing.
That's very true but also older people don't tend to have credit. At least that's what I've found. Save, save, save and cash purchase the car!

I agree regarding the fact that wireless should be standard but it's not and isn't likely to be.
I got this and it's worked flawlessly for 7 months now.
